This just happened to new start-up of three days. Prior to this time everything worked very well. Also it some dialog boxes asking to click to launch an application platform that we know nothing about. We have looked for answers and went to the Control Panel, easy access and off Magnifier. But it is magnified. All icons and applications and the magnified programs.are. No new programs have been installed, no fonts won't changed, none of the DPI changed by us. . Some have suggested to go into the registry, but I'm not here. There are available restore points to restore. I don't know why there are no restore points. Even went in safe mode and couldn't find the restore point. Our solutions may be next = copy data, use the restore disk, and all reinstall. GOSH, there must be an easier than treatment... Or go to the computer repair shop. Suggestions? Please, I beg you!

Hello
1. what changes have been made to your computer before the problem?
Follow these steps and check if they help.
Step 1:
I would say you rebuild the icon cache and check if the problem persists.
a. press the keyboard Windows logo key combination + R to bring up the Run dialog box.
b. type cmd and press ENTER to open the command prompt window.
c. in the command prompt window, type the following commands pressing ENTER after each line:
Taskkill /f /im explorer.exe
attrib-h "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\IconCache.db.
del "%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\IconCache.db.
Explorer.exed. this restart Windows Explorer and rebuild the cache icons as needed.
Step 2:
Test the issue in a new user account.

programs are not not in the start icon
When I click on the start icon in the taskbar, all programs have dissappered, they are still in the add and remove the though.how section make their return to the start icon in this list. all programs are gone.how did it happen? What is fix? When I restore from an earlier date, it does not restore the list of programs.
It is likely that a piece of malware hidden links used by the start menu.
Try to bring up a command prompt window (Windows key + 'R' and then type "cmd") and then enter the following command:
attrib s h "c:\documents and settings\all Users\Menu Menu\Programs\ * ' / s
This should display all these files if they are hidden.

Hey there,
So today when I opened Firefox, this is what she looked like. Icons and images are distorted. Text is fine, the scrolling is fine. And this only happens in Firefox (i.e. other programs on my computer, including other browsers are fine).
No idea what it is and how to fix it?
Thank you.
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.
You will need to restart Firefox before this takes effect so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Click the menu button
then select the Options under Windows or Preferences on Mac or Linux.
- Select the Advanced Panel, then on the general tab.
- Uncheck the use hardware acceleration when available.
- Restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
This solve your problems? Please report to us!
If the problem is resolved, you should check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in these articles in the knowledge base:
Thank you.

I can't get rid of ccSvcHst.exe in the list of icons in notification area.
I can't get rid of ccSvcHst.exx in the list of icons in notification area. He indicates that he belongs to Norton Internet Security. My new computer came with Norton on it. Natch. First things to get out were three Norton programs. The free 60 day trial of Norton internet Security, Norton backup program and VIP access. I used the function uninstaller in the control panel of Windows 7 sp 1. When I noticed this ccSvcHst.exe in the list of the notification icons, I guessed that it was a case of undesirable residue left by Norton, so I used the removal tool mentioned on this site.
http://us.Norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docURL=20080710133834EN&LN=en_US
But ccSvcHst.exe is always in the list of icons in notification area. And I wonder how much other stuff hidden Norton is still on this new computer. I would appreciate any advice on how to get rid of it. There may be a third party removal tool that is safe and not provided by Norton that could be more complete.
Thank you

And also it takes for ever to get signed in... What is happening with this? Any help is greatly appreciated - many thanks - sincerely - Dave Knapp

Download the file to a sharing site, such as OneDrive and provide me with the link.

My HDD is getting smaller and my files are endangered or not working do not at all
Hello
My C: / drive is shrinking more small and smaller every day. Sumultaneous with that, my files are becoming extinct (especially photos and music, but also Office files) almost as soon an I can create them. Finally, I am the only owner and user of my computer and I am the sole Director. More, I get messages from different programs telling me I do not 'have access"to the program, or that I have to get permission from"Trusted Installer ".
I wiped my hard drive twice in two weeks and reinstalled the operating system (Windows 7 sp1) this is not enough, and when I reinstall my private backup files, they disappear! I lose more valuable things for me.
In addition, the D: / recovery drive will not let me touch and is completely filled. So I'm not "allowed" to do a file recovery or a system recovery or repair.

Hello
Recovery partition full.
Your recovery Partition was photographed on your hard drive during the production of your computer by the manufacturer for all of these reasons.
1. If you want to reinstall Windows from in the case of a failure of the system, based on individuals or the keys at startup.
F10 or Alt + F10 or F11 are a couple of different manufacturers use sequences.
You will need to ask your manufacturer for proper sequence.
2. to make the recovery disks on if your drive hard breaks down, so that you can then reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive.
Also ask them how to make records.
Your D: Recovery Drive is should not be used for backups, defragmented, etc..
There are backups on an external hard drive.
To resolve the problems that have arisen with the recovery D: Partition, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer to remove all that has been added to it.

Icons of programs on my new computer disappeared after easy transfer
My new computer windows 7 had a number of programs installed and icons of programs were on my desk. After using Easy Transfer to my old XP machine (via a USB hard drive), all but 2 or 3 program icons have disappeared from my new office. Is it possible to have these restored without reinstall all program applications (or accessing each program folder, find the file of the application and create a shortcut)?
Hi bspatz,
Windows easy transfer do not delete all the files or change the computer settings.
I suggest you to check if the missing desktop icons are listed in the users folder. Browse to the location: C:\Users\
\Desktop With regard to:

All the icons are hidden and won't run, windows media says it can't read the file. Programs are not open. Don't know what happened. Only Windows media opens and does not allow anything else to work. Working on image files grouping, then came to rest and return there are no icons available and won't run the programs.
Hello
You can try to start your computer in safe mode (press f8 when loading) and use the system restore to take the computer to a point where he may have been working well. However, it does not sound as strange behavior. If you do not get the computer works by using System Restore, make sure that you do a full virus and spyware/malware check.
Hope that helps.

Somehow when I downloaded and run office 2010 from the Microsoft Web site, all my icons on my desktop now have a 'W' on them and try to open with Word, instead of opening with their own program. I tried to change it, but without success. Also, when I go in the beginning and all my programs are listed, they have all the 'W' on them and try to open it with word also. Can not know what to do.
