  First of all, I would recommend what I felt the better for OUR laptops. Mine is a DV6 6121tx with the config following-Core i7 2630QM at 2.00 GHz with TB up to 2.90 GHz

  Just a few errors that I don't want to make you-

I have the product key but when I goto the MS site to download it says that they produced key came from an OEM install then goto to the OEM to get the operating system. OK HP I need bone lol. I don't see where I can download. The disc is not completely dead, but freezes from time to time. A ran HP HW diagnostics and it failed. So I replaced the drive, but I need a win7 bootable for installing the OS and you haven't. How to do it? I just need the ios image I can burn the DVD.

  Have you checked the bottom of the laptop or the battery for the key box.  You should also have a "recovery Partition", launched once requires a key.

  How access/start the recovery process is for the factory listed below.

  Acer: Press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

  ASUS: Press or press the F9 key as soon as you see the Asus logo.

  Dell: Press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
