  The upgrade Setup program tries to detect the eligible previous version in order to continue the installation. In the case where it cannot detect the previous version, you can use the serial number of the suite CS4 and installation should continue without any problem.

  What is the error message?  You can install version 3 without having to install version 2.  You'll just need the serial number of the version 2, when you go to turn on version 3.
