Movie Maker 6.0 - limiting length of film?

Hi all, I posted a question earlier, and although I got an immediate response, and I acted on the advice, I can't go more than 18 minutes on a film. Zealous employment transitions limits the memory needed to make a single movie? Is there a loimit number of clips?    Help!

Hello

You say that you have 300 GB on the disk? How this is FREE and is the free part on the
same partition as you work? I think you need 2 or 3 times the free zone on the partition
you are working on doing your job properly. That is to say if you have a partition C: and D: and C: only
a 2 free concerts and D: and 150 free concerts and you work on C:, then you are limited to its
and if you were working on D: it is a lot more available space. And if free space on D:
was small and C: had a lot and then work on D: would also restrict you.

This utility will show you how the space is used.

Cannot change the length of each clip on Microsoft Movie Maker.

I clicked on 'tools', then 'options' in Microsoft Movie Maker after importing my media and organize my clips as the way I would like it. When I then click on the "Advanced" tab, image duration shows only 5 seconds with the transition period only 1.25 seconds, which is the default setting and that is also what I want. However, when I play my project in Movie Maker, it accelerates through each clip. I also noticed that when I press the title of 'Clip' in my headings at the top left and then click on 'Properties', the duration of each clip shows that only 00:02 seconds. Which is why my speed clips too quickly.

I would have thought that setting my time of duration in the Tools section would then set in the Clips section, but this is obniously does not. I don't understand why everyone would show differently and wonder if you can help me to slow down the speed that my movie is playing.

The change of setting to: Tools / Options /.

  • Windows Movie Maker: I can't complete my film

I'm pretty computer savvy, but could not understand this problem. I got a new computer which is Windows 7. Windows Movie Maker was not about it, so I downloaded the free version of Windows Movie Maker 2.6. It worked fine for awhile and I recently did a short video successfully without any problems. Until a few days ago when I tried to finish another movie and save it on my computer, it won't in a movie. I tried all the different film settings to save my movie about the file size, quality, etc., and yet, it will not save. I get the same error message stating "unable to complete the Save Movie Wizard. Your film is not properly registered. This project contains files which are lacking or which have been modified after importation sources. Your project cannot be saved as a movie until the source files have been located or deleted from the project. "I checked that all the different files where not moved or changed on my computer, they were where they were when I made the film. I also tried to save my film previously saved successfully to the movies again to make sure that he had nothing to do with the current files and it wouldn't save. I tried to read single movie files, which are in the film, apart from Movie Maker, and they play very well.  I have a lot of space on the hard disk on my computer to save on. I don't know what the problem is. My computer model and manufacturer is a Dell Inspiron if that makes a difference.

I'd appreciate any help what so ever to solve this problem.
    Thank you, Shelly :)

Later came across the same problem when recording as "high definition (720 p). But re - start Movie Maker solved the problem. Definitely seems a problem of memory [leak].

When the only solution viable response to a tech support question is 'Please stop doing what our product is advertised to do', it's time to stop using the product.

This isn't just a comment on this topic in this forum - I looked for an answer to this question for a couple of hours, and the reality seems to be that WMM not just do what it is advertised to do this very regularly, even what requirements have been far exceeded. Nobody has all the answers as to why. It is a reason to go back to Linux, for me. FFmpeg does not have a GUI, but it works. WMM is one of the few reasons why I should continue to be part of my tasks in Windows.

  • I have Windows XP Home Edition & tries to use Windows Movie Maker 2, after having made the film, he won't let m not record my movie?

He's saying that he cannot save the movie to the specified location. Ensure that the use of original source of your movie files are always available (which they are!) that the backup location is always available - what it means?

    Pls help

    Thank you inadvance

The most common reason, you see this is because Movie Maker is unable to manage one of your source files.  Movie Maker prefers to video .wmv and .wma for audio, so if you use other types of files in WMM 2.1, you should try to convert them to these types of files first.  Freemake has a couple of converters (Freemake Video Converter and Audio Converter from Freemake) that can do this quite easily.  Or you can look around.

Another reason, you could see it is if your project has a lot of pictures.  The version of XP Movie Maker (WMM 2.1) was not too well manage memory and could not refuse to save your movie once it takes about 100 photos.  If this is the case, try to divide your project into two (or more) separate projects and recording each part as a separate sequence.  If it works, at the end you can put them back together by creating a final project and adding partial movies created previously.

I don't think that you can adjust the fade but you could split the audio file
5 seconds from the end and set the volume of the small section.

  • Movie maker file too big DVD maker

The movie in Windows Movie Maker, I made is 180 minutes. My version of Windows DVD maker cannot contain the length of film does not exceed 150 minutes. I really don't want to cut the film, or split it into two films. Y at - it an upgrade for the creation of DVD which will contain more data, or is there something else I can do?

    Hello paige2714,

Have you tried to use DVD +/-R double layer. You get 4.7 GB on a standard DVD, but a DL media you get close to 8.5 GB of space which means double it recording time. They are a little more expensive. Also Verbatim media are excellent! Don't forget to set the speed down when copying on DL media. I burn a 4 x, but for less fortunate to a coaster I would burn your master (a you intend to maintain) to 2.4 x. hope this helps you. Let us know if the DL media help you anyway. Make it a great day!

  • Problems affecting the points of beginning/end/split in Live Movie Maker

You know how when you add video for Windows Live Movie Maker, it shows a piece of film in the editing section? And how this 'film' is divided into a series of images separated by black bars?  Well, whenever I try to put any kind of point in the program, it automatically places it in the closest division between the images on the film. I have Windows Vista with the latest service pack, I use video 3gp in the film, and I had this problem since the first time I've used the program. Please help me. I know that's not supposed to happen because my friend also use Windows Live Movie Maker and never had this problem. In addition, on a somewhat related note, MP4 does not, either. • Why the length of film does not change when I remove Vista Movie Maker clips?

You have not answered my other question.  I get an error "does not fit" when you publish a movie on dvd. I deleted half the clips in the storyboard and length does not change. I always get the error "will not fit". After I saved the project. It seems that it becomes the length of the imported clips not what is in the table of Storyboard. The length of the table of Storyboard is only 01:30, but the length in the window shows 02:42 that is causing the error. It seems to me that it should use the length of the table of Storyboard because it's what makes the final video on dvd.

Yes... adding or removing items from the timeline should change the duration of the project.
The files in your component collections have no effect on the duration of the project.

I suggested that you publish in the movie .wmv format to see if the version with clips
removed would still last for 02:42.

As I have said from the beginning... creating several small projects may be your solution.

I'm sorry that my suggestions seem redundant to you. Perhaps you could find assistance elsewhare.
