Hello, MontFly

While Ramesh Srinivasan, information on how to solve such a problem is - as always - very useful, it might be useful to examine exactly why a user observes this behavior.  This can happen for several reasons, and the problem is common enough that Microsoft has produced a Fixit (50542) automated troubleshooting for Windows XP which is widely applicable for Vista and 7 FixIt 50542 appear in both article KB266668 "Add / Remove Programs displays incorrectly installed programs' and also via the options appropriate to the CARPET (Microsoft Automated troubleshooting solutions) Fixit Center (where much) many other problems can also be addressed to 'automatically').

Users who want to understand some technical aspects behind this problem may wish to read the

Seven sons of Forums "Windows 7: Control Panel, uninstall programs"and the thread in Forum Windows "programs installed lack of features & programs in the control panel".»

I find that users experience more common four reasons have this problem on their computers

to do with poorly written program from 3rd party installers and/or uninstall programs, injudicious use of the features of Piriform "registry cleanup" CCleaner & other "registry cleaners", aggressive interaction of solutions anti-virus installed programs and/or the Windows operating system and infection by malicious software.  I would be so bold to ask which antivirus program you use?

  • Control Panel shows that 4 GB of RAM, but product specs say I should have 8GB

My HP Pavilion Elite HPE-250f desktop computer is supposed to get 8 GB of the RAM factory installed, but the control panel shows only 4 GB. When I run the diagnostic with the Support Assistant software it says that everything is working well, but also shows that 4 GB of RAM. I've had the computer for several months and the warranty just expired. In the past, I noticed it says 4 GB and thought that I should have bought a computer with only 4 GB, but it has always seemed strange to me. I looked towards the top of the record online and it says the HPE-250f has of 8 GB, and it also says 8 GB on the box in which it came. I didn't do any changes to the computer and never open the Cabinet. I hesitate to open the cupboard, but do not feel I should have to pay a lot of money to understand this.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

It took me a few tries - and months of frustration - but I solved the problem by carefully removing the memory cards, clean gently slots and cards and firmly the resettlement of the cards. It's been several months now, but the memory has been resolved. I had serious problems, as it is stated in this thread, with a catastrophic failure of the graphics card and HARD disk failure. I read on several posts that this particular graphics card was problematic, so I've upgraded to a Radeon HD 7700 series. I got the Core edition, which has 2 GB of memory defect to 1 GB. No problem since.

In case of hard drive failure, it was a disaster! I replaced the HARD drive of 1 TB with a 512 GB SSD, but it kept the infection by a rootkit that I couldn't clean up. I tried cleaners virus and rootkit of several software companies with no joy. Not even the first products like Kaspersky, McAfee, Sophos, BitDefender and other companies. I reformatted the drive several times, but the hook came back in return. Finally, I brought the computer to a friend who is a computer SCIENCE professional. The rootkit probably lies in the commercial cloning software (Acronis True Image HD) that came with the SSD, it said. We loaded the operating system without using Acronis and have not had any problems since! I've also installed a WD Blue 1 TB HDD and rebuilt directories so that all libraries (Documents, photos, videos, etc.) are on the disk hard while the system is installed on the solid state drive. The upgrades were worth every penny! Now, my desktop HP 5 years computer works very well and the performance is very good even by today's standards. Boot times are much faster, too.

Glad to know that you fixed the ink of related issues. If you still encounter display problems, it could be more likely a hardware failure with the machine.

I would contact HP tech support to create a service if the printer is under warranty. Alternatively, you can call technical support so that the good options to upgrade, you can benefit if your printer is already out of warranty.

That being said, I have scanned for viruses and spyware (as suggested on other sites). Still nothing.

    HERE'S WHAT OF ODD.
After a reboot and the control panel will not be opened (as well as My Documents, search, Recycle Bin, my computer, etc) I have right, click on start, properties tab of the Menu start customize key, your advanced, and select control panel - display as a link (IT IS ALREADY SELECTED) click OK and apply. Hi I.Saenz,

    1. did you of recent changes on the computer?

2 when was the last time it was working fine?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

Remote procedure call (RPC) is a part of Windows programs, which is "an interprocess communication technique that allows the software client and server to communicate." CPP is designed to provide a common interface between applications, making it easy for programs to communicate with the servers.

  • Control Panel; Does not open programs and features.

Help! Programs and features in Control Panel does not open. It's as if the file is no longer there.

    Hello

I had the same problem, caused by an update of thugs. I had to do a repair installation to fix the problem. For this,.

    1. Start your Windows computer.
    2. Insert your Windows system DVD into the DVD drive.
    3. Once there either using Windows Explorer or AutoPlay navigate Windows system disc and double-click on the file called "Setup.exe".
    4. Let Windows boot phase review and collection, when that is complete, Windows continues to install Windows 7 on your existing installation of Windows 7. If there is a problem, Windows will give you the opportunity to continue or back out (I would recommend back out).
    5. Once installation is complete, you will need to then activation key, then go to Windows Update and precede to download and install all the WU you miss.

That's all. It takes more time to make that a full install as Windows must work around your installed files. But it is the method that worked for me.

Let me know if this solves the problem for you.

    Kind regards

  • Win 7 Prof 64 bit, devices and printers Control Panel does not load

When I try to open the devices and printer Panel, it opens initially but shows not all devices. The status bar at the top slips slowly into overall but never reaches the end to load completely. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of all my printer drivers (using the manufactures installation routines. Research in various forums talk about start/stop the bluetooth services, but none of this helps.

I created another user account and when I connect it, devices and printers opens OK.

I could live with that if it wasn't for the fact that I can't disconnect safely from my drive external hard usb. When I right click on the icon "safely remove hardware and eject Media" on my task bar the only option I have is 'Open devices and printers' and then I'm back to my original problem. The list of the menu I receive when I right click on the drive in WIndows Exploxer does not include a choice of ejection (it does for a flash drive, but not my hard drive).
(I have a laptop with Win 7 64 bit installed and it shows devices connected when I right click on the icon "safely remove...) »).

I tried to turn off nonMicrosoft al and restart services but still having the same problem. In the past, I had run CCleaner to clean the registry (no, I did not indicate a restore point) and I saw on a forum how that could have created the problem. I have since deleted CCleaner

I use Avast Antivirus, Windows firewall, SnagIt and Cobian backup. Short of re - install Win 7 (please, no) or by creating a new user and all displacement there (not even sure how to do this) is anyone know how to fix this? Or at least how I can safely disconnect my drive hard usb without messing up his data?

Then as indicated, the user profile is corrupted

  • My control panel shows only one user, but when I start it shows two users on the logon screen. and I know no other password

My control panel shows only one user, but when I start it shows two users on the logon screen. My user is an administrator. But I do not know password of another user. I am currently using as an administrator. But I also want other user password. Answer please

Your machine has only two accounts: admin and guest. I saw a few messages before which the poster makes an additional account on the log on screen that does not exist. Since there is not, it cannot be used.

Also note that you play a game at high risk, having only one administrator account. This forum deals daily with posters including one and only the admin account went bad for one reason or other. Something about it now while you can: create, test, and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare emergency House key.

  • Some features in the Control Panel does not start

Original title: some feauters on Control Panel do not open

my computer laptop OS is windows 8

When I open my control panel functions are not open

    options, troubleshooting, customization of power

Pleas give me a few tips, how can I do to fix

    Hello Kiran,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community Forum.

According to the description, I understand that some features don't not throw in Control Panel. I'll be happy to help you with your query. However, let me ask you a few questions to better understand the issue and assist you accordingly.

    1. What happens when you try to start the service, as said above?
    2. You receive an error message? If Yes, what is the exact and complete error message?
    3. You did any hardware/software specific change in the computer before the show?
    4. You use any third-party antivirus installed on your computer program?

The issue may have been caused due to conflicts between third-party software. Try these steps and see if they help.

Step 1: Start in safe mode

With the parameters of Windows startup screen (formerly advanced startup options), you can start Windows in different advanced troubleshooting modes, so you can find and fix problems on your PC. In previous versions of Windows, you might get to the screen by pressing F8 before Windows starts. Windows 8 PCs starts quickly, so there is no enough time to press F8.

See the article: Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)

Step 2: Perform the clean boot

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

See the link to perform the clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

N OTE: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

From now on, try the steps above and check that if these functions of launch and let us know the result so that the answers to the questions, we will be happy to help you further.

    Thank you.
