MSC vs MTP

If this is not the case, using music services or download music, but only put records complete artist of mp3 files on music video, is it better to use the MSC? That would help solve the familiar tagging problem I see displayed and have met emyself?

Mainly all I want to do is have the artist records and songfiles mp3 or wma and select read. No other features such as the podcast, record, even FM radio are used. But PSG, it is difficult have to appear as I want to, that is to say, the names of unknown folder, a folder located in folders that are different and these songs.

Thought if MSC, he works as a PC drive and be easier and may operate as a player.

I'll try this with a few records, but I wonder if other benefits or disadvantages form other users.

Make the changes you want to the file and then click the litte button in the top right corner that looks like a floppy disk.

  • MSC AND MTP transfer problem

    Hello

I just searched in this forum and I can't find a solution to my problem. I just deleted all of my sansa e260 4GB mp3 player (V.1) with Windows Media Player and it now no longer works. I can't transfer anything on it with WMP. Then I tried to upgrade the software and successfully did after having a problem of "load main screen.

Now, my computer sees him and everything, but when I try to transfer music from WMP, it writes error once again. I then try to do it on the MSC mode and I find the music file in the hidden files. I try to transfer the stuff in there, but my drive does not see them. Can someone help me? Need my music for live .

(Running windows XP sp3, my WMP V.11 and my drive is V01.02.24A)

    Thank you

  • Playlists and MSC mode

I know there has been much discussion already MSC vs MTP, but I still have to ask a question.

I've heard about how you can create playlists by drag-and - drop, in MSC mode... but what this means and can I do it?

My playlists keep coming... really annoying voids, so any help is appreciated!

The only MSC, drag and drop solution I use Winamp.  Drag the files to the "rocket" in the Winamp playlist editor, organized as you like, then save the playlist directly on the record of MUSIC of the rocket.

  • advantages and disadvantages of the use of PSG vs msc mode?

I tried to find that answering this question somewhere else, but so far without success.  I recently got a Sansa fuse and this is the first time that I had to worry about the MSC vs MTP modes.

With all the debates of the MTP and MSC are and how to change the mode that it's in, what operating support systems what mode, etc etc etc...

I have not found anything specific to the Sansa fuse which tells me what mode is 'better' to use when I have a choice.  I know "better" is relative, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of each mode?  So far the only annoying I found on DPW is that you cannot use the option 'remove hardware safely' on most of the Windows OS, and that makes me a little nervous.  But it looks like one big annoying thing on MSC seems to be (?) that you can't always see what's on your drive when you are in Windows Explorer.

Any other pro and con on how choose (assuming you are using an operating system where you have a choice).

    Thank you!

Use MSC unless you have a subscription (Rhapsody, Napster, Overdrive) service which must transfer the information of DRM (digital rights misery), which only works with PSG.

  • Sansa Clip + 8 GB show all the music, play or delete on PC

Yesterday, I plugged the drive to my pc to remove some songs and add some new ones. Everything was going well until I went to add a song that is on my computer for a long time. When I wanted to copy into the folder music from Sansa, he said that I couldn't copy it and then did my drive started to act up.

Now when I load the folder music, I get a bunch of icons that look like the icon 'internal memory' before, it shows my music. But then it loads up to the letter T, and even then, it skips the letter S and shows only 3 songs of the letter T. It won't let me play anything out if the folder no more. If I click on any song in this folder to read it, I get the following error message...

Can not play. Try playing something else. File format can be unspoorted, file extension may be incorrect or the file may be corrupt.

I can't delete songs or even these icons because he told me that my drive is not connected. I tried changing the settings to MSC and MTP and it does not help. And neither the factory resets to zero. I think it's the * beep * windows media player. I think that it it screws to the top when he tries to synchronize my drive w / it.

My player works fine in my car. I have a stereo that has the USB port, so I can connect my player up to it. No problem.

I really don't want to reformat, but if I have too... No one knows why this happens? Is there a solution without reformatting?

I don't have us WMP to transfer songs, I do it manually. It's just that whenver I connect my player, WMP has to get involved. There certainly must be a setting where I can turn this function OFF

Use the MSC Mode, not the PSG. It's what gets involved WMP.

But, that being said... your computer cannot see files in 1 mode, at the same time, so after re - format switch the player in MSC mode (settings > system settings > USB Mode), then re - load your files on the drive. Otherwise, it can get really confusing. And do not use the Autodetect setting. Which defaults to MTP mode if it detects that WMP is on the system.

  • Acting crazy Clip + SanDisk

I have a SanDisk Sansa Clip + 8 GB MP3 player. I had no problems with my player until yestersday. Play while you drive to work, I noticed that he was jumping around a lot. As it would stop on a song, freeze for a few seconds, to pass 3-4 songs, to stop an and finally play a song about 10 seconds later. Sometimes it would move fine to the next song and sometimes he would jump and freeze the thing again. I thought that maybe my drive was too full, although my computer is telling me that I always 542 MB left on my player. This morning, I have hooked to my computer and went into the folder to remove a few songs to see if it will help. However it doesn't allow me to do so either. The screen on my player shows it is connected to the computer, but when I try to delete a song, my PC says my player is not connected or the player does not and will not erase the song. What can I do?

EDIT * just returned in it and now my music folder is completely empty. I was not trying to delete anything out of my regular music folder. I tried to delete songs from my playlist folder. I went back into a playlist that I got in there and he still has most of these songs but also has 20-30 icons before the list of songs that say they are local disks? I don't understand.

It may be a bad power cord. You have another? It is a standard miniUSB (no microUSB) connection.

Once you get a connection, go to Settings/System Settings/USB Mode and try the MSC and MTP to see if you can see your music. Music goes by MTP or MSC, and your computer may see only sent by a mode of music.

If it did, it's probably in MTP mode, waiting for the Windows Media Player to control the player, and a few business synchronization went crazy.

I suggest updating the firmware in case he went crazy.  Settings system/settings/USB Mode MSC.  Near the top of the first forum page is a sticky thread to update software. Use the manual method: download the .zip file, unzip the and then drag in the SANSA CLIP drive letter. It will update when you sign out without modify files that you put on.

After this, the easiest thing maybe just start over.  Settings settings/system/Format will drain the player of your files. Then choose a USB Mode (instead of Auto): WMP if you want to use Windows Media Player playlists etc., MSC, if you want it to run just like another drive on your computer (actually two discs: the internal memory and the card) to drag and drop. Put your music on the reader and the card and hope for the best.

  • Unable to connect to the audio system with USB

When I try to connect to my home stereo, it says that the drive is empty or not recognized. (Empty in Auto detection and MSC and MTP device)  He charges with the icon of the Mp3 player and the computer on the Sandisk card.

I can play with the Jack as analog to my home stereo and car stereo, but the volume is very low.

    I have the latest firmware...

Any other suggestions on how to connect with usb?

    Thank you

With USB its basically just using your player as a USB thumb drive. Given that USB keys only a disc and use MSC, you must be in MSC mode and eventually remove all microsd cards. No matter what music you add in MTP mode cannot be accessed. If the volume is low, more analog, you can be in Europe or have put the region in the European Union, where laws prevent mp3 players to have full volume. You can change the region in the USA and things will work normally.

  • I can't see the files I copied in my clip in another PC

    Hello again.

I put a lot of songs in my video to my PC at home, I copied them into the Music"" folder. But when I plug in my work laptop and open the folder music unit, they are gone! In fact, if right now I copy music from my laptop to work in device environment, these files I don't see when I connect the player to the PC in my house. I've used format of the clip function has to start again and put some files in my pc at home, and once again, I don't see them if I try to view them at work.

Thanks in advance for any help =)

Moreover, I think that my firmware is v01.01.18A

    Thanks again.

Songs transferred to MSC mode are invisible when it is connected in MTP mode.

Songs transferred in MTP mode can not be seen when it is connected in MSC mode.

The value of the USB MSC or MTP mode, but no automatic detection.  If you want to use Rhapsody or download audiobooks (Audible, NetLibrary, OverDrive, etc), you'll want to PSG.  If only the music with no license and then use MSC if it works with more computers.

  • No record in my Zip Clip

With Windows Explorer, the only file shown on my Zip Clip is "Devicon.fil". What happened to the records to which I can add music? Is it possible to reformat the Zip Clip so I have the necessary files?

When I turn on the Clip Zip I can switch between the different choices (Radio, Sport, music, etc.), but I can't add any tunes via drag and drop.

What is the USB setting under settings of the player, the value options? You could try it MSC mode if set to Auto or MTP mode right now, or if set MTP mode in MSC mode. The trick with the USB mode is, your computer sees only the files that have been moved to the drive under USB mode that the player is then connected to the computer under. The reason why it may be better to leave the value MSC or MTP USB mode all the time and always (and to avoid the USB Auto setting, which tries to connect in MTP mode but then by default in MSC mode, if necessary).

  • How to delete songs that came on my Sansa Fuze?

My Sansa Fuze came with 19 songs on what I want to delete but I don't know how.  When I plug in my Sansa Fuze in my computer the songs do not appear on my computer but they are on the device when I use it.  They are not in the 'Music' folder or any folder when I manage the device to my computer.  Can someone tell me how to remove these unwanted songs?

If you don't have any other music/photos/videos etc.  on the "rocket", or you have copies that you are ready to transfer again, the best way to get rid of these songs is to format the "rocket" that erases all content (but does not change its integrated software). Settings from settings/system/Format.

Or if you have a friend with a new Windows computer, you can see the songs and delete them yourself.

Why can't you see these songs? It's a long story, but a bit simple.

The "rocket" has two modes USB, MSC and MTP (Settings/System Settings/USB Mode). They have two different lines in the "rocket" and your computer can only read one at a time. (The "rocket" sees it bit any mode).

The songs of the sample were transferred in MTP mode. But your computer connects via MSC - my favorite - mode so it cannot see them.

MSC treats the "rocket" as a generic flash drive. You can drag and drop manually, or if you want you can use Winamp or Media Monkey to sync things.

MTP allows the "rocket" be controlled - sync, etc. - by Windows Media Player 10 or higher. It allows also WMP transmit codes DRM (Digital Rights Muck) hidden-in-the-user for things like the songs protected against copying and audiobooks that expire. Probably not, you use those.

The idea was to have the equivalent of iTunes/iPod of coordination for the majority of users - but also for the greater freedom and control of Maritime safety, if a user wants to change. No Windows, on Mac or Linux users, find yourself on MSC as well.  The only real requirement for MTP mode is for DRM files.

On a computer that has Windows Meda Player 10 or higher, Auto Detect mode the "rocket of" (the third choice in Settings/System Settings/USB Mode) - which is what the "rocket" uses unless you changed it - connects in MTP mode and these songs will be visible and removable. That's why it would be simpler to use PC a friend Windows - Vista, Windows 7, etc.

The original Windows XP comes with Windows Media Player 9 - a too old version for PSG. If you are running XP you could update WMP (via support.microsoft.com) to empty these songs. Then, you must return to the MSC (not Auto Detect) and do all what you did previously to transfer your music., you'll have all your visible songs by you.

  • Rocket open internal memory

Trying to move music from WMP11 to rocket, but explore only already shows music on the player.

Doubleclicking on Fuze in Win Explorer doesn't go to Int Mem

Disconnect. Go to settings system/settings/USB Mode.

PSG, is to interface with the Windows Media Player. Auto Detect will choose PSG if it is Windows Media Player 10 or higher on your computer, MSC otherwise. But it does not always work right. If you use WMP 11, you probably want to just leave in the MTP

The other mode, MSC, should make the "rocket" will appear on your computer as a two disc drives, one for the internal memory, one for card. You don't need WMP to send music over - you can just drag and drop by MSC.

That sees Explorer Windows depends on the way the music was sent to the "rocket". He cannot see songs provided by MSC or MTP, not both at the same time. The "rocket", at the same time, does not care how they got there. So, you might try the two modes to view your music. It is best to choose a mode and use it all the time--isn't that the rocket cares, but it's less embarrassing for you.

  • Deinstitutionalized drive, my computer can not find the music stored on the internal drive

I was recently released from the balance of PAYMENTS (Bureau of Prisons), and I gladly paid $25 for the reader deinstitutionalized. I got it in the mail and I am very happy with the improvements, however, when I plug it into the computer, the computer cannot find the music that I invested a lot of money.  The drive works fine.  I can listen to all the songs that are on it, but I can't find them with all software, including the software downloaded from Sansa. When I click on the player, in any program/browser, I get the same thing: the folders that are empty.  It saves space, but sees ALL files.  Many of the albums available at the bottom of the PYRAMID were incomplete and I want to "fill the gaps", but can not find the whites to fill.  Any help would be wonderful.  I paid my $95 (for the player AND have unlocked it) MORE about $1400 in the songs, so it's a pretty big deal for me to get access... Thanks in advance.

My guess is, it is a question of USB MSC - MTP mode.

Your drive may be connected to your computer in the title of one of the 2 separate USB MSC or MTP modes.  This is located under settings of the player.  (There is a 3rd option it, auto-detection, trying to connect under MTP mode but then fold in MSC mode, if necessary.)  Is the reason why it's important, files transferred to the Clip under a mode USB can only be seen by your computer when the computer is under this same mode.  And so, for example, if the songs are put on the player mode USB MSC, if you connect later under MTP mode, the computer will not see these files.  If you have set the player to one of the USB modes and always use this mode (MSC mode is the least problematic, in virtue of which the player is considered to be a USB key; however, MTP mode is necessary for files protected by DRM), you're fine.  If, however, you change mode, emits a "invisibility".  And if you're ready auto detection, the computer can change the modes on you without you knowing.

And thus, better Board: turn on the player (recommended) MSC or MTP mode and stay there and stay away auto detection setting.

And if you have been on a mode but want to switch to the other and to be able to see all of your files on your computer, set the player to the previous mode, transfer your music to your computer and delete them from the player, re - set the player to new USB mode and transfer the songs back.

  • Download directly from the Internet to the directory podcast Clip3

Is it possible toDownload directly from the Internet to the podcast Clip3 on the device directory. I have on my old Samsung mp3 player.

    Thanks in advance

Files on the Clip + can be seen under mode ID3 (such as the podcasts folder) or folder view.  They are not physically twice.

As to not see the files of clips on your computer:

When your player is connected to your computer using USB MSC (set under settings of the player), your computer only see files that had been moved to the drive when the drive is connected in MSC mode.  Similarly with regard to the MTP mode.  However, all the files appear and can be played on your player, under some USB mode setting.

A reason why some people prefer to set the USB Mode on their player to MSC or MTP: setting Auto, the Player tries to connect in MTP mode but then you will return in MSC mode if the connection of the MTP does not; as a result, you can have a mixture of MSC and MTP mode transferred the files to your drive, making some of them isn't visible on your computer without going to the other USB mode.

Because MSC mode is more universal (playing with a wide range of operating systems, including Linux and on Mac, and without the need for Windows Media Player on the computer), some people prefer MSC mode.  However, note that the DRM (digital rights management) files need MTP mode - they will not transfer enough (the DRM license will not transfer) in MSC mode.

  • Folders appear empty when they are not

I am a new user and if competent would not consider myself particularly knowledgeable.

I want only the P3 player to listen to music or audio books while working so once loaded that I have loaded to the top with a few books.  I used just drag / move (as by accident he only would allow me to put them in the music folder).

Everything worked well, it loaded, I listened to etc.  Until I came to change for some new books.  I have connected to the computer (Win 7) in Explorer, the player ended up with predefined folders but I was told that there is no file in the music folder.  I checked on the player, and they are there.  I tried to load a new file on in any case.  I was told that it there was not enough room.

I checked how many the player has been used: almost all of it - still checked every file individually this is a not add up!

So I don't see any of my files, I cannot delete any and can't put new.  I tried on 4 different computers.

I tried to sync with Media player thinking it would eliminate what was out there.  No pass - it just tells me that there is not enough room.

    Am I missing something obvious?

The easy way to clear the contents of your drive:

Under the player settings - menu system settings, there is an option to Format (or reformat).  Select it and the content that you have added to your drive will be deleted (this will not delete the files system of the player).

The option for setting USB also can be found here, for the value MSC or MTP (avoid self!).

  • car stereo you see don't no fuze

I just bought a rocket of amazon.com has worked great for a few weeks now, it will not play my alpine car stereo! I pluged in my wifes rocket and it works fine. Anyone have any ideas?

Go to Settings/System Settings/USB Mode and try the MSC and MTP. Or see what's your woman on Fuze and use parameters.

The "rocket" sees all the music on the device. But a computer and probably a car, cannot see the music in one mode at a time. Music sent further PSG will be not visible in MSC mode and vice versa.

If your doing a different setting that your wife, your music will be played in a different place and may not appear on the car radio. You should maybe remove the music, so that it matches your wife to redefinition and send the music even more in this environment.
