• I need to get out a Zire 31 to make sure that I am not to send my data to the recycler?

  I have a Zire 31 dead I think still has some data in it.  I don't have a charger in all cases.  I want to send to Palm recycling.  I've unscrewed the back and would like to know what I need thing remove to ensure that someone else cannot read my card data.

  Wendy, as explained salima, when the power is off, the data are gone.

  If you want to put this issue to rest, remove one of the battery connections; This will ensure that the data are gone forever!

• Need Driver for Palm Zire 71 Dock

  I need a driver for my Palm Zire 71 dock. I don't have the original disc.

  When I press the sorce button, nothing happens.

  I have download one to transfer data from the computer to the Palm.

  I have windows XP Pro Service pack 2 as W\, I have Vista on my laptop

  Well, I did everything in the troubleshooting and nothing.

  When I open and close the camera, it doesn't do a hard reset. I'm guessing that the last owner has let him down.

  I'll take it apart and see if there is any loose wires.

  Ill go out and buy a new before I send it to be fixed

• Dead Zire 21 - new battery need? How to disassemble?

  Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. Hope you can help me a bit with my little experience of Palm.

  I had a Palm Zire21 that has some problems with turning the power on. It does not seem to load. At least, I couldn't find any screen it does. How can I check whether or not it requires? Should there be something visible on screen?

  In addition, when it running on the power supply and the connection via USB to the computer it does not appear. I was expecting to see here when it is powered. So I think that the battery may be dead. Is this feasible? I tried to disassemble the appliance but do not know how. On the back there are two Torx screws. I can't release them. I have to? Otherwise, how can we separate the housing of the electrical inside without destroying?

  Connect the power supply and leave your handheld on charge overnight. After recharging, let the pocket computer plugged into the power outlet and press the reset button several times on to see if the device turns on. If so, you should get a battery icon with a lightning bolt through it to indicate the battery is charging.

  If your handheld turns on not following these steps, you can call Palm to set up a repair. The price to repair the Z21 by Palm is $ 75.00.

  Hardware support, including but not limited to all the drivers and other software, is manufacturer of the equipment.  Microsoft did not your Palm Zire m150 - so that they do not support.  ;-)

  Hi, I went to an antique store today and find a palmone Zire 31 for two dollars, so I decided to do. It has no cables, CD, anything. It's just the palmone zire 31 device and the thing of the pen. Well, I found a few USB cables that correspond to the House for my camera and stuff but when I plug the slightly illuminated screen. I thought it was good, but my computer doesn't recognise no and says it fails. Does this mean that it does not work? Should I just forget and not buy a new cord for this? Or are there special drivers, I need to work.   Installed the CD software Zire 31 and lost all the data (contacts, addresses, etc.) in the Zire 21 on my computer and my Zire 21 handheld computer.

  bak and DAT files will not work in the installation tool quick, only PRC and PDB files.

  what you need to do is to use the option import into palm desktop.

  Here's how to import it into palm desktop:

  1. open palm desktop

  2. go to contacts

  3. click on file, then choose Import

  4 locate the .dat file that you save in your computer

  5. click on import

  by the way the friends of gold and other small files are your categories. You can choose to import one by one as the import process will only include the default categories of palm desktop and turn your self made categories to unclassified however, you can get it in bulk so if you import by categories, you will get per batch.

  It's your call you want to import batch or if you want to import at a time and he reclassified later.

• Zire 72 battery change

  I ordered a battery of Zire 72 on Ebay a long time ago and cannot find anyone in Calgary to change for me.  I tried it myself, but I can't get the body pried share must have needed a special tool.

  The closest I have so far, is a battery shop who asked me to leave with him during the night (not interested in it) and Best Buy, who said they might be able, but cannot guarantee.

  You don't need a special tool, just a little more "punch".  It is aligned together quite firmly, that you just have to overcome the tabs in plastic that keep.

• Memo file causes Zire Crash

  I have a Zire22 that worked well until recently. Now, after the synchronization of the device, when I try to access the notes from the screen is blank and I need to reset the Zire. Everything else works fine. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the software of office without success. Is there a fatal corruption or is there something I can do?

  It seems that the memos is corrupted. I would hard reset the device first if all your information is saved on your PC. Then I would delete/restore all memos on your computer. Once you finished to correct the memos, I then go to Hotsync and change led him memos on DESKTOP computer REPLACED of POCKET. I think that should do it.

  If this happens tell Calendar or contacts again follow the same steps - there is really no need to uninstall the software, unless your getting a windows error.

  I have a Zire 71. I want to upgrade to a Palm tree that I can use as a phone and email. I need a device with a desktop calendar option and I need to use Verizon for telephone service. The Palm website is no help. Any recommendations?

  There is no new phones Palm OS being made or sold.  If you want, you go to the used/refurb market such as eBay.

  The phones webOS Palm (Pre or Pixi), available from Verizon, will help synchronize you directly with your existing desktop calendar and contacts using one of several third-party applications that work well, including Echo Chapura PocketMirror or CompanionLink.

  I suggest you take a reading by the stickied thread near the top of the synergy Council dealing with synchronization on a local desktop webOS phones.

• REPLACEMENT FOR ZIRE M150

  My Zire M150 is finally broken. I have a lot of personal data stored on my computer main hardrive I want to transfer to a new device held in the hand. The Zire uses the Palm OS 4.1 software. I am looking for a solution of low cost / low tech, i.e. I need the address book, calendar and Notepad but not much more, although the ability to sync with my main computer is vital. Can someone direct me to a new feature please?

  From your description of your desires and your needs, your best bet is to go on eBay and look for a device Palm OS used or refurbished replacement, like a Z22, Tungsten E2 or a TX.  Palm has stopped selling new PDA a year and half ago.

• Limitation of music download - Zire 31 expansion card

  I use a Zire 31 and connection USB Dell MusicMatch to try to download MP3s on my card for the expansion of 1 GB and several problems.  Help on one of them would be much appreciated.

  I got about 300 MB on the card, but it does not load the songs more. I tried to use Add files, synchronization, drag-and-drop/HotSync, even Windows to put new music on the map and none of it works.  I tried it with a direct link and also using a card reader.  (The only other file on the map is for Palm Launcher, whose properties are displayed as having no content.)

  Also, when I try to use RealOne, I get an "unsupported media type" for MP3 files, when I try to download songs and when I try to transfer MP3s with MusicMatch.  But when I use the file type of RA, the Zire does not display these songs.

  Finally, even when I have the player on Random he plays the same songs of 15 or more rotating.  If I hear anything else, I need to select in the list of songs.

  I did not take anything else in the manuals, online, or in the community forums.  Someone at - it experience or ideas?

  I am a Mac user and installed the software for my Photosmart C4780 on my IMac desktop computer. No problem and it works well.

  I then installed Windows 7 on my Mac using a program called Parallels Desktop 5 and also installed the software for my Photosmart C4780 on Windows 7.

  The result is that theIMac identifies two printers on the same computer and I need to remove one. I think the easy way to do it is to use, on an 7only Windows, deletion on the installationCD software.

  However, before I do so I would appreciate your confirmation, it is the correct thing to do. The alternative is to delete the software on Windows 7 and the Apple IMac and start again.

• Zire 21 HotSync with vista 64-bit via infrared?

  I found here many information on vista64 infrared sync for ZIRE 22 and 31. Does anyone know if this works also with ZIRE 21? It is a very simple model, but I just like it, and I really don't need a new and 'better' pocket pc or a smartphone. I was very happy to use my zire several years without any problems. Thanks for your replies.

  Infrared is a standard of the IR on the z22 is the same whether on the Zire 21, so if it works on that it should work on the other.
