First step is to run DISM instructions that are at the end of this wiki. I suspect that if the icons are the only issue, you can simply remove the icon cache and let it rebuild, but SFC results indicate other problems

Icons are not displayed properly in Gmail when the zoom level is between 150 and 200%
Icons in Gmail will not correctly displayed in Firefox at all zoom levels. The problem does not occur in less than 150% zoom levels or levels of zoom to 200% or more. Levels of zoom between (150%) correct icons are not displayed until the mouse passes on their location.
The attached pictures show screen shots to 140% (OK), 150% (problems shown, before moving the mouse), 150% (problems shown, after moving the mouse), 190% (problems) and 200% (now OK again)
The problem was not resolved by disabling extensions, go to mode without failure or update Firefox.
Firefox and extensions/plugins are all fully patched.
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
- Tools > Options > advanced > General > Browsing: "use hardware acceleration when available.
You will need to close and restart Firefox after enabling/disabling this setting.

For years, my desktop icons have acted as if they have so many 'slots' to enter in on the office. But this has never been a problem. They were easier to align because they were right next to each other, or a 'slot' above/below/apart.
Now, for some reason, I can travel distances of small icons on the desktop, as if they were scalar elements which can be minimally pushed open. Suddenly there are not more "slots", and sort of paradoxically icons are more difficult to assemble and align because I have to keep their repositioning so that they are straight. Before, they were either straight, or a whole notch offline.
It is NOT correct. Right-click and select Show , and then turn on Align

my pdf file icons are now html firefox icons
Question: PC think files PDF is HTML documents even if only I can get him to open in Adobe. I followed the instructions in several of these posts, with the exception of the removal of profiles, but nothing has changed. I still XP, if I followed the path, Control Panel, folder options and go to the tab that indicates the Types of files, then highlight PDF, it is said, you have customized files with PDF extension, to restore these files to their default type (Firefox HTML Document) click on restore. So currently they are open in Adobe, however all the icons are firefox. Every single PDF, not only those who have been downloaded on the net, I created some of these myself with PDF995. I don't want to spoil anything, I changed the way Mozilla handles PDF in tools, options, under the application. I think it is a problem of mozilla because under the Mozilla options, their PDF icon is the icon for mozilla.
Hello Orleanslady, it works when you enter in the Acrobat > edit > Preferences > General & click on the application by default option at the bottom? to reselect it adobe application and confirm this selection...

In the search in the top right of my browser, I recently added Wikipedia and Wikivoyage as options, but the icons are not there. Instead, I have a blank white page instead of the icons. How can I fill them in?
This also happens on my laptop which is a Macbook Air, so it's not limited to the Windows 7 version of Firefox.
When there is no data icon in the XML file, then Firefox will be able to display such an icon.
Try adding on Mycroft Project website search engines.

Update of Firefox, and now all of the web pages and icons are inflated. How do I put back it as it was?
Hello
Firefox on Windows is now after display, scaling options that can make the biggest text on screens at high resolution.
You can adjust the resolution of your screen.
To change it follow these steps:- Type of topic: config in the Firefox address bar and hit the Enter key.
- If the warning that this might void your warranty , click I'll be careful, I promised.
- Search for layout.css.devPixelsPerPx
- Double-click layout.css.devPixelsPerPx to edit its value. The default value is - 1.0 in Firefox 22 and above. Change it to 1.0 to run as in previous versions of Firefox.
If necessary, further adjust the value of 0.1 or 0.05. Values between 1.0 and around 0.5 to reduce the size of the elements. Use a value greater than 1.0 to increase the size. For example, a value of 1.25 will increase the font size of the 125% to account for the default DPI setting in Windows 8. Check the value that you enter. Definition of a value that is too small will take everything away and too high will explode things.
If the web pages should always be adjusted so you can watch the extension Default FullZoom Level or NoSquint .
To adjust the font size for the user interface, you can use the extension of theme font & size changer .
This solve your problems? Please report to us!
Thank you.

FF 14 Site identity icons are missing
I use "Firefox 3 theme for Firefox 4 +'."
The identity of the site and plugins-click-to-play icons are missing.I would be happy to know what files are default theme needs to be copied.
Thank you.
(I asked the developer remedy).
Hello
Please note that the site identity feature has been changed and it would appear prominently on really secure sites.
The plugins.click_to_play is an "opt-in" feature from now and must be activated manually Subject: config. So, now there is a button/icon/preference UI.

When I upgraded to Firefox 9.0.1 I lost many of my bookmark icons. Now the icons are just empty boxes. How can I get back my icons? Thank you!

I just upgraded to Firefox 8 and so far I hate it. The biggest problem is that all the icons are just dark gray blobs, that I can't read. I don't know which version I was running before, but the arrow to the left and the "home" button and all the rest were bright and clear and readable. Now, I can't even read what is in the address window.
How to bring back the bright look?
Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.
Try another theme of Firefox (Tools > Modules > appearance/themes):
- Firefox 3 theme for Firefox 4: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/firefox-3-theme-for-firefox/

My own Google Map icons are not visible in Firefox 8
I have lots of Google Maps on my site, and they contain icons by default Google and my own icons, each with its own URL. They work fine in all other browsers and Firefox 7. However, yesterday, I loaded Firefox 8. 8 Firefox Google the default icons are still visible, but my own icons are now invisible, but their placeholders are still there. They are still visible in other browsers. In addition, if, now, I try and add one of my icons on a map, the process seems to work fine, including a landmark name appears, but the icon is invisible. The invisible icon is certainly there because you can click on the marker and be caught in the right position on the map for editing, but the icon is not visible.
Thank you.

Icons are disabled in a certain area of the browser window. The region starts below the firefox toolbar about 1 inch in length (in the direction towards the bottom) and extends from left to right. All icons in this area are not functional, including those of firefox itself for example the close of favorites in the Sidebar icon.

All the addon icons are missing in the window customize
I use FF 3.6.18 on XP, Vista and Win7. Given that FF itself upgrade 3.6.18, Miss all kinds of icons of the addon. Needless to say most of the addons cannot work unless that icon there to click. When I went to the [toolbar Customize] window to drag the icons réécrirait tool/menu/status bars, I find that ALL my icons missing addon. The FF default icons are there, but all the addon icons are missing. I've seen a lot of messages from people with the same problem as FF4 running, but it is not only a problem with version 4. Most of the answers provided were advised going to the window to customize and dragging that icons back out - obviously written by people who have not been read the question very carefully. Others recommend clicking the [restore default icons] button. They did not read the question with much attention either. I have this problem on my PC, those running XP, Vista and 7. Yes, I already ran ladies of virus and spyware, and that has not helped one of my PCs. reinstall the addons is no help either. Since the problem is on all of my PCs in various operating systems and upgraded to FF4 seems to make things worse, it looks like a bug in FF. Most of my friends who use Firefox have the same problem. It is a bug, or is it repairable? Does anyone know how to solve this?
After, with great difficulty, eliminating the motor leads from my system, I tried half a dozen other things, but ultimately never gave up is fixed without wiping my hard drive clean. However, the latest update of Firefox (3.6.24) solved the problem! on all my computers! Don't know what you people at Mozilla has done, but thank you, thank you, thank you. No idea what caused the problem, or what fixed it, but it's a happy camper now.
