  We had some recent problems with the new Adobe Reader XI v11.0.06.

  Cannot open some (currently two) files with the new version - although they can be opened with previous versions (9.4.3 and 10.1.0).

  Following error message is displayed:

  "Adobe Reader could not open 'asdf.pdf' because it is not a type of supported file or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an attachment to e-mail and has not been correctly decoded)." -(I hope that's it, I use the German version)

  Thank you for sharing the file. We asked a lot of people to share their files problem, but nobody seems to have succeeded before.

  This tells us two things.

  1. the file has % PDF very near the beginning, but not at THE beginning.

  2. it was made by a software called Sub Systems, Inc., who has done some questionable things (with for example a vacuum creation date is false).

  Adobe used to try to open files which had % PDF at the beginning, but now they have not. Apparently, it's a security thing. Here are some details and a workaround:

  I published an ERP application with vWorkspace .we 8.0 are able to successfully connect to ERP via the web url but the problem is that once we export any file in EXCEL (Option of ERP) then it does not open using the end-user Office great program.

  The really easy way is when you export the Excel document, export it to a fileshare that is accessible from the local computer.

  You can then simply open this file from file sharing and associations of local file will open it in the local excel for you.

  When you try to open any type of file in the list of local files (.pdf, .doc, .docx, .xls, .mdb etc), I get a "cannot find a valid editor for this file extension '. I can access the application and open it that way, but he doesn't remember this info and I do whenever I want to open a local file.

  I have a client who has problems with the RoboHelp 2015 project file. It seems that something has been corrupted.  I received the project files and the same thing happened on my laptop. Are there files I can delete which would help resolve this situation? Something like this happened to me a long time ago and I thought that I was able to remove one of the files and RoboHelp rebuilt the file when I reopened it. For the life of me I don't remember what it was. Here are the steps that I can reproduce again and again:

  1. launch RoboHelp

  2. click on file > open project

  3. navigate to the location of the project file
  4. Select HTML RoboHelp project file

  5 RoboHelp begins to open the file. The cursor will move in one loading, appear as it tries to load the files. But does nothing. Client left running for hours but nothing changes.

  The simplest method is to perform a factory restore, consult the manufacturer's web page for detailed instructions. You won't need a CD and you will not need to log in. Also note that the "Block" option in the folder permissions should be used with extreme care. In most cases, it is not necessary.

  I moved my profile to a HD with more space (and one that has been shared on my network) because I had too little space on my boot drive. Now, when Thunderbird opens, I get a screen with a tab saying Thunderbird Mail - local folders, but the folders pane is empty.   I try to use System. restore and it says drive C contains errors, you should check the drive for errors before you can restore it. When I run an error check it say this type of file system is NTFS: cannot open the volume for direct access. Thanks for any help.

  My recommendation based on your response is to do the following:

  1. Click Start and type 'CMD' in the search bar.
  2. Right-click on the cmd finds it and choose "Run as Administrator"
  3. Type ' CHKDSK/f' and press on it, if it says restart.

  This should allow the system to run CHKDSK in the window that is already open.

  These are CS5.5 files and can not be opened directly in CS5. They must be exported from CS5.5 to the .idml, and these files should open in CS5.

  I just 'upgraded' Version 1.5.0.53 v2.1 and I can longer open my SQL files correctly. They open in v2.1 as of illegible characters. Any ideas? I had to go back to the 1.5.0.53 Version so that I can continue to work. Any comment is appreciated. Thank you.

  You can check your encoding files, there is an option to set the encoding in SQLDev and if new files is saved properly when you cut and paste probably has an associated encoding problem.

  It is in tools-> Preferences-> environment if I remember correctly the English names for the menus.

  Hello, when I click on a link from any email and also when I double click on any file html on my desktop or anywhere else in my computer, absolutely nothing happens. It started when I upgraded to ff50. There was a similar question here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1147139 but this user received an error message and I don't get even those!

  I also watched my troubleshooting page where it says Multiprocess Windows 0/2 (disabled by modules) so I don't know if it of relevant or not. This makes it very difficult for me to get any work done!

  Weird! When I started FF this morning, I received the message "FF is responsible for your updates" - and now everything is back to normal! How weird! However, I am extremely relieved and it will mark this resolved.

  I just started to build an AIR application and am facing a very basic problem. I need a file-> open menu that displays an open file dialog box and returns the location (including the folder) of a file to edit.
  -J' tried the FileReference.Browse (), but this does not seem to provide the full path to the file
  -J' fileReferenceList.browse () tried but does not fire the event SELECT on my Mac under (seems to be a bug reported last October: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-13220)
  
  Now, how can I achieve this in AIR? I guess that opening local file is a pretty standard operation for desktop application, any suggestion/tip?

  You don't want to use FileReference in the AIR for what you do. See the documentation for the mx.controls.FileSystemTree. There are indeed a handful of specific AIR controls to access the file system. It is not a dialog box "Open" in itself; You can build your own out of the data controls. I will say that controls will have the flavor of the operating system (on a Mac, the controls behave similarly to the way a Mac accessses and browse for files).
