moving iTunes library to a new location, then the old location is no longer available

I just restored the iTunes folder and all subfolders, including multimedia content of amy (music, videos,...), on a drive hard new, because the old hard drive is broken.

So, now, for every song, iTunes tells me "the song... couldn't be used because the original file cound not be found. You want to locate? ». Hope, I don't have to do this for every song in my library... What can I do?

Go to iTunes > Preferences > advanced. At the top is where the location of your iTunes library is specified. Click on edit and then specify the new location

The license agreement that you signed up to you to have two machines with enabled facilities.

The option to turn off depends on which version of Lightroom, it is.  Anything older than that version 6 has no option - simply reinstall and activate if necessary.

  • Move iTunes library to a different location on the computer

    Hello

I use the latest version of iTunes running on MacBook Air El Capitan. I'd like to keep my music library on my Mac itself that I travel and may or may not have connectivity.

Now, my library grew to about 45 GB and get the crisis for space on my MacBook.

Question: I have an extra car for the MacBook and you want to move my entire library over there, but don't know how to do without adding all the files again. (I have 45 GB of songs but only 65 to 70% of it are added to ITunes). Also note that I have disabled the option move files added to the iTunes folder.

    Thank you

    Méhul

Moving a library: quick response if you use preferences by default iTunes settings: copy the folder integer iTunes (and to ensure that all of its subfolders and files) intact at the other disk, hold down the option/alt key (shift on Windows) keys to start iTunes and on request to select a library select iTunes Library.itl file in the copied folder. Open a different iTunes library file or create a new one - https://support.apple.com/HT201596

However, you say that you have disabled iTunes organize media. I too use this setup and moved to my library from player to player, but I did pass my HDD and the system to another drive. I suspect since you use songs outside the normal structure that iTunes must use the addressing very specific to keep track of these files and this address should not remain the same on the new drive.  You do not specify files scattered how are.  You can (or not) find that copy the folder iTunes main and all the individual media files wherever they are exactly the same directory structure, more to appoint the external drive exactly the same thing that your internal drive doesn't work. Moving a library to another drive when the Manager media yourself is not something iTunes like and is a consequence of do you things like that.

  • Help!  Large iTunes library split into two locations, how to fix?

Long ago, I told iTunes to store its iTunes Media on a NAS file and I copied the iTunes folder all my D: to the NAS unit.  I also said iTunes to keep organized records and copy files of music added to the NAS.

I just found out by examining the XML file that iTunes thinks about half of my music files (~ 7,000 of them) are located on the D: drive and other ~ 7 000 are there where I want it all, on the NAS.  Number of files on the NAS which I however contained artist/album music files are empty; the files appear to have been erased and are still on the D: drive where the XML points to them.  Management of iTunes files (XML. ITL, etc..) iTunes is now current are also on the D: drive... those on the NAS are not kept up to date.

I thought my massive library - countless hours to rip my CD - safe on the multi-plate RAID NAS.  Goes, if I lose my D: drive (which I was backup is no longer) I lose half of my library and all of my iTunes administrative folders.  Ouch!

How can I get safely iTunes exclusively use the SIN for all the data files and of the administration?

If I re - copy data from D: to the NAS and edit the XML file to point to the NAS for all files, iTunes will not even watch D: for the management of the library?  How can I do forget d everything?

Thanks in advance for any help.

By modifying the file XML will not help at all - iTunes only writes to this file, the bed ever.  Assuming that all of your media plays correctly then you should be able to consolidate your library (file > library > organize library > consolidate files).  This will copy all the multimedia files that are not in the iTunes media folder location specified in Edit > Preferences > advanced to this location.  Note, however, that many reports suggest that iTunes + SIN is not an ideal combination; You can be better to use a standard external drive for your library and use the NAS device for backups.  You can also watch the advice to user turingtest2 on do a split cell library for more details on the optimization of available to your library.

  • How to merge an old iTunes library on a new iTunes download

I just got a new PC and downloaded iTunes.  I copied the files and my folders of music as well as the old library on the new iTunes folder files, but they do not appear in iTunes. The only options to import the music that I can find (wants to import my music files instead of simply select a whole folder (with subfolders).  Any help appreciated.

And please tell me why this is so difficult?  I've done several times over the years and it's a royal pain in the end every time.  I have to do something wrong because no piece of software this mature could be this difficult to use.  In the hope it is an 'easy way' that I just keep missing.

    Thanks in advance.

Launch iTunes with the SHIFT key, and then choose the old library.

  • Download my iTunes library to a new Mac

    Hello

I bought a new MacBook and want to download my entire iTunes library so that I can use it offline (in flight, etc.). Is it possible to do this without having to individually click each album, one by one?

    Thank you

Is it possible to do this without having to individually click each album, one by one?

So, it looks like you have a music to iCloud library, a subscription to Match iTunes or Apple music (or both).  Is this correct?

If so, you can download a large selection of songs at the same time (instead of one by one).  Show your library iTunes music with the view of songs , so that you see a simple list with columns.  If you do not see the column download iCloud , make visible (right click on the header row in the list of songs to show/hide columns).  The column download iCloud is narrow, with a cloud symbol in its title.  The songs that are not currently stored on the local storage of your Mac have a symbol of the cloud with the arrow pointing down , which you can click to download this song.

BUT, instead of clicking on the cloud next to each song, sort the list of songs by the iCloud download column (click on the header of the column download iCloud ).  All the songs with the symbol of the cloud are displayed together.  To select all at once, click the first song with cloud(), press on and hold the SHIFT key and click the last song with cloud.  Clicked both songs and all the songs in the meantime are selected at the same time.  Right-click on the selection and download.

  • How can I keep my iTunes library to a new installation of iTunes?

    Hello

I got a new SSD and re-installed Windows 7 and all my software, including iTunes.

I have my iTunes Library (iTunes Media folder) on a data reader and now I reinstalled iTunes and I want to keep the old library, so in the preferences, I put my iTunes library to the path leading to my old iTunes library, but the music still does not appear in iTunes. The only music that shows it's the music purchased from the iTunes store, but no CD-imports are shown.

I hope someone can help me with this,

    Thanks in advance!

    Lars

If you have the iTunes database files, launch iTunes with the SHIFT key pressed and select the library that contain. If you can't seem to them, made the iTunes Media folder inside the application window open iTunes or automatically add to iTunes folder; all the old library metadata that are lost.

  • Are there plans to allow access of Sonos to match iTunes library without having to subscribe to the Apple's music?

Wanting to use my iTunes game subscription with Sonos speakers but the only way to do this currently is with Apple's music subscription. Seems pretty easy for Apple to do this job if you can do this through Apple music account.

  • How to replace a new HDD with the old?

    Original title: new HARD drive

IM installing a new hard drive to replace my old. How can I reinstall windows 7 with all my files and programs?

    Here are a few options:

    • Create an image of the old disk, and then restore that image to the new drive.
    • Use a third-party disk cloning tool.

The first option requires a good dose of experience. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you.

  • Need to Exchange new logo for the old logo

Hello. I don't know if this question belongs in this forum or another, but here goes.

I have a .pdf file I want to use in a presentation next week. The problem is, we have not used this .pdf, we changed our logo. How to switch it on only one image on another?

And Yes, I'm fairly new to Photoshop and all of its elements, so that you know.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It's something you want to do in Acrobat (the application, not Adobe/Acrobat Reader) or in the application that was used originally of page layout and create the PDF, as InDesign presentation.

You want to use for Photoshop (or Illustrator) is to create or adjust the image you want to use for the new logo. When you have the logo as you like, then you use Acrobat or whatever layout request to insert (or link to...) the new logo in place of the old. Then generate you a NEW PDF.
