My Photoshop CS6 works perfectly under Yosemite 10.10.5 on a mac.

Will it still work under El Capitan?

Hi jorism,

Photoshop Cs6 is not officially supported on MAC OS X Photoshop system requirements 10.11.Refer

For more information on Photoshop and 10.11 of the OS you can consult this document: Photoshop and El Capitan | Mac OS 10.11. It addresses Creative Cloud 2015, but perhaps also some information about your needs.

You could also refer to the thread of the next forum, which addresses issues encountered with Photoshop CS6 after update to OS 10.11: Photoshop CS6 LATE after installing OSX El Capitan

Kind regards

Assani

I suspect an incompatibility with the EC and the sine of dongle USB EL strengthened using third kexts. They must be signed, and so a softer update for the dongle is probably necessary.

  • Photoshop CS6 works does not properly on a MAC using Yosemite 10.10.4.

I've recently updated to Yosemite in MAC OS X 10.6.8. My photoshop CS6 does not work correctly. The quick selection tool work very irregularly. I have to constantly move forward and backward to the selection tool to get to tools to work at all. None of the tools or keyboard shortcuts still work correctly. I uninstalled the Design Standard Suite and reinstalled several times. I also upgraded to the latest upgrades of the applications of this suite of inside Photoshop. I am at a loss. I contacted Adobe and I was told to download a version as a result of Design Standard and install this. I did this and it helps did ' t. Any help would be appreciated. I'm in the middle of a design project and need my Photoshop to run correctly. Other programs Adobe, Acrobat X, CS6 Illustrator and Indesign CS6 seem to work correctly.

    Thanks for any help,

  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 not to recognize the new fonts in the font, Mac OSX 10.11.5 book

I use Photoshop CS6 on my work computer and it is not recognize everything I download a new font. I've tried troubleshooting on mine, doing a number of things, including erasing cache of my mac system fonts, upgrade from photoshop and my other apps from Adobe via Adobe Bridge, turning off font preview in photoshop, removing any invalid fonts/verification of all policies are valid in the font book and restart my computer / software. The last thing I found to try is manually insert fonts in ~/Library/Application_Support/Adobe/Fonts, but I can't seem to find this folder, the only ones I can find are ~/Library/Application_Support/Adobe/FontsRecommended and ~/Library/Application_Support/Adobe/FontsRequired.

There is a troubleshooting FAQ font, but looks like you have tried most of the points which it covers.

  • Photoshop CS6 work on HDD or SSD drives?

I bought a Windows 7 PC with 16 MB of RAM, 2 terabytes and a 250 GB SSD. I'm going to load Photoshop on the SSD and the operating system on the hard drive. Where the work must go?

It's a bit difficult to answer, as you not describe how you will use your system.  You'll almost exclusively Photoshop work with it or you are looking for good performance all around?

What brand and model SSD - what are you, specifically?  In general, if it is a model modern SSD with wear leveling devices in its internal controller and with other data that you have mentioned, you probably want to use the SSD for scratch, as SSD flow is very high (several hundred megabytes per second).  With levels of flow SSD, when Photoshop starts to use his workspace strongly declining performance is much less severe than with a HARD drive.  There is as far as many problems with an SSD on dedicating the reader to the task, even if there are other activities on disk latency close to zero means that SSD supports multitasking much better.

However, if you feel you will never exceed 250GB for the OS and applications (i.e., you will keep a relatively simple system), by using the SSD for OS and similar applications may be a better approach.  In this case it will be not enough space also for Photoshop scratch.

Just keep in mind when you plan your distribution "here, this will who goes" that Windows and its applications are really more comfortable with EVERYTHING works on the C: drive.  This is not to say that it is a necessity, just that things tend to work more smoothly in this configuration.  Given that, you can actually consider getting a second SSD and RAID 0 Bay to C: drive with plenty of available space.  This is the approach that I took (in my case with four SSDS).

  • best operating system for Photoshop cs6

What is the best operating system for Photoshop cs6? Choose 32-bit or 64-bit? Windows 8 is compatible?

Photoshop works well on most systems and has problems on some systems - either Mac or PC.  It's not really work "better" on either.  This (great) selection of the platform must be based on other factors.

Note that Photoshop CS6 works in 64-bit Mac OSX.

If you work on large images, Photoshop can really use the address space of extra RAM that can provide a 64 bit OS.  If you are wanting to go with Windows and some hope scalability really probably want to consider variants of Windows x 64.

Windows 7 x 64 is mature and very functional.  Windows 8, not really after being released to the public yet, is fairly new to consider immediately (although I tested it carefully).  Display drivers may not be ready, plus a few things that you know and love has actually been removed (for example, the Start button).

Personally I suggest to go with Windows 7 x 64 for now - that's what I'm staying with - at least until the dust settles a little after the release of Windows 8.

Regarding the compatibility of the applications you have specific concerns?  Windows 7 x 64 works virtually any 32-bit application very well indeed.  It will not run 16-bit applications (for example, from 15 + years), but if you still absolutely need one of these there is the possibility of running virtual XP in Windows 7.
