need to upgrade to windows 7 (rather annoyed!)

Hi support them

I bought a HP Pavilion 2298sa G6. It's a nice phone with 1 problem, it works on windows 8

I tried to use it for about a week, but am increasingly frustrated with windows 8

(I do not understand how Microsoft let this piece of junk out of the 'gate'. Windows 7 is far superior to windows 8!)

My intention is to install windows 7 on HP laptop...

BUT no driver windows 7 are available in the section on the site of HP support (but they must be available!).

Can you please add the appropriate drivers for your customers may downgrade with ease? or redirect me to a place where I find all the correct drivers?

If I can't downgrade to windows 7, I'm afraid that this laptop will be returned for a full refund, as it is not suitable for use. Too bad the laptop itself is quite nice and a good price!

Best regards & in hopes of a response very fast, like this laptop needs to work for Thursday or he returned.

Jon

I have Windows XP Home Edition SP3, 32-bit and IE8.  Do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?

The upgrade to Windows 7 is a personal decision.  Chances are that if you can do what you need to do on Windows XP then it is 'useless' to upgrade.  If you plan the upgrade anyway, you should first check to see that your hardware is supported under Windows 7.  To do this, Microsoft has provided a program of "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" to run on your current computer.

  • I have a laptop Windows 7 Home Premium, I need to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional.

I have a laptop Windows 7 Home Premium, I need to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. I have the installation DVD for Win7 professional provided by Microsoft Partner Network. If I try Anytime Upgrade it note that I have the license key cannot be used for this purpose. What is the best way to upgrade the laptop?

I would prefer not to have to clean the laptop and do a fresh install.
The interesting thing is, although the upgrade process Express reported a problem when the laptop has rebooted he went through several configuration steps, and she is now a professional Machine of Windows 7.
I looks like that I don't have to take the measures described above.

  • Can I get Windows XP service pack on a disc? I need to upgrade to Windows 7.

Running XP with the service pack. Prepared for Win7 by removing everything and reinstall XP from the original disc. Now impossible to pass with 7 disc because no service packs only. Can I get service packs on a disc?

Has no back up installed Xp (with the packs). Went to the site but cannot access Win Update because no Pack. I need XP on the computer to install 7? (This computer (Vista) is not one that has the problem.

Can't make an update installation of Windows XP to Windows 7.  This requires a straight installation.

To make an update of Windows XP, a peut of update for Vista, and then upgrade to Windows 7.

    BTW, download Windows XP SP1a-onlinehere<= and="" sp3="">ISO here<= or="">. EXE here<=.  One has="" to run="" sp1a="" before="" running="" sp2="" or="" sp3. ="" one="" can="" go="" from="" sp1a="" to="" sp3="">

  • I have Windows Vista Home on my laptop and need to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional. How do you do that?

I have Windows Vista Home on my laptop and need to upgrade to Pro 7. How do you do that? Im not grumpy, so do the kind of dumb-means answer.
So can I do it? How can I do? Thank you!

original title: upgrade to Pro 7 since Vista Home?

You are referring to the Express upgrade. Anytime, upgrade is used to upgrade editions of Windows 7 to a higher edition of price. You cannot use the Express Upgrade updates from Vista to Windows 7.

  • I have Windows Vista Business Edition. What I need to upgrade to Windows 7 Professional or can it be any version of Windows 7?

I currently have vista 32 professional and I want to upgrade to windows 7, I understand that I must use windows 7 Professional

is this correct and just use the regular windows 7 pro upgrade disc?

original title: Vista Business 32 - windows 7

If you want to make a room upgrade, you can use Windows 7 Pro 32-bit - you can buy and use the upgrade version. You can also buy Home Premium, but will need to perform a custom installation.

Then my computer run Windows 7?
Basic system requirements are listed below.  Features have additional requirements.

    • 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x 86) or 64-bit (x 64) processor

    • 1 gigabyte (GB) of RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)

    • 16 GB of disk space available (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)

    • Graphical device DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

Run Windows Upgrade Advisor to see if there are known problems that might affect installation and if you need to install the 32-bit or the 64 bit version of Windows 7.

    Installation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .

Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:

    • Back up any files and settings you want to keep

    • Install Windows 7

    • Reinstall all your files

    • Reinstall all the programs you want to use.

These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.

  • Need to upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows XP to work purposes

Hi, I need help.  I know pretty well how to load the XP and get rid of Windows 7 (I have everything necessary to get back when they upgrade their software).  However, should I reinstall all THE software when I change operating systems? (they don't allow me to have a dual operating system or to use Windows XP mode).  I'm sure that I know the answer to that, but what should I back up my files before installation and uninstallation?  Thank you very much!

The easiest and most logical to do thing is to download and install Windows XP Mode.  This free program allows you to install and use Windows XP compatible software.  It is available if you are using Windows 7 Professional or ultimate edition. Carey Frisch

  • Recently bought a laptop computer; A few questions about the offer Upgrade to Windows 8

I have a few questions about the Upgrade of Windows 8 offer for new computers.  I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S855-S5268 of amazon.com, which came with Windows 7 Home Premium.  Toshiba already has a beta version of drivers and utilities for Windows 8 for the S855 on their Web site.

    (1) I bought my laptop in July of this year, and I've not yet registered for 8 Windows Upgrade offer with Microsoft.  Am I still eligible to receive the upgrade, if I sign up soon?
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?
    (3) if I will be able to burn the installation media, I'll be able to erase my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 8 (which I'd rather do, I have a lot of backups of my data).  I am aware that I would probably need to provide my product key Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM during the new installation, because it is an upgrade and not a full version; This isn't a big deal, because my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM product key is stuck at the bottom of my laptop.
    (4) my current copy of Windows 7 is activated by seeing my BIOS (I have a traditional BIOS, not a UEFI).  If I had to switch to Windows 8 and decide then I'd rather back in Windows 7, for example, a few months later, I'll be able to do that (I burned recovery of Windows 7 with the Toshiba utility disks, which I did), and Windows 7 will continue to activate by seeing my BIOS, even after the installation (and later remove) Windows 8?
    Thank you very much!

Yes, the registration period is between June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013.
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?

Yes, the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8 will allow you to create a bootable DVD or you can grab the ESD file and save it.

Yes and there are better ways to reinstall Windows 8 without using the installation disc, you can use the reset and refresh.

These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

    · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

    · Click change PC settings

    · Click general in the left column

    · Under refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start

Then follow the instructions that will be provided on-screen to cool your PC.

As long as you have a recovery disk which you should create or use the construction in the recovery partition, Yes, it will self activate.

  • Satellite A200 - upgrade to Windows 7 - DVD Player problems weird!

    Hello

I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 rather than replace my A200, which is always good as new after 3 1/2 years...

In typical MS fashion, the upgrade was not incident free, but the main problem is that my DVD drive will no longer read my 2007 Microsoft Office installation disc.

I CAN read the disc I've burned before the upgrade (with files/photos matching on etc.)

Someone at - it ideas? Tried to update the driver and by stopping the service Detection hardware kernel (such as recommended on a forum of MS), but no luck

    Thanks in advance!

    > main problem is that my DVD drive will no longer read my 2007 Microsoft Office installation disc.
A friend of mine had the same problem with the disc of MS Office.
It was not possible to read this disc, but other drives were compatible.
He cleaned the drive laser lens with a hint of alcohol and cotton wool, and it helped.

    Check it!

Also thought I saw in this forum that my machine could run 8 GB of RAM. Please advise on how to migrate successfully to Windows 7 Pro. Thank you.

  • Upgrade to Windows 8

I have Windows XP;  Recently, I have been notified by Pogo.com (including myself) that I need to upgrade to Windows 8 for better service.  I ignored this notification and has not initiated any changes.  However, when I play Pogo now they show that I've upgraded to Windows 8.  I'm sure it will cost me and I don't want to spend that extra in my computer.  Please tell me what I can do to correct this situation?

    Hi, Sherry,

Are you sure it's Windows 8, they say that you have gone to?  Would it maybe Internet Explorer 8?

    Press Alt + H

Select Internet Explorer to see what version you are running (free)

For the Windows Version, right-click on desktop and select Properties

This will tell you your current version of Windows.  Windows 8 is not an automatic download.
