  I just upgraded to windows 10, very nice update and don't usually return to 8.1, but unfortunately not windows programs will play files, audio or video of any kind and when you use VLC Player or youtube videos, the files will play but no sound?

  I checked all the regular suggestions such as the properties of the device and it claims to work fine etc., sound is not mute, except pass by and update drivers I don't know where to go from here.

  I was going to do a reset, keep my files, remove applications and settings, etc., I was warned it would remove apps, but a lot of what seems to be crucial drivers/programs will have to be re-installed manually. Also after doing a reset, you lose the ability to go back to 8.1

  Since when they were abducted during a reset?

  If your PC/laptop can play music through WMP and his music just based on the web, he can't play, then open your browser (Internet Explorer, for example, then Tools > Internet Options > advanced > get off until a line that reads the Web page sounds (or similar) > it check if its unchecked OR if its checked, uncheck it, OK) , and then close on IE, then open IE again go to what you have just unchecked and he check again.

  If you PC/laptop cannot play ANY music (sounds, mp3, video, wav etc files) then reinstall the drivers for your audio device. Re-post with your PC/Laptop brand, the name, the model number for more information.

  2. what version of Windows Media Player do you use?

  I suspect that the file is corrupted.

  Method 1.
  Check if you can play the same video in a different media player.

  Method 2.
  You may need to check if the codecs work very well to play the file. Check if you have installed third party codecs. Uninstall them and re - install and then check.

  I had a problem to read these types of discs with my hard drive. It does not recognize that there is a disc at all. This ONLY happens with new discs I get, for example by trying to install a new video game or download a new album that I just got. If I want to play a previously installed game I put game disk in and it works perfectly fine. This only happens with new games that I have not yet installed. E.g. I want to play starcraft, previously installed. I put the cd in starcraft and the game appears as usual. But if I want to install starcraft II nothing happens when I put StarCraft II in the disk drive, even if I go to my computer and double click on your drive, it just opens the CD door and asks to put a disc in when we're already here.

  I tried MR. Fix and it recognizes that there is a problem but is unable to repair. I tried to uninstall the disk driver and not the fixed not restart, but who either.

  You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burn
  and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
  do it right.

  A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

  Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both

  the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

  as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
  the parameters.
