Need Activation Code

I bought a Dell Inspiron N7010 about 4 years ago.

I have the Service number and Dell express service code and receipt of Staples.  Dell has information about my purchase in their system.

What I don't have is the activation code for the label under the laptop is worn.  The computer came with any software discs.  I created a repair disc, which no longer works.

I had software problems, so I formatted my HDD and reinstalled Windows 7 from Digital River, whose link I got on the microsoft Web site.  Knowing that my product activation code was unreadable, I copied the ID of the product to the system page in Control Panel.  My computer works perfectly.  Unfortunately, the product ID, I got from the screen of the system in the Control Panel, is not the number microsoft is looking for activation.

Is there something I can do?  Staples and microsoft said that they cannot do anything.  Supported Dell wants $120 to reinstall Windows 7, which is more expensive than buying a new Windows 7 operating system.  I also feel Dell could give me a break because it was their label that worn.

Purchase of a Dell recovery disk will solve my problem?  Any other ideas?

Thank you for responding.  Unfortunately, the new operating system is already installed.  Unless I misunderstood the instructions it is too late to create a backup of the ABR.

The files are the same for all Dell computers that are running the same version of Windows 7 for example each Dell which came with Windows 7 Home Premium has the same SLP key. I've supported it place for all versions of Dell Windows Vista and 7 if theres no need to back up first. Follow just the steps 1 and 2 here:
