Need to check a problem of "Malware" or a "rootkit."

According to the information below it thinks I have a possible problem of 'Malicious software' or 'rootkit'. Can someone please look at my diagnostic report and provide options or thoughts you have?  Thank you for your time!  Robin

Please forgive my ignorance, because I am sure that I am not using the forums properly. I received a response to my first diagnostic report, but I was informed 'work more' would probably be necessary. Now, I submit my 2nd report of Diagonsic below. PLEASE CONTINUE TO HELP IF YOU CAN!

Thank you very much!

Oh dear. :(
My reading of your current report is that there is a very high probability that there is malware (possibly a rootkit) present in the installation.
I suggest that you back up your data on external media and restore your system to a factory State. You must then install all security updates and a competent antivirus and then only start to collect data on the system.
If you want to confirm this, please post in forum Windows Vista answers, here -http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_vista-windows_install?page=1&tab=all
where specialists may be able to help, or provide a better answer.
You will need to provide much more information regarding the recent history of the system, to be able to get a sensible answer.
