  Unfortunately, I couldn't find any other compatible battery so I highly recommend you to use the original battery.

  What you can possibly check is compatible batteries for C650D:
  PA3787U-1BRS
  PA3817U-1BRS
  PA3818U-1BRS
  PA3820U-1BRS

  Google around a bit and see if you can use them with your C650. At least, you can contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They can help you with this.

  To be honest I m unaware of models of laptops available in Australia but I assume it must be the same. I found the info which batteries are compatible with the European Satellite C650 and I think you can use the same with your machine. Here is the list:

  Check the specifications of each model and choose one that suits.

  I m not the United Kingdom and can not you with the links to order online but Googling around you assistance should be able to find the farm of origin for reasonable prices.

  What you can also do is to contact the nearest Toshiba authorized service provider and ask how much you must pay if they order a new one for you.

  What you can also try is to check eBay. Battery for my old A300, I found there. A friend of mine uses non-Toshiba battery. It costs a half price and it's not so bad. How long will he be working properly is another question.

A couple of merchants said that it is no longer available and has been replaced by PA3285U-1BRS, the amperage is a little higher at 4400 MAH, but declared voltage is now 11.1 VOLTS. Is this normal, or are they trying to just me to pawn off the coast with something that is really not compatible with the specifications of the original part. I can't find the part for the moment available on the Toshiba site, seems to have been the only way to get a true replacement who would be sure to adapt.   I found the info that for your laptop model there are two types of battery only:
  PA3356U-3BAS
  PA3356U-3BRS

  So if you use Google and put these numbers, you should be able to find an online store where you can buy these compatible batteries.
  By the way: link you posted is OK and I don't see the reason why you shouldn't order of it. It is listed as compatible.

  To extend the life, you need battery with more cells and ability, but it is unfortunately not available for your laptop model.

  Theoretically yes, but what you can do is check the battery on the battery part number and use Google to find an online store where you can order. I recommend buying the original Toshiba Toshiba logo on it battery.

  On the side of bottom of pile, you can find a label with all the details; Part number, etc.
  Search on the internet using the part number for a compatible battery and I m you will find online offers

  If not, get in touch with a local ASP (certified partner) and ask a compatible battery.

  They also said that am 4200mAh battery, as nothing is written on this subject, it is impossible to verify.

  The fact is, I found a battery to 40EUR on internet, compatible with my laptop according to the site, but given to 4400mAh, not 4200mAh.

  Then, I recalled the store who sold me the laptop (DARTY), nothing found on the Toshiba 400-page notice, but, the website of "LA FNAC" announced for my laptop a 4400mAh, not 4200mAh.

  Question: anyone of you bought a 2nd battery for this L670-1KZ which is not a Toshiba original one?
