• NEED HELP: on how to make the text field on the image (file I) sliced in Dreamweaver

  First of all, I will apologize for not being a guy of current code or understanding terminology.  I'm old school and build Web sites for my businesses and programs.  I have a situation where I have designed a website on Illustrator and sliced the site and imported into Dreamweaver. Everything works fine, however, I train for the life of get me a (perhaps called a tag div or something) text box on one of my sliced background images.  I have tried everything; read online tutorials and watched, however, it does not work for me.  In the past, I had someone just put the code in (or fix my code) to make a table of open field, on top of my background image that I slit, so that I could add the content type to it.  Can someone help me with this please?

  Here is the code for the site.  I put RED, the text field I try to overlay a text table or a box to work with.   Thank you a lot if someone maybe can add the code (or the DIV) to make it work, but also if you can put it in a different color so I know how to this in the future, it would be a great help too.

  You sent a couple of workarounds

• cannot change the text field after grouping

  Hi people,

  I have 3 single-line text fields and a logo combined using 'Add parents '.  For some odd reason, I can't select a field to edit text.  I can select them in the assets Panel and change the layout or style, but as soon as I double-click to edit the text, my selection goes to the div parent instead of the text field.  I tried to use the text as well, but it always happening in selection to the parent.  This isn't a big deal since I can change the text later in a Publisher, but it's a little frustrating.

  FWIW, I ran the update of this morning before starting, but I doubt that caused this nothing thanks for any help

  So sorry Chris, in my frustration, I removed the parent and the group so I can get the item that I wanted to edit, and then recreated the parent.

  However, your description of the differences between the Group and Add Parent in this discussion: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1361983?tstart=0 probably explains why I have problems.  I think I had GROUPED fields 3 text and then wrapped in this group and the image of the logo in another div with 'Add parents '.  I have probably not been not clicking successfully through the parent company to the group, and then in the text field.  In fact, I was clicking like mad, but probably not on the correct spot for each level.

• By selecting the text box to change the text field

  I worked on a form to allow suppliers to fill their reports of endoscopy online.  I'm trying to do something very simple.  If a user selects a check box change the value in a text field.  Either we allow the code to run once.  It will change the value once - even if I think it's to set an incorrect value in the code - but that is neither here nor there at this point.

  Here's the code that should work in my opinion.

  It's just a typo. You typed rawvalue rather than rawValue "V" must be upper case.

• Selector of colors and dynamic text fields

  Good so I have two problems here, and I don't know how to solve one of them!
  
  Problem 1.
  Change the font of a dynamic text field. I know how to do this with the properties of text etc format using action script, but I don't know how if you create a text field in the action script.
  
  I need to change the font of the text in a dynamic text field that is created and remains on the scene. I have a clip, and inside that movie clip is the text field, with all the content properly shaped. If I had to add the text field using action script I loose all the formatting. So is that nothing at all that I can change the text field properties by using script of action of a dynamic text field created on the stage?
  
  Problem 2.
  The color picker component! I want to use the color selector component to change the color of the text in the above dynamic text box. No doubt, I have the same problem as above, but this side, I can't work out how to draw the color from the color picker value when the user selects. I tried to use the ColorPickerEvent ColorPickerEvent.CHANGE knowledge... and so on. However, I am coding on the frame instead of an external action script file. and when I export the movie, the following error message appears: 1046: Type was not found or is not a constant of compilation: ColorPickerEvent.
  
  Someone at - it ideas how can I remedy this?

  I don't know if I understand the problem of text format that you are experiencing. Looks like you want to have text that is already formatted to change to another format.

  If this is the case, simply set the new text format whenever the time comes to do so.

  If you have...

  var format1:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
  Format1.font = "arial";
  Format1. Size = 14;

  var format2:TextFormat = new TextFormat();
  format2.font = "papyrus."
  format2.size = 28;

  Then you can switch between the two formats according to the needs...

  tField.setTextFormat (format1);

  tField.setTextFormat (format2);

  as long as these formats are in the scope of their guest.

  I've seen cc Photoshop tutorials where you can change the text color by using the eyedropper tool on the color swatch Panel. When the text is selected and the color swatch Panel is open. When I chose is which color I want out the color swatch Panel all them it does to change the foreground color and return to the soil box, why it changes the color of the text, as I have seen in tutorials?

  When highlighted often is difficult to tell what color the text. You can work around this by doing the above, pressing ctrl-H or cmd - H on the keyboard and the highlight will be removed, but the text remains selected. Its exactly the same procedure that you use to make the mobile dotted lines disappear just leaving an active selection. Obviously the text tool must be still in use for all this to work with text.

  Figured it out. Replace 'plain text' 'rich text' and have user support on ctr + e. seems strange to me, but it works.

  If it is a button component, you can use the label property to change the text of the label.

  I need someone else to be able to change the text in a pdf file I created from Illustrator. They have full acrobat should be able to change it. I tried myself to test before you send it, but it does not work. The original file has been created in Illustrator CS6 and saved in pdf format (text not created contours). I opened the file in acrobat and try it saved as file extended to be able to change the text but not luck. You will be able to highlight the existing text and replace it. I tried to change the text of the tool, but rather only a selection box around each line of text, it puts a selection box around the text. I can highlight the text and delete it, but I am unable to change it. Each individual text line should be editable. Is there something I need to do differently in Illustrator so it can work correctly in Acrobat?

  This really isn't an appropriate use of Acrobat. You should all use the same editing tool (i.e. Illustrator).

  Extension of files reduced the amount of editing Acrobat can do, it does not increase it.

  The editing of text in Illustrator tool would be to edit the text Document. There is no guarantee that it will divide nicely in lines, it is trying to help by making the text of paragraph.

  In theory, you can use a form for this (fill in the blank for dates) but really, you should use the same tool. Not necessarily Illustrator, more Excel or specialist software calendar.
