Satellite A200 - upgrade to Windows 7 - DVD Player problems weird!

Hello

I decided to upgrade to Windows 7 rather than replace my A200, which is always good as new after 3 1/2 years...

In typical MS fashion, the upgrade was not incident free, but the main problem is that my DVD drive will no longer read my 2007 Microsoft Office installation disc.

I CAN read the disc I've burned before the upgrade (with files/photos matching on etc.)

Someone at - it ideas? Tried to update the driver and by stopping the service Detection hardware kernel (such as recommended on a forum of MS), but no luck

Thanks in advance!

> main problem is that my DVD drive will no longer read my 2007 Microsoft Office installation disc.
A friend of mine had the same problem with the disc of MS Office.
It was not possible to read this disc, but other drives were compatible.
He cleaned the drive laser lens with a hint of alcohol and cotton wool, and it helped.

Check it!

  • Some keys no longer work on Satellite A200-196 after Windows 7 update

Hi all, I've just upgraded computer laptop of my partner (a Toshiba Satellite A200-196) to Windows 7 after you initially install Windows XP on it (it came with Vista).

After the XP update, I noticed that some keys were not working. I don't remember the process that I used to solve the problem, but the difficulty that I did, and they were all soon works perfectly. So this is a software problem and not material. I think he might have something to do with the FN key - but I can't be sure.

Now, I just upgraded the same machine and I have exactly the same problem. Keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

Can anyone help please? I tried to reinstall Win7 and the problem is still there.

    Thank you very much

    Andy

    > The keys that don't work are Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L.

These keys have nothing to do with the missing software.
Indeed, the function key (FN key) needs a Toshiba utility particular installation / software to make it work, but the keys Backspace, O, P, F, H, K and L are common keys on the keyboard that don t need no special software.

That's why I think that the problem is hardware related: simple keyboard malfunction.
I guess that all of these keys work correctly if you sign in and use the external USB keyboard.

  • How can I watch a movie DVD on my Satellite A200-1HE with Windows XP Home edition?

    Hello

I bought a laptop Satellite A200-1HE and have uninstalled Windows Vista. Now I have installed my own purchased copy of Windows XP and downloaded the drivers from the Toshiba web site. But now I want to use the computer to watch DVD or write CD disks, for example, and I can't find the software that came with the laptop (Intervideo, creator of disc, etc.).

Do I have rights for this software? How do I download and install for FREE, because I just don't want Vista, I want to use XP?
    Thank you

    Wagner R. Landgraf

    > How do I download and install them for FREE, because I just don't want Vista, I want to use XP?

This additional software was shipped only with the image of Toshiba and cannot be downloaded for free! You must understand that there are different copyright restrictions and original Toshiba software (drivers & Utilities) can be downloaded from the Toshiba page.

  • Satellite L - cannot access a Toshiba DVD player

My laptop Satellite Pro L-series came with windows and upgrade to Win 7, which I am now running. I tried to read a disc that I burned on a comptuer spent, but tells me it's the wrong region (huh?) - my region is set to 4. So I gave up on it for the Nuncio and switched to the Toshiba DVD player.
When I try to open it, I get a message that module (s) is / are missing. If the restart does not work, re - install the application.

    How can I do this?
    TIA

    Hi billym,.

Normally, you can download a newer version from the official website of Toshiba DVD player if search you for downloads available for your laptop model:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com

But if you have a DVD with a different region code, you need to change the region code of your CD/DVD drive (Device Manager > properties of the CD/DVD drive).

But don t forget that region code can be changed 4 times

  • Satellite A200 27z does not recognize DVD drive

    Hello

Ive got the computer laptop toshiba Satellite A200 27z & a while a go it wouldn't turn on at all, I took it to a computer repair shop & they seemed to solve the problem, except that they delete all the "stuff" that comes with the laptop.

On the most part, he always does things I want to do. But recently I went to play a dvd in there & it won't work, even if it does not play DVD if theyre sent to me by msn etc.

Normally, when I put a dvd, toshiba dvd player would automatically right away, but now he used. When I go to manually open the dvd player toshiba a message just ups saying:

    * the specific drive is not found. Check the settings by going to settings > stock settings > source. or otherwise check that the disc has been correctly connected to the levels

Ive been in the "action settings", but the source area is blocked (do not type anything in it). I don't know much about computers and so do not know how to check if the drive is properly connected.

It will not also recognize when I put a cd that he either, as normally if I put a cd in and then itunes would automatically load upward, now itunes will not appear if a cd is in the laptop & I can't find it anywhere.

can help someone, I have no idea about these things!

  • Satellite L300 - upgrade to windows 7

I have a toshiba satellite l300-1dn notebook running vista premium.
Upgrade to windows 7, I'm worried about losing part of the toshiba programs installed on my pc.
I wanted to do a clean install on a new drive, but do not want to lose the toshiba dvd creator and dvd ulead movie factory, which came installed as standard.

I want to know if I lose these two programs, if I do a upgrade and clean installation
And if I do, is there anywhere I can download these programs in safe or better yet a way to save training I use now to reinstall them later after the new installation.

82 views and zero answers, thank you...

To answer my own question, I lost the two programs, but found online and re-uploaded disc creator that he, ulead is gone for good.

  • Satellite A200 - need driver for CD/DVD drive

    Hey people.

Recently installed WXP Pro on my laptop A200 PSAEC, so I'm now in dual boot XP and Vista on my laptop.

Problem is that I have all the drivers doesn't work on XP and everything works perfectly, but when I tried to burn a DVD, Nero said the recorder cannot burn DVDs. In 'My Computer', the drive shows up as a DVD - RW drive, but when I insert a blank DVD, it says CD drive. The drive shows up as "TCSDcor" CD/DVGW TC - L6 #2D "" in Device Manager. I searched a driver, but it is impossible to find an exact match for this drive and there is no driver optical drive on this section of driver from the Toshiba site. The only thing I found is an executable file of the firmware upgrade, but it throws an error saying that it is the wrong drive.

    Anyone got any ideas?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

You don't need a new driver for CD/DVD drive because it s a part of the operating system. So, you won't find one.

I think you should try to remove the upper and lower filters in the registry. I did the same thing a few days ago, if I also had problems with my CD/DVD player and it worked for me! :)

  • Compaq 500 b (VS695UT): missing on Windows 10 DVD player

I've had previously upgraded my desktop COMPAQ 500 b Windows 7 Pro computer to Windows 10 (free from Microsoft) and enjoyed.  Sometimes I watch DVD movies on the computer.  Recently, the DVD drive (drive DVD HP, model TS-H653) disappeared from my list of available drives.  I first thought that the drive has died and replaced by a new DVD SATA drive. (I kept the original drive) Needless to say that the new drive is not seen either.  I've checked all my connections cable without change. I did research page to download driver of H - P with no luck.  Any suggestions?

Never mind.  The problem has been resolved.  It was a problem of double.

The original drive has gone wrong, and SATA3 port on the motherboard stopped working.

I plugged in a new DVD player with no change in symptoms (apparently dead).

I felt that it was a new DVD player, so I plugged on another SATA port on my motherboard, and the computer she recognized immediately.

Then, I placed the reader to original DVD in the computer, packaged for the replacement, buttoned-up DVD player my computer and got back to work, only to find that the computer no longer recognizes the DVD player again.

I knew I had to see that it works, so I had to shut down the computer and replace the original DVD drive (AGAIN).  This time; I left the case open until I have confirmed that the new drive worked, and the original SATA3 port on the motherboard was actually dead.

End result is a bad DVD player and a bad port SATA3 on the motherboard.

  • Satellite A200 PSAF0A - cannot use the DVD writer / reader more

    Hello
Anyone has any advice on this?

    Laptop: Satellite A200, PSAF0A
Require: DVD burner / player sofware.

My hard drive died last week, so a techno guy installed a new and reinstalled the OS (Vista)... everything works fine. But don't have Toshiba Utilities for the use of the DVD burner / player more. Where is it? I downloaded the player to DVD from Toshiba, but it does not work. It doesn't do anything. Media player plays sound but no video.

The software that I used to play DVDs accompanying the package when I bought it; InterVideo WinDVD I remember well.
I downloadeded V 8, but it does not work either. I need Codecs etc, right?

Looked at Toshiba Europe site for the DVD player, but I think it's the same DVD s/w that I have already downloaded.
But there is no download of my model, PSAF0A (Satellite A200) in all cases.

I do not have the CD - they are comfortable in another country! (Unless, of course, my nephew is using them as a frisbee that could well be the case). Help!

It seems that Toshiba do not publish the DVD software on the site... maybe its due to the issues of the region / license?

Try AVS DVD Player (its free).
If you need a MPEG2 codec, install ffdshow

    The two are in http://www.free-codecs.com

  • Satellite U205 - DVD Player problems

I bought a Satellite U205-S5057 year last with Vista on it. For the first month, all video files burn very well. After that, I downloaded all kinds of codecs and trial versions of DVD burning software just got keep burning DVDs.

After all downloads, of course, they began to come into conflict. I ran a system recovery and hoped that it would be clean all conflicts. I put some videos on a CD - rw and transferred to my book burning. When I clicked on the D: / he said "D: / no request." Then I re-installed Realplayer on the internet and now it burns in Realplayer 1 out of every 10 tent or if.

Anyone know why I have so many problems with my CD/DVD drive? In addition, he always says D: / is a DVD player, even when I put a CD. Is this good?

    Hello

Have you tried to remove the top and bottom of the registry entry filters?
    Not? OK, try this:

First remove the CD/DVD drive device manager.
Then, completely remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters from the following registry key values:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Finally, restart the computer, and restart the system.
The Windows operating system should recognize the drive and it needs to be reinstalled again.

  • Satellite A60 DVD Player problems

    Hello
I have a Satellite A60 (18mths old now) - when I 1st got it the DVD burner was DOA - so I sent off the coast and he had replaced.
It has worked well since then until recently when the DVD player just wouldn't recognize anything - CD or DVD

Tried everything with this unit - but at the end of the day understood the drive was gone.

Another bought a (SD-R6252) and lo-and-this is the same thing happens.

Each diagnosis that I run says the drive is OK - but there is no disk in it.
I reinstalled windows from the recovery factory - discs
    Update the BIOS
Tried to update the firmware of the drive-, but the update said that this was not necessary.

Tried with Nero, Windows, InterVideo - nothing.

As it is now a working machine that I can't afford 3 months back in time to send it off and watched it (that's how long it took the last time) and my nearest dealer of Toshiba is in place at the other end of the country.

Suggestions for things that I can try out would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

The new drive can read CDs but can not burn anything. Am I wrong?
Or the drive cannot recognize the media that in the Windows operating system?
You said that you have reinstalled the widows. In this case, you used the drive.

Try to remove the drive from Device Manager. Restart the unit. Now check if you can use CDs and DVDs

  • Satellite M300 - DVD player problem

    Hello

I have a M300 Satellite and when I insert a DVD to watch the DVD turns and hums, but the disc is not read. The reader stays like that and when I try to eject the disc there is no answer to any computer.

When I try to eject by windows media player, it says the drive is busy, but still nothing happens.
The drive continues to run and hum loudly without reading the disk and the only way to stop the rotation of the disc and eject the DVD is to restart the computer during an ejection charge upward until the computer tries to read the disc again.

I'm only a novice to the laptop any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Also, the computer was purchased in Australia and I currently live in Germany

    Please answer in English
