keyboard is typing numbers instead of letters when I play a video game on my PC

Original Ttile:keyboard is typing numbers instead of letters

I recently had problems and it only happens when I play a video game on my PC, I run the video game, I want to change my control panel EX: 'I want to change the market toward the front of the button up to W'. When I press W it turns into a number, I press again and turns into a different number, I don't know how this happened, but it happened as a day or two before, can someone please help me solve this problem?, oh and it's a step a portable office.

If you have recently installed the thing on security of comcast, try disabling it.
It tends to ruin the keys during the game.

  • sequentially, keyboard types numbers instead of letters when games are played

When I start a video game, the letters on the keyboard may not work properly.  They will be successively type 0-9 over and over again. For example, I type w.  It will tap on 0. If I hit o once again he hits 1. and so on.

I contacted the support for the keyboard, but they had a problem trying to help me with my problem.  I also watched online on the problem in question and observed several cases in the past two months where the keyboard is upward.

    A sinful dilemma

I registered just to answer this question.  Exactly the same thing was driving me crazy.  It only happens in a game, and then only when I'm on the map page Options or actually the game.  The game interface chat window was fine, and all other normal uses were very good.

My problem was the installation an entire antivirus ISP provided.  In the bundle was Norton and some other stuff I never had the opportunity to uncheck during installation.  One of the 'other' these programs was something called GuardedID.  Apparently this program was hiding all my keystrokes after my first initial accurate typing with numbers by counting 0 - through-9 and then back to 0.  Maddening!

I uninstalled GuardedID and everything returned to fully functional, as expected.  I don't say that it must be the exact program that is causing your issues.  But maybe you can get a similar password/identity protection program in your anit-virus package.

    Good luck!

    Hello Gerome

You have activated the NumLock feature on your system. From what I found on Acer and by turning off NumLock, you need to hold the function key 'Fn' correspondent and press the "F11". This should disable NumLock and the keys to normal. If this is not the case, look at your keyboard until you find a key with a symbol that has a number and a lock. Press and hold the function key and press the key.

  • With the help of old Windows 2000 laptop. Some of the keys by typing numbers instead of letters

Original title: Sub-cles in Windows 2000

I have reactivated a portable windows 2000 pro. I find that some of the keys produce a number rather than the letter, as 6 instead of o. That's if for a long time that I have used W 2000 I forgot how to reset the keyboard to letters only.

In fact, this is not a function of Windows (2000 or another). It is a function of material of your laptop that remaps several keys to duplicate a NUMPAD on a smaller keyboard. In general, the feature is enabled or disabled with a Fn + NumLck key combination or (more rarely) a button dedicated to the NumLck .

Not knowing the make/model of your real hardware makes it difficult to be more specific.

    Help!

    Hi newsgirl,.

Somewhere at the top of the laptop keyboard is a key that says Num Lock (or Num Lk or something like that).  It can be accessed directly, or you may need to press a key to access (or some other keys).  In any case, you must click this to turn off the number lock because it is what causes the problem.  This key is usually used on laptops to create a section of a regular keyboard that can act as the normal keyboard calculator keypad (for those who need that, like accountants or persons who need to enter strings of numbers).  Once you turn it off, you will be fine as the keyboard returns to normal.

    I hlpe that aid.

    Good luck!

    Hello

It is possible that this could be a hardware problem, try the following.

In the Menu start, open the all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator".  In at the prompt, type the following command and press ENTER.

sfc/scannow                (Note that there is a space between sfc and /)

Let the entire process, then the output type and press ENTER.

Go to Device Manager and uninstall the keyboard like you did before.

Then shut down the computer, disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

The information provided in the upper part of the thread is nothing else than a State of what is running on your computer.  It does not indicate that something is wrong.  To upgrade your Windows software, visit:

To update other drivers, etc., visit the website of your computer manufacturer.  Many companies (like HP and Dell) OEM will publish the latest drivers in the Support/Download section of their Web site.
Otherwise, visit webite of the manufacturer of the device or from the chipset you want to update the drivers for.

  • When I play a video, I can't see it. but I can hear the audio (I recently formatted my laptop)

I formatted my laptop last week and installed km player. When I played a video on it, I could hear only the audio. The video was black.

    Help, please!

I was wondering after reinstalling Windows,
did you visit the support site for your computer
manufacturer and check the video drivers updated?

The free VLC Media Player may be
worth a try... it will play anything.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    VLC Media Player
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_vlc/
    (works on XP/Vista/7)
(the name of the file to download is: vlc - 2.0.2 - win32.exe)

    Good luck...

  • No sound when you play a video/Audio

    Hello

I have a HP Pavilion g6 and the sound does not work.

I tried troubleshooting audio playback, and then it started working. Then I realized that the sound system started working.

When I play a video or audio on my browser (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer), it does not work, but when I play a video/audio downloaded on the pc, it's working. Why is this?

I've checked all my browser settings aswell and nothing is wrong.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Try a new installation of the plugin flash/ActiveX as follows.

First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

    Flash Player Uninstaller.

Once the download is complete, close all the browser windows, open your downloads folder and run the program uninstaller.  After this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You can deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before downloading.

When the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

    ***************************************************************************

If the above is not correct the problem, try the following.

First of all, download and run the uninstall program of Shockwave on the link below.

    http://fpdownload.Macromedia.com/Get/Shockwave/Uninstall/Win/sw_uninstaller.exe

After this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, download and install the latest version of Shockwave on the following link.

    http://get.Adobe.com/Shockwave/

Once again, after the installation, restart the laptop.

    Kind regards
