Need advice to make this card entirely black and white (not gray)

cropped map 2png.png

In the picture above, I am trying to do two things, I can't understand:

1. make all blue rivers dark black (the ultimate goal is to remove them).

2. the large bodies of water, used to indicate a cyan color while the color tool replace changed most of the water to white, along the shores of these continents, so it is always anti-aliasing of various shades of blue/cyan remaining. I wish that these pieces of white color.

I already tried to use the color replacement tool and the color selection tool that I've used before, but I can't make it work with these parts. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi André,.

There are several ways to do it depending on what you want. A simple solution is to open the stock photo in Photoshop. Click on the adjustment layer icon, then select a threshold adjustment layer.

Who going to each pixel is black or white.

Then take the cursor and move it to the right to remove white lines more thin than in the rivers. See this screen to enter.

This is just a quick way - it can remove much too much the side edges line depending on what you want.

    I have a jpeg image that I want to apply a black and white adjustment layer and then ideally fade by about 50 percent to use as a background image.  However, when I try to apply the black and white adjustment layer option is grayed out.  Does anyone know why this is, and also how I can work around this problem?  It's not an image under copyright or anything like that.  This is a picture of our building that a former employee took years ago.

  • New Apple MacBook Pro. Contrast of black and white not as sharp as the previous MacBook Pro. How please

    Not as strong black and white contrast on my new Macbook Pro retina adjustment last version of El Capitan. The black color is certainly lower than in my previous MacBook Pro. The contrasts are not as sharp and the screen has a grayish tint which I'm having a difficult time of adjustment. It is not my eyes. Any tips? Thank you. WillyG

    Is there a way to make the printer print black and white only?

    Hi oldstrings,

    You can change the characters to print grayscale (using a black ink only).

    I extracted the advice of setting of printer for windows and mac.

    Alternatively, you can check out the link to reference guide user below.

  • Why my PRO - 100 black-and-white prints have a color tint?

    I print out on the printer PIXMA Pro-100 and sometimes, for no apparent reason (?), my black and white prints have a color tint (generally a "reddish brown"), then when printing to new... same settings print, same... the same impression will be fine, neutral with no tint at all.

    No idea why?

    Also (perhaps related?) I do not understand why Photo-Cyan and Magenta cartridges are exhausted when I'm NOT print color, but only black and white.  Am I missing something?  When you set up for printing, I always make sure that the 'Black and white photography' feature is selected in settings dialog "Quick Installation".  This ensures not only the black and gray inks are used as long as I'm not "toning"?  In other words... ONLY black and gray inks are used, if not the impression that is supposed to be a black and white printing neutral? Yet once... I missed something?

    FOR INFO:

    I print on Canon Pro radiance papers and more glossy.

    Under 'Options - color management', I selected:

    (color management) Photoshop Elements handles colors

    (image area) Adobe RGB (1998)

    (the printer profile) Canon PRO-100 1/2 Luster Photo Paper Pro

    (rendering mode) Perceptual

    The most important thing is the paper you choose to print on.  Find this first release. Any Epson printer which uses UltraChrome K3 inks will do a better job with B & W as a Pro-(anything).  But Epson suffers from obstruction more far do, Canon Pro-100 problems.

    If you print a lot is not too big of a problem, but if you print once a week or once a month to forget it.  Go with Canon that clogged very rarely, if ever.

    Try to find the right paper.  It will make everything better.  Call the Red River or Canson and ask them to recommend a book.  Red River will work with you and they know the Pro - 100 inside and outside.

  • OfficeJet 6700 scan enlarges doc in jpg format. Scan PDF is in black and white

    I have a new HP Officejet 6700. My operating system is Mac OS X v8.5.8.

    I went to scan a document as a jpg file and it scanned and was recorded in my computer (wireless).

    The problem is that all the documents have been enlarged during the process, therefore, only about 1/3 of the document is scanned. How can I reduce the scan so that the entire document (8 "x 10") is visible in the scanned jpg?

    Also note that this enlargement is not the case when recording in pdf format, but the analysis is the only black and white, not the color of my document was. The scan jpg, although enlarged, was at least in color. Help! THX.

  • Photo gallery-photo black and white prints

    Photo gallery problem

    recently with Gallery of photos to print a photo it will print in black and white, not color?, but using the words & paint it will print in color using the same printer. Why?

    Hi YipJack if,

    -What happens when you preview the photo before printing the Photo Gallery?

    See the preview before printing:

    To see what the print will look like before you print it, open the picture in Windows Photo Gallery that offers a preview before printing. Print preview is typically located on the file menu. You can choose the print in preview mode options and then print directly from the preview.

    This happens usually if the print options or preferences are changed for your printer. To select print options, you must open the image you want to print. Most print options are located in the print dialog box, which you can access on the file menu in the program that you are using. The options that are available to you depend on the program and the printer you use.

    To access some options, you may need to click on the link 'Options' or 'Advanced Options' button or tab in the print dialog box. To learn more about the print options for a program, see the information for the program.

    Printing options are determined by your printer capabilities are called printing preferences and may include printing separation pages, color or image quality options and Staples. Like program options, printing preferences are displayed in the print dialog box. Look for the buttons labeled "Préférences" or "Properties". You can choose preferences each time you print a picture or preferences to default configuration to use for all the photos you send to a printer.

    Hi macys.

    Welcome to the HP forums!

    Implemented a Photosmart 6520 for black ink only from your Windows 7 computer? That I can help with

    You will want to start devices and printers (via your control panel) with access to your folder and right-click on your Photosmart 6520 icon and select Printing Preferences. The window that opens will be similar to the display on the left of the screenshot below. On this screen you click the Advanced button, and then you will see a screen similar to the one on the right of the screenshot. There, you go the black ink only setting and press OK. Press and then apply on the previous screen before pressing OK again. The driver will now be on use black ink only.

    Two questions please.

    (1) this printer print black and white if the color cartridge is empty or not placed on printer at all.

    (2) I have been using HP 61 XL.  Is HP 61 the same quality as HP XL 61

    Thank you.

    Hey @Kathiebronx,

    I see that you have questions about the desire 5530 e - all - in - one printer. I can answer those for you.

    (1) the 5530 envy has a system of two cartridges so it will print with a black cartridge in the printer.

    (2) 61 and 61XL cartridges are both HP cartridges. The printer must be able to print with the same quality that you were using a regular cartridge or a cartridge XL.

    I hope this helps to answer your questions and I hope you have a great week!

  • How to make a character in my color of black and white film? I need him to be able to walk in the scenes and be always green.

    I just finished a movie black and white, I did between a man and a dinosaur of edition. My problem is that I want to stay black and white besides than the dinosaur that I wanted to give a green tint to the entire film. The problem is that is not as simple as a work of photoshop coloring him because it's a moving character I want to stay green regardless of composition or how it moves through it. I tried to find a way to do two days but had no chance of having the character move and remain its color. I am a complete novice and lose hope so I hope someone out there understands what I'm asking. Help, please!

    Your rotoscoped character would be on its own layer. Then you'd just color grade this layer.

  • Anyone know how to make a splash of color to a black and white photo?

    Good so I scoured internet and I still have not found an answer to this question. All I'm trying to do is make one part of the image of color and the rest always black and white. The original photo I have is black and white and I would like to make this very clear: I don't want the entire image colorized. Yes, there is someone who really knows how to do this?

    This is a very common technique, because it turns out, and there are tons of ways to get there.

    Starting with brute force and back, create an empty layer above your B & W layer. Set the blending Mode of the layer of the Virgin of color.

    Choose the color that you want to work, take a brush (B) and go to town. The blending mode to show through values (grey levels). You can paint with colors you like on this mixed layer.

    If you use only a single color, but it may change from time to time (say by brand or something), to re-learn a layer of white, use a color fill layer (layer > new fill layer > solid color). In this case, you would add a layer of fill color, fill the black mask, and then paint with white on the mask to reveal the color.

    If you want to keep the original in one place color, replace the white layer with the color version and use the masking technique just described.

    Let me know if you need help on any of these details and I'll try to find some specific tutorials for you online.

    You don't say which version of the body you use, but in the newer versions, you use these tools to have body follow the matte for you:

  • Irish critical update needed to solve the problem of black and white tv on the G20!

    I recently had trouble with the implementation of the tv on my Qosmio G20, I was directed in the direction of an issue of black and white affecting earlier models. The solution to the problem was to use the drivers of the g20 and run 2 reg files.

    Having done that I tried all combinations Irish possible, with still in black and white without success, I then tried UK and got the color.

    I mucked with the recording files and found that there is no Irish layout in the file, then when a user updates to Ireland as their situation they will always get black and white.

    The Ireland uses the exact same settings for television as in the United Kingdom, however if a person chooses UK they fall outside the Irish guides or Irish to choose channels amongst (Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom)

    I found the settings for the United Kingdom-

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE es\ttv200x\Parameters\44]
    @= "United Kingdom".
    "FreqBoundary" = dword:000493e0
    "LB_VideoStandard" = dword:20000080
    "LB_AudioStandard" = dword:00020000
    "LB_ShiftFreq" = dword:00000abe
    "HB_VideoStandard" = dword:20000080
    "HB_AudioStandard" = dword:00020000
    "HB_ShiftFreq" = dword:00000abe

    Thinking the 44, was the dialing code for the United Kingdom (which took a while to understand), I added an entry to register with exactly the same parameters but with the Ireland and 353 above.

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE es\ttv200x\Parameters\353]
    @= "Ireland".
    "FreqBoundary" = dword:000493e0
    "LB_VideoStandard" = dword:20000080
    "LB_AudioStandard" = dword:00020000
    "LB_ShiftFreq" = dword:00000abe
    "HB_VideoStandard" = dword:20000080
    "HB_AudioStandard" = dword:00020000
    "HB_ShiftFreq" = dword:00000abe

    I now have color tv under the Irish settings in the library, I also make it sound now, where before I didn't. I hope that the code above will add registry files named ttv2_regdata_20050111.reg that comes as part of the correction of pilot http://support.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB5800V20000R01.htm to the problem...

    Thanks to jimi in what follows after http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?forumID=42&threadID=11145 for pointing me in the right direction.

    Hope this helps someone...
