  As far as I know everything you can get officially the firmware version is available on the Toshiba support page and it works if your TV does not work properly.
  It is unclear to me that you can get or download any version of service which might be able to your TV back to life again.

  Toshiba is not a good company in terms of support for firmware. The problem is that they post on their site the original frmware nor any upgrade. Known bugs have been identified and... Since that time no response, no solution, nothing. I think that I will no longer buy any product of Toshiba (hard drive or anything else). For your question, it seems strange to me that formatting a HARD drive you have lost the firmware... unless there is something written on the boot record of the Toshiba store which, once lost, does not have the device works correctly.
