  James, if it came with the machine and you are not registered, then you can't get it from the dealer where you purchased the machine. PSE 8 is now end of life and we have limited resources for the same thing, make sure you check the system requirements | Adobe Photoshop Elements if you try to install it on a new machine.

  I bought Photoshop Elements 6 for my mother in 2007. She's FINALLY get around to installing it today and it continues to give an incorrect serial number error.

  So I loaded her top on Team Viewer to make sure that she does everything correctly (it is old) and she was.

  The error screen thought she could retrieve the number of 'my' account or request a new one.

  I've logged into my account Adobe, found the order and re-checked the serial number. It is correct.

  There is no place to apply for a new.

  I hit the button "contact us" below and lost a half hour on chat live only to be told that they can't help and I need to join the forums and ask here.

  I don't want to buy a new version of the product that she will wait eons just to install it again. I'm not closing live enough for her to do it for her.

  How can I get the product to install?

  She was using Windows XP when I bought it for her. She's now 2 new computers with Windows 7 and later.

  OK, as promised, I am here to update the status of this 'problem' my mom has.

  There was nothing wrong at its facility. Before I started to do an uninstall and run as administrator, I put the new registration number and it worked perfectly fine. He went to the registration page asking how I want to the registered product:

  I chose just never and loaded the program without any effort. Why to register again when she already did years ago?

  If you connect to your bank from adobe account, you should be able to recover the serial number if you have saved it. (If you signed up for photoshop.com, it is recorded).
