  I checked the page of the Toshiba driver and the PSANNE Sat A100-044 need driver audio XP version 5.10.0.5345. The zip file is called sound - xp - 51005345.zip.

  I have a Satellite Pro L300 Vista.
  If I have problems of major incompatibility with Vista I can swap the readers so I want to set up a second hard drive running on XP Pro.

  When I try to set up the XP he sees not the SATA hard drive. I know that it's because XP does not contain the SATA drivers. Couple of questions

  (1) I saw a comment that recommendsto change the BIOS for SATA setting to "Compatibility" and this should work. I tried this but did not find it worked - everyone find it works?

  (2) where can I find the XP SATA driver? I crossed the XP drivers for Satellite Pro L300 Toshiba's web site, but could not see any SATA driver.

  As to the question;

  (1) some notebook models containing this function in the BIOS and some don t BIOS that SATA option. If the BIOS has this option, you should be able to put AHCI Compatible mode. Then a SATA driver won't be necessary but also your SATA function would be disabled and HARD drive might work more slowly. So I recommend to set to AHCI, and then reinstall the SATA driver.

  (2) the SATA driver is part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manger. You can include the SATA drivers using nLite software. The necessary files of the SATA driver can be downloaded from Intel here page:

  The SATA driver is part of the Intel Matrix Storage Manger.

  Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Intel page, and then you could include to CD Win XP SATA driver using the free software called nLite.

  Just google for nLite for a little more in detail how to use it.

  Anyway. This topic has been discussed a lot of time here in the forum. This is why I recommend using the search function of the forum and looking for the Intel Storage Manager.

  I guess you need VIDEO driver since I never heard of a RGB driver. The VIDEO (or known as VGA) driver is usually available on the toshiba driver site, so I Don t understand why you need this if you have already downloaded all the drivers available.

  Can you describe exactly what happens when you try to connect an external display?

  I had the same situation with my Satellite A300.
  Just use the touchpad Vista. It worked perfectly for me. I just installed Vista Synaptics touchpad driver.

  Don t know how you tried to install the SATA drivers, but this must be done without a doubt before, you are going to install the XP operating system.
  During the installation process you must press the F6 key to include the drivers of external USB FDD.
  I you don t have an external USB FDD drive and then use the 3rd party software called nLite to create a new XP CD and include the SATA drivers.
