MyFileName.mdf is not a primary database file.

When accessing an .mdf file, I get this: MyFileName.mdf is not a primary database file. This means that the file is corrupted?

Please help fix this file. I learned a few manual things to fix the SQL database, but I'm not aware of it.

Please share it.
Thank you.

  • move the primary database files to another location

    Hi all

    I move the files of my primary database to another location on the same server, but on a different drive (from f: to G :) with rename comand but file name will be the same, after you have moved the files what step I need to perfom on standby DB will have on my database pending?)

    This doc is everything after you rename the primary file, I'm not rename all the files I need to just move file from one place to another without changing the file name.

    I hope you know how to move files from one place to the other on the primary database. It's not just copying the files from one disk to another and then to go to the top of your database.

    You rename your data files or copy it to another location, how the controlfile to know you have copied/renamed to a different location?

    I guess you 1 to ask the question of how to move files to a different location in primary education and then move on standby.

    Steps to follow:
    1 Hope you brought your primary database.
    2 copy the datafiels to one disk to another.
    3. attach the primary database.
    4 rename all data files that you moved to this control file would know the changes.
    SQL > alter rename file 'G:\oracle\user01.dbf' to 'F:\oracle\user01.dbf ';
    5. subsequently open the database.
    Refer this to move data files from one place to another http://www.orafaq.com/wiki/Move_datafile_to_different_location, http://www.adp-gmbh.ch/ora/admin/move_datafiles.html

    on autonomy in standby:
    1 cancel the MRP
    2. change the db_file_name_convert to point to «F:\»... »
    3. Mount the backup database
    4. start the MRP

    Hope that these steps are clear.

  • printer does not print my database files

    All my microsoft works does not print database files, all other files print ok.  When I go to print it tells me to

    go to the control panel and make the default printer, which is.  Note that I had my computer in the shop a few

    Months maybe they screwed up this because I used to print my recipes and now I can't.

    If it were me, I would like to download the patch on http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22751 if it's for the wrong version of Works (8.5 instead of 8), do not install.

    But because I'm not an expert on the works and because you describe exactly the problem that the fix is intended to fix (see this article--> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933828) and because the patch is for Works 8.5 (and you said you have 8), I suggest that you ask a question here, where there is risk to be experts work (or at least people who know more about the work I have)--> http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/office/forum/officeversion_other-office_other?tab=all&tm=1373467526283

    Hi all

    I want to palyback a main script containing three "scripts", two of them are the same script. Separately, they all can read successfully.
    For example, in the script 'Hand', there are 'A' 'B' 'A' script ssuccessively. and 'A' 'B' have their own databases respectively under "a data bank / ' and ' B/database /. Each database has two records in the .csv file.
    Now I'm reading 'Hand', the script of the child 'A' can run successfully then child script "B" run correctly too, but the second, run the script "A" says more no record and the main script to stop there.

    So, how can I do the 'Hand' performance full script without being stopped by the second script used 'A'?
    Thanks a lot for your help ^ _ ^!

  • Set the primary as file not required

    Hello

    A form of check-in, there are two fields to transfer a file:

    With main file is mandatory.
    Another file with is not mandatory.

    Based on the fact that these fields are not in the list of metadata for configuration manager, is it possible to define the scope of primary file as non-mandatory?

    This procedure is necessary because sometimes I have to check in the metadata of physical files (paper document) and later, update the content with the digital file (digital text).

    Thank you in advance.

  • A virus has attacked my computer and erased my MSN database files and when I try to reinstall, my MSN Installer does not work. I was unable to fix it.

    A virus has wiped out my MSN database files and I am unable to remove MSN and work again. I'll have to go through Internet Explorer instead of my MSN account. I want my MSN e-mail account to be relocated instead of having to use Hotmail (which I hate). I get the MSN on the Internet Explorer home page, but it's the only thing I get. I tried to reinstall MSN, but the installer is too corrupted and I don't know how to fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

    Please suggest to solve this problem.

    Thank you.

    Problem is fixed - value StaticConnectIdentifier checked to a database of primary and standby in dgmgrl ==> primary port and standby was wrong wrt to the listening port value.

    Step 1 > error ORA-16664 and ora-12514

    ==> check StaticConnectIdentifier value for a primary database and a standby in dgmgrl ==> primary port and standby had value default IE 1521

    Primary:

    SEE THE VERBOSE "PRIM" DATABASE

    StaticConnectIdentifier = ' (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=rac1.localdomain) (PORT = 1521)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = PRIM_DGMGRL) (INSTANCE_NAME = PRIM)(SERVER=DEDICATED)))'

    Standby time:

    Step 2 > listening port for the primary and standby is 1524 and 1525, so change these manually.

    Primary:

    SQL > show parameter local_listener

    VALUE OF TYPE NAME

    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------

    LOCAL_LISTENER chain

    SQL > alter system set local_listener ='(ADRESSE = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = rac1.localdomain) (PORT = 1524))

    Standby time:

    ALTER system set local_listener = '(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = rac2.localdomain) (PORT = 1525))';

    #edit database 'PRIM' set the property StaticConnectIdentifier = ' (DESCRIPTION = (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST=rac1.localdomain) (PORT = 1524)) (CONNECT_DATA = (SERVICE_NAME = PRIM_DGMGRL) (INSTANCE_NAME = PRIM)(SERVER=DEDICATED)))'

  • Migration of data from the old platform to the new primary database, need advice.

    I have physical standby facility and everything works now.

    Next weekend, we will do the actual migration of the old platform to the new environment.

    I have several issues of concern.

    Migration will go to the primary database. I'll have to remove patterns and inside expdp dmp.

    While I do all those, what data base waiting? should I disable it again apply?

    What other concerns and precautions I need to take before I have to remove all data from primary school and do a migration?

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello;

    My main concern would be the FRA (assuming you use it).

    By doing all that generates a ton of archives, you have to worry about the space on both sides.

    I would consider increasing my FRA on both sides.

    I would not disable the recovery, but I look very close and be willing to adjust my space as needed.

    As long as you don't miss space you should be fine. I had once a backup log files more than 250, and it took about 15 minutes to catch up.

    Have a little prepared scripts in advance if you can increase the space or delete archive applied and it should be fine.

    I also opened at least two terminals on the primary and Standby. Everyone look at space and the other to execute all what you need to adjust the space.

    The rest is common sense, first do the smaller drawing if you have an idea what to expect. Decaying etc. as much as possible.

    Best regards

    I have a shell script called 'quickcheck.sh' (use a separate but .env file it will send information vital back)

    With a little work, you can do this in something that makes it easy to keep an eye on things.

    #!/bin/bash

    #

    if [ "$1" ]
    then DBNAME=$1

    exit 1

    #
    # Set the Environmental variable for the instance

    . /u01/app/oracle/dba_tool/env/${DBNAME}.env

    What can I do to make it give up these reference?
    Any other solution instead of modify the controlfile and stop/start the database?

    Thank you!!!

    Hello;

    Think that Oracle, the files are there, but I still have a bug on metalink where the controlfile had them again, but they were not on the file system. Can you confirm that they exist?

    Meanwhile, I'm checking my notes for the Oracle number of doc.

    Bug 6128242: TRY TO drop the STANDBY LOG FAILED WITH ORA-19528

    So if you're Oracle 10, this could be the problem.

    workaround is to re-create the controlfile without the incorrect log file. (Ugh!)

    ORA-01156 when adding or deleting Redo Logs [ID 452152.1]

  • Change the database file [DFL]

    Hello

    I'm looking for a way that may alter the *.ldf database file, some customers do not put the Signal_endcoding_types in the FLA file. I need a way to save the 'coding' in the file with labview UI. I found a few old FLA file API, but I tried, it seems to me that they only works on older versions. My fla file version is LIN_protocol_version = "2.0"; LIN_language_version = "2.1"; could someone tell me if there is a way that can achieve my goal.

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards

    Melo

    You want to edit the FLA file?  Because if so there is nothing that neither currently offers that will work for you.  If you want to use the FDL in XNet and you want to change the settings imported from the FLA so you can use the XNet API to achieve this.  When you use XNet you import the FLA (or other database files) and then you can modify the database, but is not edit the FLA.  This changes the database using the XNet, which began with the importation of the DFL.

    Recently, there has been updates of XNet which allow you to export a database, but I think they don't support that export to a database BOX.  So with CAN you can import a DBC XNet, change it using the database, editing tools, and then export it to a DBC should have the changes you made.
