need help to determine the type of partition for tables
HelloI have a few tables that have millions of record. In some tables, we have data from previous years, that we do not now use. Can we create a partition of this type of tables table.
On other tables, how to decide if you should use the range/list/hash partitioning on our tables.
Do I need to recreate indexes for the tables after you create the partition tables.
Please guide me.
Best regards
Partitioning of decisions are based on how you can access data.
If you access date then partition by date.
If you go through a list of values and then use the list.
If you there is no model and you just need to break the data up into smaller compartments using hash.
I don't see why, based on what you wrote, partitioning by date range would be not worthy of consideration.

Need help to identify the type of object in the loop of pl/sql
Hello
I need help to identify the Type of object declared beneath a procedure as shown below:
I need to pass the parameter to the procedure as a TYPE of OBJECT and also refer to variables of Type Object in a loop
create or replace type TEST_VALIDATION_REC is RECORD (order_num varchar2 (30),)
number of inventory_item_id
reserved_YN varchar2 (1).
error_flag varchar2 (1).
Error_message varchar2 (2000)
);
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE VALD_TBL AS VARRAY (10000) OF TEST_VALIDATION_REC;
PROCEDURE ADD_TO_ORD)
p_lot_number_list IN VALD_TBL,
p_ord_number IN Varchar2,
p_user_id in NUMBER: = fnd_profile.value ('USER_ID'),-change 1.10
p_responsibility_id in NUMBERS: = fnd_profile.value ('RESP_ID'),-change 1.10
p_application_id IN VARCHAR2: = 'PO',-change 1.10
x_error_flag OUT Varchar2,
x_error_msg OUT Varchar2
)
In the above procedure, I had the VALD_TBL. Is it OK?
And how in the loop if the records if I use:
FOR indx1 IN 1.p_lot_number_list. COUNTY
LOOP
BEGIN
SELECT
inventory_item_id
IN
ln_item_id
Of
dummy_lot_tab
WHERE
lot_number = p_lot_number_list (indx1); - > how direct the item here?
EXCEPTION
WHILE OTHERS THEN
ln_item_id: = NULL;
END;
Records are PL/SQL objects. They are not the SQL objects. You can create a SQL TYPE (schema level) as a collection (variable-tables only, tables nested).
So therefore your first statement is syntactically incorrect
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE TEST_VALIDATION_REC IS RECORD (order_num VARCHAR2(30), inventory_item_id NUMBER, reserved_YN VARCHAR2(1), error_flag VARCHAR2(1), Error_message VARCHAR2(2000) );
You must put in an anonymous PL/SQL block or the stored procedure
DECLARE TYPE test_validation_rec IS RECORD ( order_num VARCHAR2(30), inventory_item_id NUMBER, reserved_YN VARCHAR2(1), error_flag VARCHAR2(1), error_message VARCHAR2(2000) ); TYPE vald_tbl iS VARRAY(10000) OF test_validation_rec; lv_tbl vald_tbl; BEGIN lv_tbl := vald_tbl(); -- insert your code here END;

Need help to determine the material for VMServer
Hello
I'm new to VMServer and I was hoping I could help determine what kind of material, I'll need to buy to run guests.
I run 2-4 versions of windows at the same time on the host machine, with several more in offline (and according to the needs of switching).
These would run a single application with very modest network traffic and low demands of cpu/memory/disk.
I would like to than the ability to run 64-bit operating systems.
Please let me know what would be recommended. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the community,
first of all I recommend you take a look at VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) rather than VMware Server, since VMware Server has been declared end of availability January 2010 and the end of general support will be next month (see http://www.vmware.com/support/policies/lifecycle/general/index.html)
If you want to use in the production, I highly recommend you choose a host system that is supported by VMware (see http://www.vmware.com/go/hcl)

Need help to determine the right router to buy for satellite internet
I have satellite internet service and that you have recently acquired a 2nd computer for my child. What is the best wireless router purchase? We do not have game systems or other wireless equipment.
I have a WRTP54g that I used when I had a modem cable and VOIP, but I don't have a home phone and the router slows down my internet experience horribly with the satellite service!
Do I need a new wireless router, or can I work with it?
Thanks in advance.
To upgrade the firmware of your router, you can follow this link.

Group by tablespace_name, owner, nom_segment
order by owner, nom_tablespace, nom_segment bytes
Thank youSELECT SUBSTR(s.segment_name,1,20) TABLE_NAME, SUBSTR(s.tablespace_name,1,20) TABLESPACE_NAME, ROUND(DECODE(s.extents, 1, s.initial_extent, (s.initial_extent + (s.extents-1) * s.next_extent))/1024000,2) ALLOCATED_MB, ROUND((t.num_rows * t.avg_row_len / 1024000),2) REQUIRED_MB FROM dba_segments s, dba_tables t WHERE s.owner = t.owner AND s.segment_name = t.table_name and SUBSTR(s.tablespace_name,1,20)='TABLESPACE_NAME', SUBSTR(s.segment_name,1,20) )='Your_table' ORDER BY s.segment_name;

Hi all
I've got procedure of inserting data in table1 value1 column.
My need is to determine the type of data entered by the user.
If the data type is not number user should error.
How can I make it?The easier and more reliable way would be to declare the formal parameter as a number, such as:
SQL> create procedure p (p_num in number) as 2 begin 3 null; 4 end; 5 / Procedure created. SQL> exec p('a'); BEGIN p('a'); END; * ERROR at line 1: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character to number conversion error ORA-06512: at line 1
If you cannot do this, or want to be more "user friendly", so the only alternative is to test and trigger an error like:
SQL> create procedure p (p_str in varchar2) is 2 l_num number; 3 begin 4 l_num := to_number(p_str); 5 exception 6 when value_error then 7 raise_application_error(-20001, 'I know I said it was a string, but I really want a number'); 8 end; 9 / Procedure created. SQL> exec p('a'); BEGIN p('a'); END; * ERROR at line 1: ORA-20001: I know I said it was a string, but I really want a number ORA-06512: at "OPS$ORACLE.P", line 7 ORA-06512: at line 1

Need help to determine what caused several outbound connections domain workstation
Need help to determine why my workstation area all of a sudden (in the last 4 days) seems to be launching many connections coming out of remote addresses of dllhost.exe.
So far, I scanned the machine in safe mode with Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes Antirootkit, Superantispyware, Rootkit Remover (McAfee) and various other applications of identification or remove malware without success. The machine seems to be clean of malware.
I use Sysinternals Process Explorer to view the file in question, but I can't determine how it is running. The file at the bottom of the screenshot below is the file in question. I've suspended in this shot, or there could be dozens of dllhost.exe initialized below the first.
Using tcpview from Sysinternals shows that the process to connect to several remote IP addresses which, in many cases, are not identifiable via whois (or I do something wrong, which is quite possible).
Is it possible to determine what triggers the executable which, in turn, seems to be calling outbound connections?
This issue is beyond the scope of this site and must be placed on Technet or MSDN

How to enable the end user determine the type of sort?
Helllo all,.
I use APEX 4.2.2. Oracle 11.2.0.3.
In a classic Rerpot (line custom model), how to allow the end user to determine the type of sorting?
I use decoding to select the column that the sort is done, but how to determine: Asc / Desc?
order by decode(:P2_SORT, 'PRICE', v.PRICE, 'PROP_SIZE', v.PROP_SIZE , 'BEDS' , v.BEDS , 'AREA' , v.AREA)
Kind regards
One way may be to use a second element which maintain the sort order. Lets call it P2_ASCDESC.
Your order by condition might look like this:
order by decode(:P2_ASCDESC,'ASC', decode(:P2_SORT, 'PRICE', v.PRICE, 'PROP_SIZE', v.PROP_SIZE , 'BEDS' , v.BEDS , 'AREA' , v.AREA), null) asc ,decode(:P2_ASCDESC,'DESC', decode(:P2_SORT, 'PRICE', v.PRICE, 'PROP_SIZE', v.PROP_SIZE , 'BEDS' , v.BEDS , 'AREA' , v.AREA), null) desc
I don't like this solution, since you réimplémentez one of the nicer features that apex was already out of the box. Better would be to stick to a classic report template and allow the standard user-defined sort order. Why do you think that you need your own non-standard solution?

[CS2] [VB] How can I determine the type of object to a PageItem?
I use InDesign CS2 and VBScript
Loop to the bottom of the PageItems in a Page, I need determine the Type of object (TextFrame, group, GraphicLine... each process) and PageItem accordingly.
Is there a method/function VBS wiil returns the Type of an object as a string or a value. Or what I need to check the existence/non-existence of a particular property associated with a particular object for this type?
Alternatively, is there a JavaScript function that will do what I can call VBScript?
For the record: TypeName is what you need.
For example, when the cursor is planted in the text return TypeName (Ind.Selection (1)) 'PointInsertion.' When a text block is selected, it returns "TextFrame.

Unable to determine the type of AC power adapter. Dell Inspiron 1545.
Hi all
Just recently I started receiving the error message bad "cannot determine the type of AC power adapter. Your system will run more slowly and the battery won't charge. "Please connect a Dell 65W adapter or higher for a better functioning of the system.
I've had my dell inspiron 1545 since 2009. I had to replace my battery once because I kept getting an error message. The error message above, I have been doing hard for about a week now. I had read that push the cord into the laptop could work. I know it sounds stupid, but I actually tried and for some time the adapter started to charge my battery again. But whenever I turn off my laptop I have to re connect the adapter because I get this error again. About 2 days ago, I tried my usual method of shoving the cord, but now the method does not work and my battery fell to 18%. I must say that I always keep my plugged power cord because my battery never lasted more than an hour before. It seems that my card still works when I plug it into the wall of blue light still appears. When I plug it into the laptop computer, the icon appears that it is plugged in and the display becomes brighter. I am also able to remove my battery and work on my laptop as long as the AC adapter is plugged. I'm really afraid that this problem is related to the motherboard.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
First thing to try is a new Dell AC adapter - if this doesn't fix the problem, replace the power supply (see link below). And in the unlikely event, he is not taking or adapter, the motherboard needs to be replaced.

Need help to diagnose the regular system analysis on iMac - processors maxed out
I need help to identify the cause of a problem that occurs at least 2 - 3 times per day using my iMac (27-inch, mid 2010) running 10.11.5.
I will use my iMac and then all at once things will start to really trolling. To the point of being completely unusable. Even if I'm able to move my cursor, then click to drag the windows around the screen nothing does really.
I have iStat menus running so that can see graphics in my menu bar that all 4 cores are completely overfished. Occasionally, I was fast enough to launch the activity monitor to try to see what applications / services are responsible for, the use of % CPU column is completely empty of values, so I can't identify the culprits in a reliable way. I try to keep that column sorted by % CPU use in the hope that he could reveal something and normally it's the kernel_task who is up there.
I use a Wacom Bamboo dated Tablet (MTE - 450 has) instead of a mouse, and at one point, I was convinced the pilot of PenTabletDrive it is based on was to blame. I contacted Wacom on this subject, and although there is no known issues they pointed out that although the latest drivers will allow me to use the tablet that they no longer support older devices. I was wondering if there was a problem of communication between the device and a driver that is no longer supported. I installed the latest driver supported for my tablet, but the problems persist.
It may be interesting to note that, when my computer is in this semi-frozen state, I am able to launch the window enough force and quit all open applications leaving me with only the Finder. I guess that means that there are none of my apps running and it is probably one of the services. If I restart the Finder system grinds to a completely enclosed holt.
I hope someone can let me know what I can find in the Console or elsewhere to help me finally zero in on what is to blame. I can share a log if that helps.
Thank you in advance!
Information that might be useful:
Kept by I tend to be running: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat (all CC 2015), Mail, Safari with several tabs & Dropbox sync constantly.
Download and run EtreCheck, created by one of his own assistants here in CSA. It is a diagnostic tool that is very useful for us to find problems. It will also give us additional specifications on your Mac. After his execution after the logfile here. It will never contain any personal information.
