Move VM hard drive

Good afternoon

I am relatively new to VCO and have only recently setup in our environment. I managed to get a virtual machine are implemented in a work as a model and he joined our nice area with a few other changes. The last part of the puzzle is, once deployed a new virtual machine from a template, at the end of the orchestrator task I want to automatically change "HARDDISK2' (the second the new virtual machine hard disk) to a different data store. The workflow "Relocate virtual machine disks" under "library/vCenter/Virtual Machine Management/move and migrate / ' folder does not move the hard disks in the virtual machine, but it moves 1 hard drive and hard disk 2 of the virtual machine. I just want it to do "Hard Disk 2. Does anyone know how I can change this workflow just to the second hard drive?

Kind regards

Dai

The disks are 0-indexed... are you try to move the disk named disc 2? If so, this would drive 3... If you have only two disks, they are disk 0 and disk 1 so that you do not want to specify disk 1 as to again spend data store. In my test, my virtual machine running were 6 disks and I moved with success from disks 0, 1 and 2.

original title: Moving the death machine drive

    Hello CarrolScott,

The activation problem arose because the hardware on your current computer does not match that of the hardware on the machine whose mother is dead.

The best option for the reactivation is to use the telephone line. This, unfortunately, is automated and may refuse to turn on your system; However, don't despair just rest on the line after the automated atcivation crossed its procedure and you will be transferred to a real person. Tell this person you've done, and it should be able to help activate.

  • my laptop is dying, I can move my hard drive to another computer and still use vista coa?

my laptop is dying, I can move my hard drive to another computer and still use vista coa?

    Hello

It depends on the type of license you have, as to whether you can transfer it or not.

Pre-installed Licenses OEM (HP, Acer, etc.) and the Microsoft System Builder OEM licenses are tied to the first machine that they are installed on and channels of license when this machine dies.

    OEM licenses are not transferable.

If you have purchased your own license for sale retail of Windows and installed yourself, yes you can transfer it to another computer.

    Retail licenses are transferable.

Just be sure that you have only installed on one machine at a time.

A single license means one Installation.

And if it is retail and transfer you, in all likelihood will have to reinstall the operating system, as this disc hard the 'old' aura card mother drivers installed, which will cause starting problems.

    See you soon.

  • Qosmio X X 870-1006: browsing movies to HARD drive

Hi, I'm new here and I want to question asa...

    I recently purchased a qosmio.
It was working fine, until one day I tried to watch a movie to the HARD drive.
It was great and everything, but then I realized that the tone of voice is higher.
It started to sound a bit like the Chipmunk and the speed of video playback is faster than expected (maybe it's the cause of the noise problem))... but when I also try to play a movie on a DVD disc it works perfectly fine.

I tried all the videos I have on my HARD drive, and each has the same problem.

    Can someone help me?

Have you tried different software as for example the VLC Player?

  • Move the HARD drive to the new virtual machine

I think it's a real simple question, so a simple answer is very well...

I currently have a computer virtual running windows server 2003 x 86.  This whole system is on C: and the D: is strictly files/shared user.  I need to upgrade this server 2 k 8 R2 x 64.  My plan is to detach the D: to the x 86 box, create a new x 64 VM and reattach the D: from the old server and re-create the shares.

My question is, when I do that, I would wait to see the security reset on the player?  As in the new operating system will reorganize the security on all of its default value...

Other issues anyone do with it?  Simple enough?  It is about 300 GB of user data, so I'm just a little nervous about it.  (it is supported of course however).

    Thanks for any info!

I think that when you remove the drive and re - join a new virtual machine, it will inherit the rights of the current operating system. It is the same concept as if you had a USB HDD shared, connected to a PC, removed and attached to another PC. You would lose your actions and all other settings.

You should not have problems - make sure to note all the shared available on disk as well as any special permissions (as denies explicit for Active Directory).

  • move a hard drive from MBP 2012 in a mac mini 2009

    Hello

I bought a 500 GB ssd and I am cloning my macbookpro HD 500 gb on it at the moment.

I plan to use my macbookpro HD to replace my 120 GB mac mini HD.

I wonder if it could be possible to put the macbookpro HD in the mini without deleting its content, which would allow me to win time install OSX and the transfer of data from my macbookpro? Would it cause problems?

I upgraded from the mac mini 8 GB RAM.

I just bought used the mac mini and is currently under Leopard, but would like to have of El Capitan on it.

    Thanks for your advice.

The Mini can run 10.11.x, the only thing I'm not sure of is if the supplied Apple MBP 6/Gbs Player supports the Mimi 3/Gbs speed... most do, but...

  • Move the hard disk to my G5 to mac intel & update?

I would like to physically move a hard drive from my mac G5 (OS 10.4.11) for mac intel xeon.  Once the HD in the Intel Mac I could use my Snow Leopard installation disc to upgrade this drive to 10.6.8 without problems.  The old operating system will be written to the wire and all my other files remain intact?    Looks like an easy way to migrate from G5 Intel if it works.

    Any help is very appreciated.

  • Update hard drive to disk hybird / HP Envy 15.6 (DV6-7226NR)

I just bought a refurbished HP ENVY 15.6 (DV6-7226NR), (what has not happened yet, so I don't know if I have the installation of Windows 8 media). I want to move the hard drive to a hybrid drive. Couple of questions, because I'm not the original owner, and the laptop was bought refurbished, am I allowed to reinstall Windows 8, in view of the change of material. If it is allowed, what procedure should I follow. I would be grateful some links to information I'm looking for.

You'll have to ask the company refurbished if there is a partition on the laptop recovery.

If there is, then you should be able to make a recovery usb flash drive to allow you to reinstall the operating system. If the recovery partition exists or not will be between you and the renovation company.

My preferred method during the upgrade of the hard disks is to use a cloning software and a usb cable to SATA to clone the existing to the new hard drive.

  • Can satellite A300 - 1 5 - I change HARD drive?

    Hi everyone;

    I have this laptop: [Toshiba Satallite A300 - 1 G 5 | http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/jsp/SUPPORTSECTION/discontinuedProductPage.do?service=EU&com.broadvis ion.session.new = Yes & PRODUCT_ID = 1055589]. It has the standard specification, no upgrade.

I thought if it is possible to move the disk from its housing (which on the left side of the laptop) on the side right from your cell phone, because my model can have 2 separate HARD drive. This idea came to my mind because that the CPU (cooling module) is actually on the left side, but also the HDD. As everyone knows, CPU generate much of the heat from the laptop, so I thought that I can reduce the heat by moving the HARD disk to the right (where its only contains the DVD player). A matter of fact, the left side of the laptop is always hotter than the right side.

Yes, is there any body agree on that? The HARD drive fits on the right side? If so, can u people help me on how I can move the HARD drive on the right side?

    Thanks in advance...

I think that means shipped such a HARD drive chassis:
[Portable HARD drive chassis | http://supcontent.gateway.com/support.gateway.com/s/Mobile/2007/Tempest/Graphics/Tempest_HDD_BUMPERS_02.JPG]

I recommend you check out it for yourself. Throw in the two slots in the HARD disk and then you should see the difference.
HARD drive cover is normally set by one or two live only, so you can check it in a few minutes.

  • Re: Satellite Pro A300-1EA: can I use faster and bigger HARD drive?

So this may seem like a stupid question, but if I intend to spend of the installed 160 GB 5400 RPM HDD of the Satellite Pro A300 1EA to a 7200 RPM drive HARD (do not know the ability yet) and I was wondering how to make recovery disks (downgrade from Vista professional and XP Professional) coming with the work of the laptop with the HARD disk that does not part of factory as drives for my understanding restore the system...

The size of the drive HARD replacement has something to do with the thing?
If the replacement HARD drive is also 160 GB system see the difference? And even if it was smaller or larger the system see the difference?

I have not even bought the laptop but will soon and it is a little urgent.

    Computer thanks Fellows ahead! :)

    * Oh... It seems that this question has already been answered... a little research has ever killed forum person huh... but if someone has vital information about the issue... Please let me know! :)*

    Hello

I think that he should t be a problem with an upgrade to a faster and bigger HARD drive.
But before you switch the HARD disk, you must create the Toshiba Recovery DVD using the Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
After the recovery disk has been created, you can move the hard drives.

    Best regards

  • Satellite A100 - question on the removal of the HARD drive

    Hi all

I opened the back panel and have Visual access to the hard drive. It is placed in a kind of rubber cradle / cage. Please advise on how to remove the hard drive and replace it with a new one.

I need to do this is because I am faced with recurring problems of bad sector and now XP will not boot. So I intend to install a new 160 GB HARD drive and use the recovery disc.

Also, I enclose the picture of the HARD drive in the laptop when the case was opened.

Looking forward to your prompt response.

    Thanks in advance.

Move the HARD drive to the left and the HARD drive will be disconnected. Place it on a flat surface like desktop and remove the two plastic covers by moving them to the left or the right.
