Need help to remove all snapshots

We have a Web VM server that had about 6 photos attached to it.

We were in lack of space on our logic unit number so we did a remove, but who did not do anygood and I think (197 GB) snapshots are always in the virtual machine folder.

We have about 18 GB of free space.

Please advised.

Sounds good.

I see you have removed the third virtual disk to the virtual machine (without removal of the disc). To avoid problems, remove the file 'wwwtest.vmsd' at this point.

Once the cloning is done (vmkfstools completed successfully), modify the virtual machine settings and remove the second HDD (not yet him le supprimer remove the disk, remove only the virtual hardware), and then add the new clone virtual disk on the virtual computer (make sure that it is connected to "scsi0:1"). To ensure the old virtual disks are not used, create a new subdirectory in the folder of the virtual machine and move all the files 'wwwtest_1 *.vmdk' in this folder (this can be done using the browser of data store).

Now it's time to turn on the virtual machine to see if everything works as expected. If Yes, you can safely remove the files move to the subdirectory.

ATTENTION: If you have problems, please do not try to pick up the old virtual disk. Report back here and I will help.

After you confirm the steps above, we can do a bit of cleaning and/or bring the virtual disk cloned in his folder 'home '. Please attach the latest vmware.log once again, I can take a look.

removal of files inside the guest is contra-productive - it will enlarge only snapshots.

Hmm - so you say version 2.0.2 also has this bug?

So either copy the VM is much more big disk and use the shortcut function to remove a snapshot - or copy it to USB and plug this drive into a host Workstation with installed.

Or - this would work as well with VMserver2...

    Hello

Scan of Malware in Safe Mode with network.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/how-to-start-Windows-in-safe-mode/#Vista

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode with networking with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

Once in Safe Mode with network, download and run RKill.

RKill does NOT remove the malware; It stops the Malware process that gives you a chance to remove it with your security programs.

Then, download, install, update and scan your system with the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware in Mode safe mode with networking:

  • Help! Remove the snapshot

    Hello

It is an Exchange virtual server. Someone on my team tried to take a snapshot, while it is online, and it has not been successful. It was to ask him something like do not include "memory of the Virtual Machine. He did and the snapshot was created. Now, when I look at the files on the storage directory, I'm confused. I do not understand why the vmsn file is so small and why there are three vmdk files (I have only two hard drives on this machine).

This machine has two readers. A single system (drive C) and data (drive E). C is a virtual disk, while E is a Raw mapped LUNS ("Compatibility Mode: / persistent virtual /Independent"). It's time to remove the snapshot, but I'm not confident enough on that. Please see the picture I have attached. I need someone to clarify what these files and suggest a safe way to remove the snapshot. I can't afford much time for this critical server.

    Much appreciated,

    Eagleh

    Hello

The suggested method for sure is to delete all the snapshots of the graphical user interface, as it has already been answered. The files that you see are the following:

Exchange.VMDK - 1 volume logic, there is actually a hidden or both files which does not appear in the data store Navigator. Its called something like Exchange - flat hard

2nd Exchange_1.VMDK logical volume. In this case, a pointer to a RDM and a hidden file which is the delta of the snapshot (Redo Log). This only works if the RDM is in compatibility from snapshot mode.

Exchange - 000001.vmdk 1 logical volume delta file.

images of memory *. VMSN VM in this case, it is small because the 1try failed, and the second was set to ignore the capture of memory.

    Hope that helps.

    Kind regards

    Mike

  • Need help to remove the zeros on the right

    Hello.

I need help to replace the zeros in the string.

I have a string which is the output of the network packet. There are a few trailing zeros in the package.

I don't see them in normal mode, but the size of the string tells me that it's bigger then it looks like.

When I pass in hexadecimal mode, you can see zeros.

I tried to use the find/replace function allows you to search for 0 and replace it with an empty string constant. But, for some reason any, that he took no zeros.

I need to stop the string that follows * 69.

Show your code.  You won't find and replace with all zeroes.  These 00 in hex mode they are null characters.  (not printable byte with a value of zero).  You need search and replace on that character.  (replace string should look like 00, when it is set to display the hexadecimal code.

    Original title: DELETING FILES

I have a large amount of support .png files that have been placed on my C:\ drive, by some malicious programs or the system.  Whatever it is, I want to remove them because they take a disproportionate amount of space (about 25 GB to an indicative value).  They are in a sub-sub-sub etc directory and appear to be copies of random images as advertisements for computers, cars, soccer players and goodness knows what else, since every time I try to see, explore stops at halfway through, due to the large amount of files.

So my question is: is there a way to delete these files without the help of Windows Explorer, for example by using a command line? or is there another utility of file management that I could use?

I would appreciate help on this.

    Start > type CMD

Right click on CMD and select run as administrator

  • "Remove all" snapshots causing startup problems.  How to manually compile snapshots?

    Hey guys,.

We run our production and test servers ESXi 3.5 with great success.  However, like many others, we have struggling to find a good economic backup solution if we use a Perl script edited by for this.  The script applies a snapshot and then copying the original files for the guests.  In the end, the script removes the snapshot, and we're back in business.  Most of the time, everything works perfectly.  This morning, we arrived to find the extremely slow server with about 10 snapshots.  Not realizing exactly what "remove all" done in terms of balooning, the size of the previous snapshots, we chose this selection.  The Server shut down (I guess due to the increase in the size of the previous snapshots) and when we tried to restart, we encountered the error that you see in the attachment.

Look a bit more close to the data store, it seems that most of the snapshots for virtual disk 1 have been removed, but it has been left over.  The other virtual disks 2-4 were intact.  The server does not start and if I return to the .vmdks that are available, I've lost two weeks of a data value.  Is it possible to manually apply the changes in snapshots to the .vmdks so that we can keep as many changes as possible on the 2-4 drives?

    Thank you

    Seth

OK - now I would use vmkfstools to each of the 4 drives clone.

    the first is NOMADSERV01_1 - 000009.vmdk

     vmkfstools -i NOMADSERV01_1-000009.vmdk /nomadserv-disk1.vmdk

    next is "NOMADSERV01_2 - 000009.vmdk".

      vmkfstools -i NOMADSERV01_2-000009.vmdk /nomadserv-disk2.vmdk

before you try, you must correct the snapshot of the string that was spoiled by the basediskalone running.

I think that the first two should work if you use the edited files, I have attached.

    Then, two coming soon

  • Need help LOCAL for ALL my apps from master collection CS6

HELP for CS products went down hill every version from CS4. I just installed CS6 master collection and can't get help to work 90% of applications. It shouldn't be so difficult. I shouldn't lose hours searching so enless this damn user seas to try to get simple help for a product. Adobe is just trying to slide off it is supported of the responsibilities on the public.

I want FULL LOCAL HELP CONTENT for ALL my CS6 master Collection Apps installed on MY machine. and when I click on 'Help' that is what I want. I don't want to go online to get help.

How to do that and how 'LOCAL' by default for ANY help

    Joel

Try this solution of two parts:

Part i: the Adobe installer helps to use offline Help content (if exists) as a source rather than the configured online help

    1. start Adobe if installed Help.exe on your machine with CS6 products. I found that it installed on my machine Win7 to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Adobe\Adobe Help\Adobe Help.exe. It will open the Adobe help Manager preferences.

2 Select 'Yes' radio button for 'General Settings' > ' display local help only content:

Part II: Download and set up help offline (PDF) for your product from the adobe.com website.

    1. read the "help offline use in Adobe products | http://helpx.Adobe.com/x-productkb/global/offline-help.html KB download PDF for your CS6 or current CC version helps.

    2. After downloading the PDF locally follow the section "using the help within your Adobe PDF product from" put PDF files on your computer so that it works with Adobe products.

    As mentioned on the KB.

    • Windows 7
      C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\PDF\pdf\
    • Windows 8
      C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Adobe\PDF\pdf\
    • Mac OS
      / Users/Shared/Documents/Adobe/PDF/pdf /.

Important: CS6 help PDF must be copied to the Adobe\PDF\pdf\cs6\ folder in order to work with the version of CS6 Adobe products.
