And when the RAW file does not open yet I downloaded Camera RAW 6.2 plug-in and stuck in the same folder as above. When I could not access the plug-in Photoshop elements 8.0, I tried help-updates to date. I can not even access or open RAW files. How can I solve this problem?

  PSE8 is a 32-bit program.

  You must have downloaded the plug-in for CS5.

  In addition to the upgrade to photoshop cs6 or by subscribing to the creative cloud, you can probably use Adobe's DNG Converter to convert your nikon D600 naves in best dng, which should then open in photoshop cs.

  You must have the 2.4 for DNG camera to work in photoshop cs raw plugin.

  I just upgraded from PE PE 13 12.  System Windows 8.1.

  I have not seen an option to import an image using the editor so I searched in the organizer and found a.  BUT she only has supported WIA for my HP scanner.  And that means limited when scanning options.  With ss12, I had to copy a file to a Plug-ins folder in option to the Plug-ins folder.  I can't find an optional Plug-ins folder in the editor or organizer.  Supports TWAIN disappeared with PE13?  I do a lot of scanning of my work, and additional options with TWAIN are very useful.

  If you have a 64-bit version of windows, there are no more TWAIN in PSE 13, only in the 32-bit version and the mac version.

  I can't understand how to access the Camera Raw plugin for Photoshop elements 11 (on a Macbook Pro OSX.)  I recently installed 11 PES, and when I select "about plug-ins" within the app, it brings up a box shows version 7.1.0.354.  Does this mean that it is already installed?  If so, how can I access to edit a photo? In previous versions of PSE, I simply chose "open file / Camera Raw" but this option doesn't show up.

  Your device is supported, but not in the Elements 9, which is too old.

  But the second link shows that items 9 works with the newer than 6.1.

  So, be upgraded to the current version 14, or at least Elements11,

  Or you use the free solution offered by Adobe in the faq above: the DNGconverter.

  This standalone program (not a plugin) can batch convert all of a folder of your raw files to DNG raw than your Elements 9 can read and modify.

Photographer friends tell me that I need the "Adobe RAW Plugin" to process my RAW files before using Lightroom - but they use Photoshop Lightroom not. As I read the RAW page, it seems that this feature is native in Lightroom and I don't need a separate application? I am able to open my RAW files in Lightroom and treat them. Is there a reason I don't want to use the RAW plugin too? First? Instead? I'm confused.

  This aspect causes a lot of confusion.

  • Lightroom can be used alone to manage, modify / adjust and print / export versions processed photos.
  • LR (in general) can adjust the appearance of a photo, but cannot change the content of a photo.
  • Change the photo, LR so can't do, can be outsourced to another (external) image editing program.
  • Photoshop is an example of an external editor, but there are other alternatives.
  • LR can talk either directly and "classically" a program Editor (first making a standard TIFF file for this to work and reading and then later in some changes were recorded in this)-ACR does not (completely irrelevant for this scenario);
  • OR another scenario is for LR to work with Photoshop in particular, offering few additional working methods (Adobe owner). This option is based on PS and Adobe Camera Raw, being present, in versions that are at least contemporary with LR.
  • When LR detects that this is the case, he adopts as a default method for external mounting.
  • When LR detects that this isn't the case, it greys options - for individual images: Edit in PS as smart object, or for multiple images: Edit in PS as layers / Photomerge / HDR. And he then uses only the direct method, in which ACR is not involved. Photoshop is used then not differently would have another program.
  • ACR is installed automatically with Photoshop and can be upgraded later to the more recent drafts within the PS: only up to a point, within this specific 'generation' of PS.
