Need help hard drive M55

I just bought an office used for thinkcenter M55 (8808w7t), which has no operating system on it.

I have a new current USB 320 external hard drive with an internal hard drive IDE ATA/100 in there with my current windows OS XP Home on it and all my files. (I bought this for my default Dell original replacement hard drive)

What would be the best way to transfer my current content of the USB hard drive to a new drive hard internal SATA in the IBM PC and the size of a hard drive can accept this computer?

I have Acronis True Image 11 software and the only Windows xp CD I have is my operating system from Dell restore CD.

And my external hard drive USB this will work for the backup with this PC?

Under Linux, you will need to download and save the update to the bios. ISO file. Burn it. ISO image to a cd, set your bios to start from the cd, restart and check all your bios settings, mine was due to my original settings.

Maybe someone should do cela a sticky for other linux users?

  • Need help: HARD drive not recognized in XPS 8500

    Hello

I have a special edition of XP Dell 8500 which worked perfectly until this morning, when the hard drive is no longer recognized.  When the computer is resumed mode standby, the computer froze and after rebooting the main hard drive is more visible to the system at all.  DSS and DVD discs are recognized, but the HARD drive is not.  It's all original parts factory with Windows 7, and nothing in the computer has changed between yesterday and today.

I am looking for help on solving this problem.

I tried to change the power supply and the motherboard to hard drive with well-known cables, changing the setting from BIOS of RAID and AHCI, but nothing works.

Start with a DVD of Windows 7 does not detect the HARD drive at all. Run the diagnostics Dell system via F12 at startup can't find any errors - but also, he does not see the whole HARD disk.

Thanks in advance for any helpful ideas.

You have done all your possible - the drive is toast and needs to be replaced.

  • 62 G hard drive: I need a hard drive of my laptop HP G62

I need a hard drive of my laptop HP G62. Model No. b17SA can someone help me?

    Hello

The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 53 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this is described in the document of HP here.

If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set by starting on the link below.

    Order HP recovery disks.

If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

    Kind regards

  • HP pavilion dv7 4077cl need new hard drive

I need a new hard drive for my laptop HP pavilion dv7 4077cl entertainment.  The old man is a Toshiba MK6465gsx.  What would be compatible?  Maybe more now I have 640 GB of storage like most.  Can someone help me?

    Hello

Yes, the HARD drive become more fat and more (capacity), becomes also more small - actually thinner - (dimension) AND cheaper too. You can use more (once again - ability) HDD from reliable suppliers/manufacturers. 750 GB or 1 TB of a WD HARD drive would be a good start - please stay with the one who has more cache and fast (7200 rpm or more).

My suggestion: replace it with a SSD and put a larger HARD drive on the second span.

    Kind regards.

    Hello

Maybe the HDD IDE controller supports only 28-bit LBA and it would mean that more than 120 GB of HARD drive are not supported.
In this case, you can only use hard drives that are not more than 120 GB.

I think that you will need to test a HARD drive with a smaller size

    Welcome them

  • Satellite C660 needs new HARD drive - Windows 7

    Hello

My C660 needs a new hard drive. It came with Windows 7 Home premium pre-installed, and I would like to get back to that.

If I go to Microsoft to download windows 7 with my product key, it gives an error. I contacted the support Ms. I don't remember what they said, but they could not help, perhaps because it was a version of installed manufacturer?

So if I get a new hard drive, how can I go back to my previous operating system, Windows 7 Home Premium?

    Help please?

You can have the previous operating system (recovery image) If you install it using a recovery (DVD or USB) media.
I assume that you did not create this media recovery in the past, the right?

If you always use your laptop and pre-installed OS try please create this media using pre-installed recovery media utility. More info on what you can read in the document of the user manuals.

    Hello

I can't help you with the manufacturer's data, but security always begins with the date of purchase

Usually the Toshiba Unitdetails page www.toshiba-tro.de/unitdetails provides all the portable product info, but it seems that it s not working don't not with your serial number.

  • Need new HARD drive to store 120GB 1.8 steel "speaker

    Hello

I need to buy a new hard drive for my external 1.8 "store 120 GB steel box.
The model number on this external hard drive is PA4136E - 1 HA 2

What is the model of reader that is in them, is MK1229GSG.

    Hello

I think (but I m not 100% sure) the enclosure supports SATA interface.

But if you remove the internal HARD drive, then you will see the description of the HARD disk on the label.

I think that you need a HARD SATA 1.8 for the speaker.

  • Satellite A200-1QK - need new HARD drive for upgrade

I was planning on upgrading my A200-1QK (320 GB of HARD drive).

I was looking for a HARD drive with more space and possibly with more speed, I work with the composition and recording of the audio mixing software and libraries tend to consume a lot of space (I know that an Office would be the best option and I have one, but sometimes I need a more portable solution). I even thought connecting the BONES a SATAII external 1 TB HARD drive but I don't know if it's possible.

Well, but the question here is:
What are the technical proprieties that I should look for in a HARD drive so it works on my laptop?
Y at - it no avaible 7200 RPM for laptops? I'm looking for some 500 GB or larger.

    Thanks in advance =)

    Hello

Theoretically, you can buy a HARD drive with 7200 RPM, but it produces more heat and need a little more power as a 5400 RPM model. So it of your choice what you buy. ;)
You can buy each portable 2.5 HARD drive with SATA or SATA2 connector. If you are looking for a small tray on online shops, you should find enough hard drives of 500 GB at 7200 RPM.

I have good experiences with Hitachi and Western Digital hard drives.

    Thanks in advance!

Why do you replace the HARD drive? Of course what he s defective?
You can check the drive with the Drive Fitness Test:
