My Favorites from a previous computer located in a folder marked of a star called "Favorites". How can I do a new installation of Firefox to find them?

My computer died. I'm rebuilding my stuff on another old computer. I downloaded Firefox 3.6 on the new machine. I found that my old favorites on the old drive into a folder with an icon star yellow called 'Favorites '. I can see them all in this folder. I can move this folder anywhere. Where to go? Is there another place to search for bookmarks or Favorites backup? The old disk seems to be pretty much ok, so I can access everything that used to be there. The location of the Favorites folder is C:/documents and settings/ed/favorites.

Those who are not bookmarks in Firefox, the Favorites folder is. Firefox bookmarks are stored in a file called places.sqlite in the profile folder. You can copy this file in our current profile folder. For more information on the location of the profile folder and other files, you can recover, see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox and https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Recovering+important+data+from+an+old+profile

Acro 7 is not compatible with Win 7, in any case, what you are doing would be a waste of time. Upgrade to Acrobat X or for time using reader and another creation of PDF and editing tools.

  • My computer turns on once a week automatically during the night. How can I stop this from happening? Thanks Gunter

    Hello
I bought a used desktop computer. After setting it up again to what I had before I find the computer comes on every Saturday night at the same time. How can I stop this from happening?
If anyone has an answer for me please give him in singles and not "computer language".
    Thank you
    Gunter

Your best course of action would be to do a complete new installation of Windows.  Not sure how this computer has been maintained or used.  She could have anything whatsoever thereon against malware of illegal material.

Although the automatic turn on every Saturday night is probably trivial (for example, some application checking to see if there are updates), it could be malware "phone home" with your personal information (bank accounts, passwords, etc.).

This TechNet article provided by 'Support' engineer is not likely to be useful for you.  For Windows XP (you posted your question in a Windows XP forum), open scheduled as follows:

Click Start > click on all programs > point to Accessories > tap System Tools > and then click scheduled tasks.

Review each of the tasks listed to determine what they are doing.  You can then decide if you want to remove one of them.  You should consider, however, that there may be other mechanisms that cause your computer turn on as you describe.

When Outlook Express 6 detects emails from a name in the right column indicates the folder in which it is in. How can you tell which folder this folder is located in?

OE does not have the capacity to tell you where the folder is located in the folder hierarchy.  You can select different trees under local folders to find what subfolder is and what kind of tree it is under.  Unless folders.dbx is corrupted (which happens a bit), then OE will not create folders for you.  If folders.dbx is corrupt or not, I would suggest that you backup the files and the registry (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#6) before things become corrupt, because you seem to have a complex organization from your e-mail folders.

I received an e-mail from continual e appearing in my Inbox, no sender no 01/01/1970 content, how can I get rid of it?

Try to activate the market account: settings > Mail, Contacts, calendars, and then tap the account on the right-hand side of the screen, on the Mail to 'off' popup slide, exit settings and return to the Mail application, then return to the settings and drag the mail back to 'on '.

If this is not set then try to close the Mail application via the bar of multitasking to the iPad: double-click the home button to open the taskbar and then slide or drag the application Mail 'screen' upward and on the top of the screen to close and click the home button to close the taskbar.

Also to do a soft reset: press and hold buttons sleep and home for 10-15 seconds (ignore the red cursor), after which should appear the Apple logo - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent iPad for a reboot.
