Need to free up space on hard drive

I downloaded and installed the 30 day free trial PSE 9, delete the file downloaded which is 1.75 GB.  Thanks in advance

You can delete the uploaded file, but it would be a good idea to

copy it to a dvd before that you remove. In this way, if you ever reinstall

you will not have to download the file again.

  • Free space on hard drive for HP PROBOOK 450 G0 - H0U95EA

    Hello

I'm looking for a laptopo HP, I would like to know the free space on hard drive for HP PROBOOK 450 G0 - H0U95EA.

In the datasheet there are 750GB but in a boutique internet... I found that free space is that of 320 GB, is it good?

    Thank you!

    Marco

More new software installs would more or less 60 gigs and a 750 GB drive reads as on 690 concerts in Windows Explorer. There will be a recovery partition and system partition that could take up to another 20 GB or more. Free space out of the box is still more than 575 casual jobs. That will decrease as games for Windows restore points.

I can read only half of my product key due to wear, but I need to reinstall xp on my hard drive again. How can I get the key?

If you can still boot your old disk, you can use a program such as one of them:

    KeyFinder: <> http://www.magicaljellybean.com/ >
    Belarc Advisor: <> http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html >

to read the key out of your old system.

Also note that if you have a system OEM and the OEM installation disks, the key can be incorporated in the installation discs and can not be necessary when your reinstalling Windows.

  • I need to back up an entire hard drive, XP and all

I replaced a strong record for my neighbor and found myself in a strange position. I need to back up the entire hard drive, so I can replace it with a larger, but cannot start on this disc (when its in my computer) because of a BSOD. I can start in my regular reader (the one I normally use in my computer) and browse the disk I'm trying to backup with no problems. I tried to use Norton Ghost, but when I try to boot from the new drive, I get an error and cannot continue. That I can use that backs up the entire disk, including Windows XP and all the files and allow me to boot from it?

    4ndyC2D,
Microsoft didn't offer not any type of disc for XP Imaging tool.  At this point, you will need to use a 3rd party program to accomplish the task.

Need a (free) compatible with Windows 7 driver for Lexmark Z13

    Hi nikua,

According to the Windows 7 Compatibility Center https://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Details.aspx?type=Hardware&p=Lexmark%20Z13%20Inkjet%20Printer&v=Lexmark&uid=16000&pf=3&pi=0&c=Printers%20%26%20Scanners&sc=Ink-Jet%20Printers&os=32-bit the Lexmark Z13 is 'compatible' with Windows 7 therefore the default drivers should be sufficient.

Of course this model is no longer available for Lexmark won't provide drivers for Windows 7. If you can't get your printer to work then maybe it's time to think about buying a new. • Free space on hard drive shown incorrectly

My drive C (SW_Preload) has about 200 GB of space. When I click on 'Computer' in windows Explorer, it says that the total free space is 20 GB of used space 180 GB IE. However, when I select all folders and files on my C drive and select properties it shows the total size on disk is only 70 GB. I don't have this with the other readers (Lenovo and SERVICEV003).

Does anyone know why this is so? My basket is empty and runnign short space when I know that there is still plenty of space on the drive (the laptop is only 3 months and I copied only 1-2 records this to that).

    Hello Hitchkee,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft answers forums for Windows Vista. I hope you do well.

To reduce the number of unnecessary files on your hard disk to free up disk space and help your computer run faster, you can use disk cleanup. It removes temporary files, empty the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of file system and other items that you no longer need. Follow the link below for more details:

    http://windowshelp.Microsoft.com/Windows/en-us/help/1264bc24-72a8-48AA-84e3-a355327139d91033.mspx

There are a number of issues that contribute to the difference:

Hidden and system files -Windows Explorer display above was using the default settings that do not display the files marked as 'hidden' or 'system', and therefore, they are not included in the calculation. Change this setting increases the "size on disk" by about 7 gigabytes that all the hidden files on my machine have been included in the calculation. In particular, which included the system pagefile and hibernation, which are large file and marked as hidden.

To change the settings, you can follow the steps below:

    Start Windows Explorer, and then:
    Click on the Tools menu
Click the folder menu item Options...
    Click the view tab
In the advanced settings list, scroll down until you see the hidden files and folders and Hide protected operating system files.
Make sure that the hidden files and folders is selected. I also uncheck Hide operating system files - for the same reason protected: I don't want to hide it from me, the Windows files.

Directories - directories, or lists and indexes of files on your machine are not the files themselves, but they don't take place.

The Table of Allocation of file or the master file Table - FAT itself, Hall of Fame of FAT file system, is actually pretty low. The MFT, however, used in NTFS file systems is also stored on the disk but not visible as a file. It defines where the used and free space on a drive is actually. Depending on the size of your drive, your files and the size of the allocation unit, the MFT can be quite large.

The log file - this is a file, but even once, you won't see it. It's NTFS internal data.

    Hope this information is useful.

    Kind regards

    Savan - Microsoft technical support.

  • Satellite L755-154: waste of space of HARD drive due to the second partition

    Hello

I bought this laptop so far everything goes well.
However, there seems to be 2 partitions on it, the first is the C: drive that is around 300 GB, but the 2nd partition D: which is again about 300 GB, which has only the recovery drive?

This seems to be a waste of hard drive space, because I bought it because it had a good-sized hard drive.
Now, my question is that I have to make a record of this partition recovery, and then re - format both drives and install everything from scratch?

Also, the recovery disc has all the drivers for all components of the laptop, as well as Windows 7?
As I bought this form Amazon no windows disk or recovery disk was provided, only the windows 7 serial number.

    Thank you

    > Now, my question is what I need to do a recovery from that partition, then re disc - format both drives and install everything from scratch?

In General, you should always create a recovery disk.
If you have created a recovery disc then this disk will help you set the laptop back to factory settings. This means that all the HARD disk should be formatted and would once again create all partitions. This means that you will get these two partitions again.

If you want to move the free space in partition D to C, then you will need to use a software of partitions. I use GParted its great tool

    > Also the recovery disc has all the drivers for all components of the laptop, and Windows 7
    Yes

    > As I bought this form Amazon no windows disk or recovery disk was provided, only the windows 7 serial number.
See above, that you create this recovery disk!

Download a program like TreeSize Free (http://www.jam-software.com/treesize_free/) to see where the files take up a lot of space.  Be aware that deleting files without knowing what you're doing can cause your system to be unable to restart or cause instability can so be sure you know that you are deleting before you start.  There is no way to extend one hard disk other than to replace it, in which case you need to copy all the files from your old drive to the new.
