Movie Maker does not work HELP?
OK, I wanted to change a few videos of my friends together. I remembered that in Vista they took the computer off and then on their Web page (so those who wanted that he could download it). I went on the site Windows and download the program. Now, I can not download videos to edit... He tells me his stop responding and stops. What I've done wrong? Windows 7 are Director? Because if that's the case I will be low grade back to my windows XP stuff...
OK, he let me uplaod videos simple Windows but my camera video files are only AVI files...

my film creator of windows XP home SP2 after obtaining updates (SP3 and others) does not work. How to fix this or how to get free a similar program for video editing?
See if the following .dll file will help. The Windows Update agent, Wups2.dll file are perhaps not properly saved.
Open a command prompt window (start-> all programs-> Accessories-> command prompt) and type the command:
regsvr32 wups2.dll
Let us know if that helps.

Movie Maker: Does not work! A similar program: will not play!
Greetings from Microsoft professionals!
So I just got me a new computer HP desktop with XP and everything works fantastic with the exception of Windows Movie Maker. I use it on a regualr basis to create 2d animation frame-by-frame and it is important that I have functional. Unfortunately, when I open it, it is quick to give me a window "has encountered a problem / needs to close." The debug option is useless. What is really strange is that I managed to get a very similar program called "Camtasia. This program works, although it will not play videos, even his own tutorials! Audio, however, works very well. I find as strange as Media Player plays video smoothly, seems to work on the same basis as the viewers of other programs...?
Things that I've tried, from other responses on blogs, etc. :
-Reinstall Movie maker
-Uninstalling Movie maker (it says it cannot)
-Apparently essential codec packs, one at a time, uninstall the last to avoid "clash".
-Installation of DIVX
-Remove, reinstall Adobe Flash player
-Updated Windows service pack 3
-Updated ActiveX (including suggested Internet security 'custom settings' to allow ActiveX to do his stuff by choosing prompting options
instead of being completely disabled
-Ask my technical friends, suggesting a codec problem.
I've been at this for eight hours, and this is my last ditch in order to understand this. Help, please!

Did you that you have the latest version of windows live Director? I know that you said you made xp but I do not think that windows update does movie maker go that you download from the download section of the microsoft Web site.
Let us know if you have the latest versions. I think that the older versions may not have use of mp4, but not 100% sure.

Movie Maker has been designed to download from mini-DV cameras
connected with FireWire... (they record at small cassettes... not
flash drives)The best would be to download the video files in a folder on your
hard drive... convert the WMV movie format and then import
in Movie Maker. If you connect the camera via a cable USB and go to... My computer...
It should be recognized as a drive. If it's... you can download it from
there by copy and paste or drag and drop.Good luck...

My "move" tool does not work as usual.
My move tool does not work as usual.
After pasting an image into a new model, it is impossible to move around, to position the image on a desirable location. The photo is back in the middle of the model as soon as I leave the mouse.
This is a silly question, I know... I'm sure that some button is locked or not well placed, but I can't find the solution.
It would be great if someone could give me a clue...
Thanks in advance,

=================================================
Just some general info...FWIW... the .mswmm file is just the Movie Maker project file is not
include the source of files (videos, photos, music, etc...), it records the
path to the location of origin... so even if you could open it on school
computer would be useless unless you also had copies of all sources
files. If you cannot publish the project .mswmm to .wmv movie format file
on the system that created the view may be a problem with the compatibility
the source files.Several formats are apparently compatible with Movie Maker but most
reliable choices are:Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi
Music - wma, wav, wmvAlso... it may be interesting to try to open Movie Maker and go to... Tools / Options /.
Compatibility tab and disable all filters / OK.It is possible that your project is too large and too complex for your system resources.
It may be interesting to try to create several small projects and publish each of them as
a file separate .wmv video. Then import the collection of clips .wmv in Windows
DVD Maker and each one becomes a scene (chapter). Also... you can re-import
the collection of small files in Movie Maker .wmv and combine them into a single file.John Inzer - MS - MVP - Digital Media Experience - Notice_This is not tech support_I'm volunteer - Solutions that work for me may not work for you - * proceed at your own risk *.

MyCD Rom does not work help!
In Device Manager it sayes windows cannot load device for theis hardware drivers. The driver may be corrupted or missing. Hello
Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
the question.Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.
Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.Your CD or DVD drive is missing or is not recognized by Windows or other programs

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or even if it
are you can reinstall the 'old'. Many use Windows default drivers however some special aura
ones. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
