  This is a bug in VCD 5.5.0 and 5.5.1. It will be fixed in 5.5.2. If you can't wait for the fix so there is a /hotpatch. If you file a support request then GSS can give you the /hotpatch

• Text entry box does not show all the text

  I'm creating a simple exercise where I want the user to copy text from the course, paste into word and report back what the number of words.  I thought that perhaps the text entry box would be the best way to go, since if you click the text (the default), you can copy it.  However after I place the paragraph of the text in the box and resize in the editor, until all of the text shows, it does not show all the text during playback is previewd or published.  It only shows the last words of the last row in the upper part of the box.

  Is there something that I am missing?  Or, is there a more easy/better way to do what I need?

  If it Captivate 4, there may be no need of a widget to do this. I'm guessing that you haven't tried allowing the scroll bar for the text of the entry (TEB) box?

  CCleaner is very useful to get rid of temporary files, you can get it here: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner you can use it to clean your temporary files, but DO NOT use registry cleaning works, registry cleaning is mainly a useless effort that can cause more harm than good.

I tried to reset the file .dll, re-installed McAfee, closed, deleted and re-installed the gadget.  I'm running to do a total reinstall of Vista (not), but I don't really want to do this for a simple gadget.   This behavior is observed if the XML registration is missing in the system. To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  • Close the Windows Sidebar . To do this, right-click on the Sidebar icon in the Notification area, and then clickoutput (GK: in the case of Windows 7, press Windows key + R > typetaskmgr and press enter > Proccesses tab > selectsidebar.exe > click on the end process button)
  • Open an elevated command prompt window. To do this, clickStart , click principally made programs , Accessories , right-clickguest , and then click run as administrator .
  • In the command prompt window, type the following command and press ENTER:

  regsvr32 msxml3.dll

  Similarly, run these commands:

  regsvr32 scrrun.dll

  regsvr32 jscript.dll

  If the registration was successful, you will see the message DllRegisterServer in succeeded to for each executed command. OpenWindows Sidebar (sidebar.exe ) and check if the problem is resolved.  You will need to disconnect and reconnect your user account to check if the issue has been addressed.

  Rule #1: all display updates should occur on the thread event or synchronized on the lock of the event.

  Rule #2: the thread of events (or now the lock of the event) should never be blocked by lengthy operations.

  The scenario you sketched out is usually handled like this: menu item run() method don't whatever immediate user interface updates are necessary and starts a worker thread. It does not wait until the thread ends before returning. (If so, updates the user interface include pushing a "Please wait" or progress pop up). The worker, at the same time, begins to do its stuff. When it's time to update the user interface (either because the task is completed or to view progress) the worker thread usually called invokeLater (Runnable) (a method in the Application class) where the executable run() method updates the user interface. If the worker thread must receive user input in his work, he can use invokeAndWait (Runnable), where the executable not all interactions of the user and stores the user entry somewhere so that the worker thread can grab after invokeAndWait() returns.

  Although the synchronization on event lock works perfectly well, it is more common for some reason any to invoke a Runnable, perhaps because the latter clearly encapsulates in a separate object the work to be done on the event thread.

  The above policy is the basis of the excellent Peter Strange example I linked to before.

• Video does not show all by capturing in PrCS4

  I capture my video in PrCS4 very well last night, and then when I went from bands, my video showed no more in the capture window.  He plays on my camcorder and capture window I can press play/stop/etc and the meter on the left is counting time very well.  I also took the tape to work this morning where I have a bridge to SonyDVCam, but that gives me another question where Pr recognizes it, but when I hit play on the bridge looks like it's playing, but nothing appears on the screen capture and the counter does not move even.  My camcorder is a Canon HV30, using DV widescreen Sony MiniDV, turned strips.  I tried to turn off the unit and turning back, opening and closing of the capture window (a cause that seems to work earlier in the evening), then by restarting the first and the computer as well.  Nothing seems to work.  Any suggestions?

  Not adjust your camera DV, HDV. Preview will show. Or try Scenalyzer, much better for the DV. If you have any HDV it not there no preview or scenedetection for the capture, as it is explained in the manual and the help file. Try HDVSplit for HDV material, still much better than Adobe. Overview and scendetection are available with this free application.

• Smartphone BlackBerry 8700 c Device Manager and does not AT ALL

As my computer will make a dadunk noise when I connect my Blackberry via USB cable, but it doesn't register that my blackberry is connected.   Jsanders thanks for your help, but I managed to understand! I got the Desktop Manager 4.1 version so I downloaded and installed to 4.7. That fixed my connection problem. And while I was home I decided to take the update of the software 4.5 versio and which is installed on the phone right now. I backed up all of my information and everything.

  I took risks and went with my instinct. And I fooled with driver vista settings. So far, everything is smooth.

  I used to mod motorola phones so I had sort of an idea of what to do initially. But the Blackberry intimidates me so. Haha!
