  It was surprising, but I got the computer change the name of "Network 2" to "DGVB1," my SSID, which, for some reason, let it be detected and therefore be welcomed into the group.   Sorry about that, but I got my answer from another forum, a Linksys Forum - and I will talk about a few things in case other people have this problem/question.

  To remove the network name that appears on the Network Center and sharing, click on the link to customize to the right of the network type - and on the next screen, click on merge or delete network locations, you will / should be able to remove (don't know what fusion done or means) the network with the wrong name, EXCEPT that you can't remove it If it is being used (which is / was the problem I had).  When I unplugged the cable between the computer and the router, I was able to remove the network location (the one with the old name of network), I tried to get rid of.

  Now for the confession.  All this has nothing to do with the name of the network - and most of the things in my original post is just smoke also.  I was going down the wrong path.  It turns out that with computers connected to a router, there is only one network involved and you can call it anything you like and it will work.  There is no selection of a network involved as in the case of a wireless network.
