  I've been on several site trying to play games or watch videos (YouTube, for example) and get an error message saying that I need to install Adobe Flash Player in order to play/view.  I did this several times and currently have 11 ActiveX of Flash Player and Flash Player 11 Plugin.  That I do because it still doesn't let me see the video or play games.

  Additional information: I found myself just download Google Chrome (but don't like) and do not have the same problem.  So, it happens only when I'm doing all this on Internet Explorer 9.

  I tried everything, my computer is new, and it drives me crazy.  Tried to install, uninstall, everything.  Was able to install a previous version by dragging the file .pkg on the desktop, but when I try to use safari, it disables the program due to the inconsistency of the security.  If someone had the same problem and fixed it, please let me know.  Exactly 50% complete, it crashes and a message to close safari, but safari is already closed.

  Finally succeeded!  OK, here's what I did: it was a combination of two things I've read in various forums.

  1: go to System Preferences > Security and confidentiality and in the "allow applications downloaded on:"section, choose "Anywhere".»   There is a file in the module of installation of adobe that is not recognized as coming from a "identified developer.   Then I went back to the most recent adobe and re downloaded the flash player page.  Tried to reinstall and still the same problem as before.  Stopped at 50% asking to close Safari.  So, I did the following:

  2nd: this time instead of closing Safari by pressing the red X button, I pulled down on the safari tab and clicked on the safari output control.  A click on the retry on the installation window button and magic! It worked.

  Finally after 5 hours of frustration it worked...  I never thought I meet with such a problem with a brand new Mac... with the money I paid for it, would wait much more easy performance upgrade process... and compatibility with adobe... an issue that should been resolved a long time ago.  I guess that's a problem on both sides... some clearer instructions for the upgrade would be greatly appreciated.

  Hi Chris;

  All you need is a set of codec files reflecting the MKV format to use audio/video stream. The codecare like translators who take the image video format and encode or decode for viewing in your favorite media player. I would recommend that you download and install K-Lite Codec pack from here.

  Get either the Standard or complete package to halfway to the bottom of the page. There is a package tailor-made for 64-bit if your Windows 7 is that the flavor. The 64-bit package is not always necessary, as most of the programs are still 32-bit. There is also this set of reliable codecs.

  Another video player is not necessary, but if you decide to get one, I recommend the free VLC Player but beware of the source that you pick up all this because it is open source and easily modified into something that you don't want. Here is a link to the "official" site

  I hope someone can help me, because I go crazy about it.  So I try to download flash player 10.  It is said that I downloaded successfully, but I get no animation, and on youtube, it tells me that I need the latest version of the flash player.

  I'm under IE 8, my OS is Windows XP with service pack 2.

  I don't know what I'm doing wrong.  I tried the suggestions I have read here, and I don't know how to start IE in safe mode.  I copied the instructions on start, run, iexplore - extoff and that did not work.  When I did, I have the bar at the top of the screen, saying that I had to manage my Add ons, and he never gave me an option to allow it to install.

  I tried going through the Control Panel, uninstall all of my adobe products (reader, flash player, shockwave), and then reinstall them, and it does not work.

  • Close all browser windows and start the program uninstaller
  • reinstall Flash Player from http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

  1. are you able to play the other mpegs successfully?
  2. what version of Windows Media Player do you use?

  I suspect that the file is corrupted.

  Method 1.
  Check if you can play the same video in a different media player.

  Method 2.
  You may need to check if the codecs work very well to play the file. Check if you have installed third party codecs. Uninstall them and re - install and then check.

  I want to get out of my system because since I installed it I got problems with the loading of Chrome he does not load then if I restart my comptuter & I click on chrome 5 windows open at the same time a white box appears saying "your profile not usable because it comes from a later version of the google chrome browser.» Some features may be available. I also had problems with my flash drive error messages: saying that it has stopped working constantly, it says upgrade text flash, a flash plug-in Shockwave does not then in (locking pin in) he wants that you hit.  I ran 3 different programs Mallware via my computer just in case it is a question that would arise.   My computer is a flag of Hewlett-Packard with an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2220 @ 2.40 GHz 64-bit operating system using Windows Vista Home Premium, Service Pack 2.  The default browser which I use is Internet Explorer 64-bit.

  Hi Alex, you are doing great! On the Flash Player 9.0 and higher thing. A lot of sites that will tell. What they mean is that you must have at LEAST this version. In other words, if you have version 8 of the Flash Player, you could not use its Web site. We hope that help to explain these messages. Of course they will support version 10, etc..

  Flash Player after it is installed is listed in Add/Remove (for XP), programs & features/Control Panel. Where you have all your programs in the list, such as Adobe Air, etc. is when Flash Player is listed. Flash Player does not list a size, since it is a browser plugin and works through your browser. The fact that you've listed it is where it should be. But the evidence that it is working and installed correctly is the fact that you found Shockwave Flash Object in the management addons and it helped him. By doing this, you could see the Flash Player logo animate. This means that Flash Player is properly installed and working
