If the source files are always blows... I blurs the faces in an image
editing program before you import the photos into Movie Maker.

If the source files are video clips... There is no blur face characteristic
from Movie Maker. However... it is possible to do it with one layer...

  • Cannot open a project in Windows Movie Maker after the backup in Windows DVD Maker

I imported with success of media in Windows Movie Maker, Movie published by using Windows DVD Maker as a guest just so that I could see how it would look.  I was able to view what I had engraved on a DVD and was very happy about how he already produces.  When I returned to Windows Movie Maker and tried to open my project to continue adding multimedia elements to it, I can't open it - it tells me that it is not a valid file in Windows Movie Maker.  Can find my project in My Documents in the category Videos, I'm still not able to open it.  I wonder if I shouldn't have saved in Windows DVD Maker.  I hope that I'm not "all over again.

I would greatly greatly appreciate it if anyone can help.  It is a very special project for a class reunion.

This is the first time I used a forum so I hope I've submitted it correctly.

    Thank you!

    NancyLouse,

Windows DVD Maker and Movie Maker store files with different file extensions.  This means that if you named the file 'file Movie Maker' and the DVD Maker 'file' file the real file names would actually file. MSWMM and file. MSDVD

To display the extensions on all the files follow these steps:
-Click on the ORB to start and Control Panel
-In Control Panel, click Classic view in the upper left corner
-Click on Folder Options, click view
-Scroll to "Hide Extensions for known Types file" and uncheck this box

The search in the folder now where you saved these files or use the search function, you should see the 2 different files.

What version of Windows are you using?  If the Windows Vista Ultimate and the file has been deleted somehow you can be lucky.

Vista Ultimate is a feature called previous versions.  To restore the file back to it's previous state, you can do a right click on the folder where the document has been stored (if the Documents may start, right-click on Documents) then go to properties

-Click the previous versions and you will see the dates corresponding to previous versions of the file you are looking at.
-Select a date and time that corresponds to when the file in this folder was in operational condition and double-click the file to open it

Find the file in the folder newly open and drag the file to your desktop (be sure not to drag to the exact location where the file was initially as not to overwrite the file).

    I hope this helps

  • Using Windows Movie Maker on the error message XP__ not indexed _ bad quality

I use Windows Movie Maker XP (version 2.1?).  I've converted and imported a lot of videos.  I have a group of short videos recorded the same day.  I (with free STROKE) converted to AVI and they play with no audio and several play accelerated.  I've then diverted to ASF and some of them imported correctly.  Most of them gave me an error message that they were not indexed.  I downloaded several things to remedy this from online forums: I uninstalled K-Lite pack codec, Expression Encoder 4, WinDVR AVI, DivFix, lame and a number of things.  That's a family movie, I spent a lot of time on it.  If anyone can help with my old hardware and software configuration at this point I'd appreciate it.  The original film seems to be of much better quality than what I am able to import.  Thank you!

The most reliable video format for Movie Maker is. WMV.

No guarantee... but the following freeware converter
    may be worth a try:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Sothink Free Video Converter
    http://www.Sothinkmedia.com/video-converter/
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

You will need to unzip the file... or you could just drag
the Setup.exe from the file out of the folder and drop it on your
    desktop and install from there.

Once installed... Open Sothink and go to... Add the files button...
Find and select the clips you want to convert.

Next... in the encoding settings... Choose... Video credits.
WMV - Windows Media Video (*.wmv).

Choose an output folder and on the left, click on the button convert.

You can experiment with other settings later but
This should help you get started.

    Good luck...

  • Try to use Windows movie maker but the error message

    Hello

I try to import a file from a folder on my computer .mpg, but it keeps giving me an error message "interface has too many methods to fire events from. What does that mean?

"... An interface has too many methods to fire events from... "a word geek, which translates as"... you try to use a MPEG-2 file in Movie Maker, and it won't import or work... ". ».

The simple answer is to stop to try and convert the file to an AVI or WMV file that will work.

Read all about it at the link below:
Movie Maker 2 - Import MPEG files
    http://www.Papajohn.org/
The left pane of the page expand "source Import movie files ', 'Video', click MPEG.

  • Movie maker and the XVid codec and conversion. VOB files.

I have converted a home video to use in movie maker a. VOB file to a XVid file. When I try to import this file filmmaker gives an error message. I installed the XVid codec, but I still get the same message.

Filmmaker only works with some .avi files?

    Error message:
Cannot import the file F:\Wedding data\Equal raw image cut\dave\VTS_01_4.avi because the necessary codec to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to re-import the file.

I managed to convert the file to a XVid, avi and wmv file and they all play. But none of them will import into WMM.
I also checked that the codecs are installed correctly.

    ==============================
Might be interesting to try to convert the VOB file to
format .wmv using the following free software:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.pcfreetime.com/
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
all the boxes on the last screen)

After downloading and installing Format Factory...
Open the program and choose an output folder...
(this is where you will find your files when they are
    converted)

Drag and drop your VOB files on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    Good luck...

  • Windows Movie Maker cut the end of the clips. Help! Why is this happening?

I don't understand why this is happening.  I used Windows Movie Maker with VISTA Home Premium often enough.  The images come from the camera I've always used.

What is the saved file format (extension)?

Sometimes corruption problems develop when projects become too big and
complex. It is best if you create several smaller projects and publish
(all of them in video format .wmv and then import the collected record)
Filegroup .wmv in DVD Maker... each clip becomes a scene
    (chapter).

  • Unspecified error Movie Maker' when the program opens__

I tried to find a simple procedure to solve this problem. It seems to be a very complex problem. I found this as a solution...

"" I had this problem and I just did the debug and found the cause in my case: I changed the folder attributes on my folder for temporary files. "" Film Maker 2.1 checks the attributes at the start and fails if the file is read-only. I guess it will also fail if the folder is missing, but I haven't checked that.

This instance of the problem is easy to fix. Go to a command prompt (start |) Programs | Accessories | Command prompt) and type

    Set

    follow-up of the Enter key

The result usually contains a line like:

    TEMP = C:\DOCUME~1\UserName\LOCALS~1\Temp

Things after the sign = is the path to the temporary file folder. You must change directory to the folder relative to the temporary folder (usually C:\DOCUME~1\UserName\LOCALS~1) by running the command

    CD C:\DOCUME~1\UserName\LOCALS~1

    follow-up of the Enter key

Then verify that the Temp folder exists by using the dir command. If it does not exist, create it using

    MD temp

    follow-up of the Enter key

In my case, the record was there, but the attributes included the indicator of read-only, so I reset the attributes by running the command

    attrib - r + a s h Temp

    follow-up of the Enter key

Start Movie Maker and it works.

Note: you can perform all of the steps above using Windows Explorer, if you do not use the default settings to hide files system etc, but it is easy by using the command prompt.

I can't change the attributes of the mentioned directory.

I'm afraid I might do more bad then good.

The casue of the problem has been properly identified?

Is there a procedure that actually works for my system?

    Hi Starbassfishing,

This problem may occur because of file corruption and why a (sfc scan) System File Checker has been proposed.

After return the result of the sfc scan.
