  Bought this new computer with Win 7 in July, 10.  Media Center has worked, (like my old pc) until this last week.  Yet the recordings of TV programs I get RoadRunner cable, but won't let me play same.  I get the msg: WMC has stopped working.  The choices are "to search the solution over the internet" and "close".  That I see, nothing happens when I select the first Pope and WMC turns off.  MSG, basically, has the following listed (?): CLR20r3, ehshell.exe, 6.1.7600.16385, 4a5bccdc, mscorlib, 2.0.0.0, 4bebd50b, f50, 7, N3CTRYE2KN3C34SGL4ZQYRBFTE4MI3NB, 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3, 1033 (hope, I just copied correctly - what it means).

  I was able to play a few shows previously recorded by restarting the pc, then selecting a show and play.  Three light like that, but now I can't screen "msg".

  The catalyst control center monitor and driver detective programs are non-Microsoft programs. So, you can even try communicating with the support of the manufacturer for assistance in case the problem is only with these programs in particular.

  I just received a response from AMD for a known issue with Catalyst Control Center and Windows 7.  You can go there.  It worked for me the first time after a lot of troubleshooting.

  How to solve the CCC is not loading/opening at initialization.

  Scenario: the user tries to open/load the CCC through different methods, but it does not load. The problem may occur without any changes to the system or a Catalyst driver update or reinstall. This is issue mainly affects Windows 7 machines.

  Cause: possible corruption of the Windows Global Assembly Cache (GAC). Usually, this requires the user to format and reinstall Windows.

  Resolution: this solution has been tested - reproduced and resolved.

  Remove all the ATI through programs and features in Control Panel using the Manager to install Catalyst (GPC). Restart the system in safe mode and follow these steps:

  -Remove all ATI C:\programs files files and the C:\programs files (x 86)

  -Go to the C:\Windows\assembly and sort by "public key token. Locate the following key token public "90ba9c70f846762e" which is

  -associated with ATI. Usually only 2 entries. Remove 2 entries. Note: entries should be deleted (right click and select uninstall) since regular safe mode

  -mode may cause a permissions error. 2 entries appear only in the systems concerned by this issue. This means that you want the 2 inputs on systems where the CCC charges, the entries do not exist.

  -Close and restart normally.

  -Reinstall the ATI Catalyst package.

• Media Center - Live TV suddenly stopped working for some channels, display of snow.

  I am running window 8.1 on a HP laptop.  I have the two 32-bit and 64-bit Windows Media Player installed, I can start 64-bit with no problem, but 32 bit work do not.  When I try to play music directly I get the error "Server execution failed", I tried all the option provide fron uninstall and reinstall as has been suggested, but nothing helped.  I need to have the 32-bit to run or have the 64-bit by default.   Thanks for the reply, but after working with it, I solved the problem.

  1. rename the program (x 86) folder (32-bit) / Windows Media Player for everything you want

  2 copy the Windows Media Player folder in the Program Files (64-bit) folder and paste it into the program file (x 86) folder.

  3. This puts an uncorrupted in the default path, Windows Media Player

  This worked very well for me.  It also leaves a version uncorrupted for future needs.

  Sometimes simple is better.
