  If I'm not wrong then the Oracle 9i database is out of support since juil.-2007. JDeveloper and ADF certifies and supports the unsupported database versions or operating systems. So I hope that answers the "why". The real solution is to upgrade the database, because that's the reason that will block you for what your client is to move forward.

  With all the RV releases so far, for vCenter for vCenter replications, VRMS version must match the source and target site (only this configuration is officially tested and supported), for example:

  1.0.x <->1.0.x.

  5.1.x <->5.1.x.

  5.5.x <->5.5.x.

  5.6.x <->5.6.x.

  5.8.x <->5.8.x.

  6.0.x <->6.0.x.

  6.1.x <->6.1.x.

  For vCenter to vCloud Air DRaaS replication, there is no such restriction.

  LEVEL FORMAT setting

  This setting works very similar to the FORMAT of OUTPUT and should be used when replicating between different versions of Oracle GoldenGate. There are currently 3 LEVEL of FORMAT parameters in Oracle GoldenGate 10.4.

  LEVEL 0 FORMAT, is compatible with version 9.5.
  LEVEL 1 FORMAT, is compatible with version 10.0.
  LEVEL 2 FORMAT, is compatible with version 10.4.
  Example, when the extract is 10.4 and Replicat 10.0, extraction of parameter file must contain FORMAT LEVEL 1, so that the trails are written in a format that is compatible with the process of Replicat 10.0.

  Better to upgrade your version of gg 10 to 11.2 as environment target.
