Movie Maker won't save, reached 1% recorded and blocks indefinitely.

Tried on two machines. Project includes a 26 MB WMV 3minute14second (recorded a series of slides under WMV PPT in PowerPoint) and 3 MB MP3 audio file that I need to save as a single film. Tried to save as H.264 and WMV with the same results... a pop dialog box where it says "Step 1 of 1", reached 1% and will sit down again there indefinitely. Complete deadlock, it is a screenshot of how it appears: http://i.imgur.com/k0rby.jpg

  • Windows movie maker won't save or burn to a cd

I worked for 3 days, set up a movie with pictures and sound. When I go to save on the computer or save it on a cd, he gives a status bar that never changes to 0% and below it is a counter that indicates the remaining minutes. This counter goes well to the top instead of the bottom. the film that I put in place was about 25 minutes and I left the pc 9 hours and the minute was contrary to 3 600 000 minutes go. record in DV - AVI format. I will paste the instructions below.

Also, it may be worth trying to go to... Tools / Options / Compatibility

  • Windows XP SP3 Movie Maker won't save

When I try to back up / finish my film on my PC I have the following error: unable to save film to the desired location.  Check the source of origin used in your movie are still available, that the backup location is still available, and that there is enough available disk space, and then try again.

I confirmed and reconfirmed each of these are true, original source is available, backup location is still available and there is enough available disk space - but it always displays this error.  Any suggestions?

    Some suggestions just to get.
Try other locations. easy to move again later if it works.
If it is very detailed, it may be too much all at once, so save it in

Sometimes, so really, I have written the source of many times and rearranged
It would reach a kind of limit. If this is the case, start with the source
cut into even pieces and after getting something that you like, save it.
start a new piece with who finished first, and then build from there.
It's such a fun program, wait until you get the version of win7. It is obtained
better transitions and wide screen HD options. It is more difficult to change with the storyboard segmented table and reset after each recording legends, which, for a 3-4 minute song
60 times picking means "BOLD", size, color, length, and method, but the video is
the main goal, instead of just a small place. Best pre installed program ever.
I even made my ringtones with it.

  • Project Windows Movie Maker won't play in Windows Media Player

I created a 'film' in Windows Movie Maker - not a bad little program.  I used to be a professional video tape, and you can do things with Movie Maker and that you can't do with the edition of tape cassette - even in a television station in a big city.

The film plays well in Movie Maker, but he won't play in Windows Media Player (Version 11).  I have Vista Home Version on my computer.

I want to be able to send e-mail to friends and family who do not have Windows Movie Maker - but have Windows Media Player (not sure which versions have all my friends).  Until now, whenever I try to play the movie in Media Player, I get the following message:

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file.

When I click on the "get help from web" button, it takes me to this page:

This page does not give me the solution to the problem and gives me no option to download/install the codec I need.  I don't know what a codec is and don't really care to know.    I just need to know:

    Should which codec I?

    Where can I download it?

What are the two products of Microsoft.  Can they be compatible?  One of the options presented during "editing" the file is to be sent by e-mail.  Not much good if the e-mail recipient is unable to play.

I can also play the movie using Real Player or I-Tunes - but it of okay for me if they work in these players or not, since my friends and family would be no players on their computers.

Maybe you just save the project that creates a .mswmm file.
This file is no longer usable in Movie Maker for re - editing purposes.

Republish the project in the format of video .wmv and you
He can play in Windows Media Player.

Three possible causes of the failure to save:

    (1) the incompatible source files... (eventually... MPG or MP3)
Sometimes it is useful to disable the filters... Tools / Options /.
Compatibility tab... Uncheck all the boxes / OK.

Several formats are apparently compatible with
Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
    Video - wmv
    Audio - wav, wma, wmv

    (2) files source corrupted... the only solution for this would be to
Remove the source files of the project one at a time and
try to save each time until the problem file is discovered.

    (3) project is too big or too complex for system resources.
Create several small projects... Save as WMV.
Then re - import WMV files collected / drag in the timeline
    and record the final movie.

    Just some thoughts...

This happens usually when the source files are
not totally compatible and also may be linked
    transitions.

In Movie Maker, you could try to go into tools.
Options / Compatibility tab and disable all
    the filters.

Also you can try to convert your source files
    to different formats.

Movie Maker, but the most reliable choices are:

    Photos - bmp
Video - wmv or dv - avi

  • Windows Movie Maker won't play .mpg - files.

When I import a mpg file in Windows Movie Maker, I can hear the audio but can't see the video. It is particularly strange, because my mpg files work well in Windows Media Player.  What can I do? I have installed hundreds of codecs and it still does not work.

    Audio--> OK
    Video--> NO

Windows Media Player--> video + audio
Windows Movie Maker--> audio (NO video)?

    Hi tom,

Thanks for using the Community Forums of Microsoft for Vista.

Normally, something like that, the problem is resolved by downloading and reinstalling the latest MS codec packs.

In this case, however, I think the problem is conflicting codec installations.

I think you should start by restoring the system running and to cancel most of the codec installations. Go back to the extent that is reasonable and see if that helps.

If not, then download the latest codec for your multimedia player by Microsoft and see if that does the trick.

I think that will do, let us know whether.
