  I checked the reported compatibility list, and the game is listed as compatible.  Work in 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 7?  I will try to reinstall the game, if you did an upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 recently.  If it is a new installation and does not, please visit the EA's Web site to get the latest patch for the game to see if that helps address your problem.  Let me know if you've done all that and you still have questions, and we can try something else.

  Problem: I have a red circle with a line through it m need for Speed Shift II in my Start menu.   I have never had a red circle with a line pop up on any program in my Start menu, I wanted to know why it happened and how to fix it. The game accepts updates in the form of 'Add packs' of special vehicles in the original site via the EA download manager sports. So I guess that the game is installed correctly, but the game will not open and run at all, not from the start menu, or by clicking the desktop icon.   Game Need for Speed is compatible with the windows operating system 7. You can check the Compatibility Center in windows 7.

  Follow the steps below:
  1. open your NFS directory.
  2. right click on speed.exe and select Properties.
  3. go to the Compatibility tab
  4. Select the Compatibility Mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and run resolution 640 x 480
  5. now run your game and have fun!

  Note: to start the game you have Administator Privlages.
  Also perform the clean boot on the computer.
