my keyboard type

My keyboard won't type. Its very strange, im do not know what happened, but now used to my keyboard type, letters and made that the occasional strange thing as highlight words or tabs to open.

Try to connect an external USB keyboard and see if it works.

Sometimes, this could be a problem with the software so its always better check what could be the problem

  • installed a keyboard and wireless mouse and the mouse works fine, but the keyboard types the wrong keys! Any ideas? Thank you

installed a keyboard and wireless mouse and the mouse works fine, but the keyboard types the wrong keys! Any ideas? Thank you

Wired or wireless - is usually not serious unless the wireless can get more interference.  If the keyboard is close to the receiver which is connected to the computer and you get the strikes hurt - my suggestion is to try first the keyboard on another computer.

To do this, * not * require you to install specific drivers.  Simply unplug the combo of a computer and in the other and see if the keyboard works correctly.  Then, you can troubleshoot from there.

  • Disable the Dvorak keyboard type option left?

I use an HP with Vista Home Premium, SP2 computer.

I had a nephew to use my computer for a while and he installed the Dvorak keyboard type option left just to see what it was. Now, we cannot uninstall or disable it.  We went through the steps in linguistic environment several times and for each user on the computer (there are 2 more guest account, where the power is off). HOWEVER, the Dvorak option appears on the default login screen and I am required to change the layout of EVERY single time that I connect. It's maddening!  Is there something beyond delete language option and the keyboard that can solve this problem?  How can it be so simple to install this option, but it is almost impossible to get rid of?

I even bought another keyboard (USB) and let that settle at the start, but the default Dvorak layout is always making fun of me. Please help me find my sanity.  Thank you.

    Hello

    ·        Since when are you facing this problem?

You can try to connect an external keyboard and check if the same thing happens on this as well. You may need to change the configuration of the keyboard and check if that helps, follow the link given below to do the same.

  • keyboard types wrong letters in mozilla tried to reinstall, new keyboard works normally in opera, chrome, safari, does not

types of keyboard wrong letters I can press the e key and each time a different letter appear in Mozilla, types of keyboards, normally in Google Chrome, Safari, Opera and IE I have no language bar (the only keyboard language), no combination of keys does work, Ctrl + Shift, etc., Windows 8

    started only recently

    have reinstalled, uninstalled, rebooted, etc..

The combination of default keys to rotate the disposal is the Ctrl + Shift or Alt + Shift key combination that is used in Firefox to the menu items, so it is quite possible to accidentally changing the layout.

To avoid an unintended switch, assign a specific keystroke (Alt / Ctrl + Shift + number) to select keyboard layouts and remove the key combination to rotate (Alt + Shift or Ctrl + Shift) layouts

  • Keyboard types wrong characters and bizarre on Tecra A2

some keys are fine and I got the right letter. I already checked the regional settings and all is well; I updated my BIOS and I didn't work; I used the CD recovery and I didn't work.
    I went to Device Manager and uninstalled keyboard driver and nothing; I reformatted my HARD drive and nothing; I noticed that when I went into the BIOS and there tried to activate 'FN' and I could not turn on or off; It's off by default;

Any help? Someone had the same problem?

    Hello

sounds like a serious problem of material. You can try the following command to check if just the internal keyboard making trouble or your machine is defective: it just connect an external keyboard (ps2 or usb) and check if you got the same error.

But these days you have to bring your machine to a service partner chartered local for a checkup of material because I think that your keyboard is faulty and that the hardware components of your machine must be checked.

Point of here´s a link to find the nearest repairer:

    Hello

My first post here, I tried a search but could not find anything.

I use a wired Apple keyboard and the keyboard settings are on PC British. I tried not to change for just British but makes no difference.

It's the same question on start up too where you enter the password (I know what I got the @ in my pw)

Are there other settings I should change it please?

    Thank you

  • Satellite C50-A-1DV - keyboard, type multiple letters

    Hello

I was wandering if someone can help out me.
My laptop keeps typing additional letters.

So when I type we'll say the word dogg. "dog", I'm frustrated
Someone can tell me if I need to send this back to the store, or is their something I can try to solve the problem.

Partition is an example of line I'm not such a bad speller.
It is howw is just my laptop to type please help me because I am pulling my hair out.

    Thank you

    I am running windows 8.1

Connect the external USB keyboard and check if the same problem of double letters appear using this external USB keyboard.

If the symptoms of double letters will not appear with the external keyboard, the internal computer keyboard must be faulty.

This means that the internal keyboard needs to be replaced to solve the problem.
But if even the double letter appears using the external keyboard, then the keyboard controller (part of the motherboard) may be affected.

Not quite sure if this could be corrected by BIOS updated, but where your BIOS is not updated, try updating the BIOS.

Otherwise, I recommend you contact the authorized Toshiba maintainer for a control.

  • keyboard type

I have an eMachine with Windows XP Home 32-bit Edition.  Were backward between Windows 7 and 8.  His grandchildren were last on the computer and now keyboard will type not in what either (Notepad, search, run, nothing).  Have tried the three .dll term using copy/paste and still nothing.  Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, problem has been resolved.  Problem is I don't know how or what fixed it.  All this time I had a problem, the computer was indexing.  It took days to finish.

Today, I went to new keyboards.  When I plugged a different keyboard, it wouldn't work, and the mouse works more also.  I stopped and restarted the computer and it finds the keyboard and everything works now.

I am happy.  And please try your best to help me.

  • My keyboard types numers whenever I try to use the alphbet. I can use the on-screen keyboard.

I am running Windows XP on a DELL DESKTOP computer. I tried everything I can think of to solve my problem. I tried a new keyboard, virus research and still I can't type a note, letter or e-mail using My DELL keyboard.

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the keyboard?

I suggest you to follow these steps and check if that helps:

    Method 1:
Start the computer in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

    Method 2:
Try to perform the clean boot and check if it helps:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

NOTE: When you are finished troubleshooting, make sure that you reset the computer in start mode normal such as suggested in step 7 of the above article.

    It will be useful.

  • sequentially, keyboard types numbers instead of letters when games are played

When I start a video game, the letters on the keyboard may not work properly.  They will be successively type 0-9 over and over again. For example, I type w.  It will tap on 0. If I hit o once again he hits 1. and so on.

I contacted the support for the keyboard, but they had a problem trying to help me with my problem.  I also watched online on the problem in question and observed several cases in the past two months where the keyboard is upward.

    A sinful dilemma

I registered just to answer this question.  Exactly the same thing was driving me crazy.  It only happens in a game, and then only when I'm on the map page Options or actually the game.  The game interface chat window was fine, and all other normal uses were very good.

My problem was the installation an entire antivirus ISP provided.  In the bundle was Norton and some other stuff I never had the opportunity to uncheck during installation.  One of the 'other' these programs was something called GuardedID.  Apparently this program was hiding all my keystrokes after my first initial accurate typing with numbers by counting 0 - through-9 and then back to 0.  Maddening!

I uninstalled GuardedID and everything returned to fully functional, as expected.  I don't say that it must be the exact program that is causing your issues.  But maybe you can get a similar password/identity protection program in your anit-virus package.

    Good luck!

  • Keyboard, type the foreign letters

Yesterday my keyboard worked today a few letters type extra charaters when you press.

    example: y = ' h yp = u [8hn g = yp7gb o = 5o\0 n = [8hn

IM currently using keyboard on screen, but that used to help me log in the admin of my computer part. Please help I do not know if its my computer or my keyboard is causing this problem.

    Hi junerose79.

Sounds like a problem.  It was smart to think about using the characteristic Visual keyboard.  What kind of keyboard you use?  I've seen keyboards you can remap the keyboard, who actually runs the keys to type something different than what he would normally be.

You have another keyboard, you can use temporarily to see if it solves the problem?

There is a feature in Windows called sticky keys, but I'm not sure that could cause what you see.  But just to be safe, go to "change how your works for keyboard and make sure all the settings are correct."
