Nested vs Application Module Module Application root

I have a popup that is used to create a new address / location container city, State, address line 1, line 2 address etc. I want to create this reusable component. I created an app for this Module with the name "LocationService".
I created all of the links on this page. Now, I want to use this in the context of other use cases that have their own services. Should I now nest LocationService inside each service where I can use it, or there is another way to do this.

If I want to commit to the time when I save stuff together. Then, what is the best way to keep the possibility of re-use and other things.

In this case, the popup taskflow requires existing transaction value
On the appellant/flow page, simply use the AM root rather than nested...

  • Instantiate a nested programmatically application module

    Hi, is - it possible to instantiate one module application nested programmatically by using the Configuration class or any other class?

    The Configuration API refers only to the application root module.

    The nested function has a cohesion strong and is loose, coupled with the root application module and I want to use it in a stand-alone client.

    Any comments will be useful,

    Call createApplicationModule() on the root of your AM. This will create a nested within the root AM AM.

  • Cannot access module app root in a nested

    I use Jdeveloper 11 g R2 (11.1.2.3) & Weblogic 10.3.5.0

    I have a root application module and a few nested application nested under the root one in my ADF application modules
    I have a few common methods under the application module root Impl class and try to access in the nested Impl classes
    like this (this code is in the nestedAppModuleImpl class):

    Root RootAppModuleImpl = (RootAppModuleImpl) someViewObject.getDBTransaction () .getRootApplicationModule ();
    root.doSomething ();

    When I run the above code, this exception is thrown:

    oracle.jbo.server.ApplicationModuleImpl cannot be cast to mypackage. RootAppModuleImpl

    Any comment or workaround?
    What is the solution?

    Concerning
    Mohsen

    Mohsen, there is something terribly wrong with your code.

     //(This code is in nestedAppModuleImpl class):

    RootAppModuleImpl root = (RootAppModuleImpl)someViewObject.getDBTransaction().getRootApplicationModule();
    root.doSomething();

    is not supposed. DoSomething() returns really a RootAppModuleImpl? You can access the root of the module application embedded by request module

    RootAppModuleImpl root = (RootAppModuleImpl)getRootApplicationModule();

    If you get a class cast exception, this means that there is something wrong with your RooAppModuleImpl. Extend ApplicationModuleImpl? If so, the cast should be possible.
    Is root of the RootAppModuleImpl type request module? then only you can access common methods after obtaining the application root module.

    the following method

    private ViewObject getAccountExistsView(DBTransaction t) {
    ApplicationModule root = t.getRootApplicationModule();
    ViewObject vo = root.findViewObject("MemberExistsView");
    if (vo == null) {
    vo = root.createViewObject("MemberExistsView","model.MemberExistsView");
    }
    return vo;
    }

    not make sense to me. Where is this method? in the RootAppModuleImpl? If so, why do you call getRootApplicationModule? You are in the application root Module. I can "commentary on the createViewObject, you call, but my feeling is that you don't need either. The view that you create must exist already if your application module are configured correctly.

    And you are right, you should not call createRootApplicationModule if it is not needed. In your case, what it is not!

    Yes, the pl in Nested SQL will use the root database transaction. You will have no problems.

  • JUnit test of an ADF application when you have nested application modules

    Hello

    When you set up a device for JUnit test in the model of the ADF, and you have nested application modules, there are advised to have a class of the device for each module of the application, or create a luminaire of class for the root application module and access somehow nested those there for view objects you want to test JUnit , or have a luminaire of class and somehow reference the individual nested application of this class modules? Everything I've read about JUnit test of an ADF application only shows an application module in the template project.

    Thank you.

    I have used with success that one category of luminaire for my application module root, and then in my test case files I can reference the application embedded this suff module.

    Example:

    The TestAMFixture.java file is where you describe the application module you want to use. This file and others, is what is generated when you let JDeveloper create your Business Component Test Suite (chosen from the New Gallery):

    The constructor of this file is where the application module is defined:

    public TestAMFixture() {}

    _testAm = Configuration.createRootApplicationModule (amDef, Config);

    }

    In my test for the projectVO scenario file, I'm testing a required attribute in a display object, so I need to access the view object that is in a nested application module:

    ViewObject _projectVO = fixture1.getApplicationModule () .findViewObject ("ProjectAM1.ProjectVO1");

    fixture1 is a reference to the TestAMFixture class. getApplicationModule() is a method in this class that returns the application root module I set in the TestAMFixture constructor. ProjectAM1 is the nested application module and ProjectVO1 is the view object where the attribute is that I will test.

    For a better explanation, please see these references, I used.

  • How to commit only Nested Application Module?

    Hi all

    Is there a way to validate the nested only App Module?

    Lets say, I have a user interface that contains an editable table or form (VO-base) that is an instance of the AM root.

    At the click of a button, I want to get the user interface changes and write logic to validate the Nested AM view object (which does not appear on the user interface) without committing the root of AOS display objects. Is it achievable?

    Thank you
    SAIF.

    No, only the application root module manages the transaction.  Only thing you can do is to use a second application of root for the nested module and use this.

  • Nested transaction management Application module

    Hello
    I use Jdev 11.1.2.0

    I have the nested Application Module. In I want to separate view data object must be committed without validation of the object root application module view.
    Is this possible. Kindly answer me.

    No, the application root module controls the transaction of all necessary application modules. A validation will be commit all the changes together. You must use different modules of the application root for this.

  • ADF BC application pool datasource connection settings

    Hello

    I have an ADF (ADF BC, with ADF Faces) web application. Currently I'm trying to set up the module and the data source connection for the application pool.

    I would like to know if my tuning are correct. Is it normal connection of database pool values are enormous for the purposes of the ADF?

    Looking forward to your suggestions and comments

    Thank you

    Here are the details

    No application Module = 34
    No of simultaneous user = 50

    Retail config AM
    ---------------------

    Initial pool 10
    Maximum pool size 60
    Referenced pool 50 size
    pooling of the activated application module

    For the database connection
    --------------------------------
    Initial capacity 34 * 50 = 1700
    Max 2500 capacity

    Initials

    34 application root modules is about 32 or 33 too.

    But, Yes, if you have the roots AM 34 and 50 concurrent users, then your pool should be at 1 700

    However, in all seriousness, this is way too many roots AMs. If they are 1 root and 33 nested AMs, then it's OK, and you need only your pool to 50.

  • How to access a nested h AM roots

    Hello

    I have a Module of Application root, and 2 nested Apllication Modules:

    RootAM
    | _NestedAM1
    | _NestedAM2

    In a view object executeQuery() method, published on NestedAM1, I want to call a public method published in NestedAM2.

    I try to do something like this:
        @Override
        public void executeQuery() {
            BasicApplicationModuleImpl rootAm = (BasicApplicationModuleImpl)this.getRootApplicationModule();
            NestedAM2Impl nestedAm2 = (NestedAM2Impl)rootAm.findApplicationModule("NestedAM2");

            String lanCode = (String)nestedAm2.myMethod();
            this.setutiLanCode_BV(lanCode);

            super.executeQuery();
        }
    But 'this.getRootApplicationModule ()' give me NestedAM1 and not RootAM. So I don't know how to access the NestedAM2 application module.

    Do you know how I can do this?

    Thank you.

    First of all, a few comments:

    (1) you are defeating the spirit of the AMs nested If VO in a nested AM depends on something in a root AM
    (2) even worse, you are really defeating the spirit of the nested AMs if VO in a nested AM depends on something in a nested siblings AM
    (3) you are beating the separation of concerns if VO is based on a method in an AM at all

    So, I'd be looking to change my approach, if I were you.

    That said, I did it in 11.1.2.2 (you don't mention a version, then I went at latest).

    (1) created a simple VO based on "select user to twice.
    (2) overrode executeQueryForCollection as follows:

      protected void executeQueryForCollection(Object object, Object[] object2, int i)
      {
        ApplicationModuleImpl i1 = this.getRootApplicationModule();
        ApplicationModuleImpl i2 = i1.getRootApplicationModule();

        _LOG.severe(i1.getName());
        _LOG.severe(i2.getName());
        super.executeQueryForCollection(object, object2, i);
      }

    (3) created an AM called "IAmNested" and added the VO above to the data model
    (4) created an AM called "IAmRoot" and added to the data model IAmNested
    (5) ran the IAmRoot AM (also tested with a JSF page)
    (6) a noted two messages in the window of the newspaper, who were both "SEVERE: IAmRoot.

    So, in short, I don't see the behavior you report. Maybe you are actually using AOS nested root AM in this case?

  • Access the current instance of request module in a java class in the model

    Hi all
    I'm trying to implement the custom story types in our application, (ModifiedById), I can read the user name of the security context, but not the username.
    I have a view object, say UserInfoVO which contains the logged in users info.
    I know, I can create a new instance of the application at the bean module and using security context information, I can go get the user ID.
                ApplicationModule am =
                      Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(amDef, config);
                    ViewObject vo = am.findViewObject("UserInfoVO1"); // view criteria applied by default
                    vo.setNamedWhereClauseParam("bUserName", user); // user from security context
                    vo.executeQuery();
    I'm trying to access the current instance of the Application module in my java class customized, that is used to return the attribute history ModifiedById.
    //referring the blog

    http://jobinesh.blogspot.in/2011/02/creating-custom-history-types.html
    It is, how do I access the current instance of ApplicationModule in a class as * "HistoryAwareEntityImpl" * located in project template. ?

    any help will be appreciated.

    Kind regards
    Rognard

    OK, in this case, you get the transaction of db of the base class object and this object allows you to search the module of the application

    public final DBTransaction getDBTransaction();
    ...
    DBTransaction:
    public ApplicationModule findApplicationModule(java.lang.String amName)

    or if you get the application root module

    public ApplicationModule getRootApplicationModule()

  • How to add jsession ID to an ADF web application deployed in weblogic server?

    Hello

    I use jdeveloper 11.1.2.4 version. Can anyone tell please how to add custom JSESSIONID (BLTSESSIONID) to the URL of the web application ADF that must be deployed in weblogic server. I tried the following approach. but it did not work for me.

    in webogic.xml, I added

    < session descriptor - >

    < name > BLTSESSIONID < / cookie-name >

    < / session descriptor >

    However, I've added the weblogic.xml manually from the gallery.

    Could someone help me on this please?

    Thank you

    You don't have to add the session ID to the URL. The Web application automatically manages session IDS. By default, it uses an HTTP cookie (a cookie with name JSESSIONID) therefor. The Web application will automatically add it to the URL only if it detects that the client browser does not support cookies (for example, if the user has disabled cookies in the browser). By adding the lines above to weblogic.xml you just changed the name of cookie JSESSIONID to BLTSESSIONID default session. This is useful only if you have access to a couple of different Web applications from one and the same server and you want every application to maintain a clean session (for example, each application having a different session cookie name). If all applications on the server use one and same name cookie (JSESSIONID for example) and you have access to more than one application at the same time in one and the same browser (and even multiple instances of the browser, with the exception of some special cases), you will not be able to work with these applications correctly because the next access to another application will replace the cookie and you will lose the session to the requests earlier. Because HTTP cookies are maintained at the level of server name, it's not at the level of application root. In this case, you must specify the application names specific cookie (what you did above).

  • Use a variable to an Application.cfm file in another?

    Hey,.

    I have an Application.cfm file in the root of my site and another in a subdirectory. I have a few variables global application I need to put in the file application root and use throughout my site. I can't do a cfinclude of the root application file because I don't need all that is in it and if I included the whole of the file, is to provoke errors. Is there anyway to 'understand' as part of an application file?

    Thank you!
    Holli

    Dear Wolli

    I will propose to create a file and you called something line Global.cfm and in this file, you must include all of the golbal variables where you usually share between different applications, then you use the include or import tags to include in an application or page you want. In addition, you can create a cfc file and it containse many functions and each function will create a set of variables and then in each application you call and trigger the function of desire.

    Good luck
