My files media-Cache-clogged my ssd drive. How can I get rid of them?

Hi, I have a few problems with my first Pro CS5 (with all the new free updates installed) on Windows 7 64 bit (up to date also). (I'm German btw. If that makes it easier to help you)

I just added a large number of videomaterial (SLR digital canon h264 fullhd) in my new project (dslr 1920 25 p) in first Pro CS5 and suddenly you have a lot of errors at the bottom right. The hard drive (my bootdisc) ran out of memory and I had only 6 MB left. I didn't know that I had the storageplace for the media cache files.

I immediately changed the two directories for these files after import has been over at my other big hard disks P: and clicked on something like "move the existing files. Unfortunately, this did not have the files to move and I've always had between 600 KB and 30 MB of space on my bootdrive.

Now, I deleted some other files since I can't access the folder to delete or move the files in cache-media-by myself. And I am logged on as an administrator. I'm afraid that my PC does not start with to little space on my ssd bootdrive left and am afraid to start again the CS5 first, since I don't have a lot of other things to delete if sth. won't again.

Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? How can I get rid of 50 GB of cache-files-media on C:? Please let me know if you do!

Greetings,

OLE

Since I've had 500 MB left I risked to restart the computer and files were deleted just by restarting I guess. Now, I'm still 18 GB free. Thanks a lot for your help! I deleted a file I accidentally created this way and now a gb. :-)

My computer is running very slowly and I need to get rid of some files, especially those that I don't use. How can I start I am 70 years old and computer iliterate

The best thing to do is to do nothing.

Deleting the files from your pc won't have a significant effect on improving the performance.

If the computer is running slowly, there could be a variety of reasons for this.

You should also be more specific about what, exactly, is running slowly, arguably, for example, that it took WORD 20 seconds to open: that way, we know that it is the WORD that is slow and not something else.

Take a look at these articles that can provide you with more insight on performance issues that you are experiencing: -.

ATTENTION: If you make any changes do the easy ones first, make sure that they work and that there are no problems after having made the changes that you could make: perhaps wait a week and then continue on the next amendment.

If you are computer illiterate, as you say you are, then proceed with caution.

  • XP unknown files consumed 71%, 52 GB of my hard drive. How can I get rid of them.

Last month, my hard drive is full of unknown files. The magnitude became visible when I ran WinDirStat.

I reduced the space allocated for the restore system to the basket and 2% to 2% Points. No significant impact.

I stopped and restarted the system restore. No significant impact. I turned it then turn back.

I ran MS cleaning disk before and after the change of the other Options to remove all but the most recent System Restore Point. No significant impact.

I ran Auslogics Disk Defragmenter that revealed the paths, sizes and file names. I am unable to make a copy of the list, but it contains a ton of files, many of them up to + 400 MB. The following selection all have paths that include "SystemRestore".

    _Registry_Machine_Software
    Snapshot
    Data44
    22 data (more)
    Objects.Data

    A0065793.dll
    A0065796.dll (more)
    RP1202
    RP1205 (more)

What should do? My system seems to be about to become unusable.

    Thank you.

    This is unusual.

Files, and system restore points are all contained in the "hidden doubling: directory
    C:\System Volume Information\_restore {}...-
None of the paths include the text "SystemRestore".

Access to this directory is strictly limited by default and "WinDirStat" cannot be used to watch this directory without help.

"Access to the System Volume Information folder"

To completely remove your restore points and start over with a new restore point, simply turn off System Restore and then turn it back on...

"How to disable and enable the system restore in Windows XP"

My guess is that the files that you see are not system restore area and are completely useless.  If these files are all under a common directory, try to rename this directory to something different and restart your machine.  If your machine continues to run well, then these files probably aren't necessary and can be deleted.  If your system does not work well, you should be able to start safe mode and rename the directory back.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 uses old deleted files: How can I get rid of them?

    Hello world

This is my first post... I have a problem which is really annoying. Using Dreamweaver CS6 on desktop Win 7-64 bit, I had outside assistance to transfer a website in html5 and CSS3. When the site was almost finished, I have imported the entire site and worked on it by myself using Dreamweaver CS6. This worked well, until I again had outside help in the index.html file. I imported the new index.html file which worked on the outside, but dreamweaver does not allow this: he continues to show the old index.html file that I had deleted before, even when I try to re - import the site etc. The web, I found that it might be useful to delete the history of files using regedit. I did and also tried my best remove every vestige of the old version, aftzer, used CCleaner and Tuneup Utilities 2014, and even once, it did not help. I thought then that the only way would be for installing Dreamweaver CS6, still clean my computer to any what rest probably filed or files .bak and then after several raises and processes of cleaning, I have re-installed Dreamweaver CS6, in the hope that it works now. However, new Dreamweaver came up with the same problem. Somewhere in the mists of your hard drive, dramweaver must always have access to the long deleted files and even once does not allow me to work on the new corrected index.html file. Anyone of you have any idea how I can get this working properly? Thank you so much in advance and greetings from the Lake District Salzburg, Giraldus

    Mr Hans-Günter,

    Dear all,

I have a solution: I open the file 'wrong', completely leached all the HTML and JavaScript, open the actual file with firefox, then copied the code from here and pasted in the now empty index.html file. Then, I stored this one and now it works and the old .bak? copy has disappeared!

Thanks to you, dear Hans-Gungter, and all who could probably thought about my problem with Dreamweaver.

and the best of Salzburg Lake District,

    Giraldus

  • I just installed Adobe Rader 9. There are files left. How can I get rid of them?

Hello. I installed Adobe Reader 9. The installation folder is on my desk, and there is an installer for Adobe 9.0 folder in the folder on the hard disk. There is also a folder Adobe 8.0, the uninstall program has not been deleted. It isn't that much in the Adobe folder 8.0, but I not went.

The uninstall program did not have the best job, then I wonder where maybe hidden files and how do I clear my hard drive from the old Reader 8.0 files, etc..

I am concerned about the registry entries, hidden files, etc. So where should I look?

Is there an uninstall program that I can download?

    Thank you.

Yes, uninstall Adobe Reader (not all Adobe software) using Add/Remove Programs, restart, and then remove all remaining files and folders.

If it does not, use the Windows Installer Cleanup*utility.  Yes, this utility was withdrawn by Microsoft from my post, but can still be found on many download sites (use Google to locate).

*) The Windows Installer Cleanup utility works on all programs that were installed with Windows Installer, not only Microsoft Office.

  • How can I get rid of the cache files?

Premiere Pro, cannot find the files in cache on Mac, not in the common, clean folder does not work, I know there are concerts of them on my drive.  How can I get rid of them?

I started a first project I had worked before using an external hard drive but I forgot to plug in the external drive.  In a few minutes, the first loaded 5 GB of cache on my macbook pro drive OSX 10.8.6 files.  I have tried the following to free space:

Trying to 'clean up' the file cache before the switch to the external drive - it only removed a small amount of 5 concerts created

Tried to find files in the folder Application Support/Adobe/common - no hidden files not found

Tried searching the Web for answers - no new info

Tried searching my drive for files - can not find them

Tried to restart the MacBook and the first with and without the external hard drive - no luck

    Now what?

Reason: Please do a shorter, more concise title next time. Thank you.

First of all, exactly what first version are you running? Not just body CC or CC2014 but the version number shown in the about box.

I don't understand if you tell first cannot find cache files or you are unable to find them.

I think that you are referring to the own button in the Media tab of the Preferences dialog box, which is also where you set the path to the cache files.

Are you sure you're looking in the correct library - not one that is easily accessible under Macintosh HD, but that than Apple, it of infinite wisdom, hide from users. To access it, open the menu go to, then press Option.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

Clear the cache and delete cookies only from Web sites that cause problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > "Use the custom settings for history" > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
