NET gradient transparency of RGB to CMYK for print

Downloaded a file from RGB gradient mesh. Did not sting lines will appear after the flattening of transparencies and conversion to CMYK also changed the subject. The main thing that changes are the strong points of the object then I manually changed those until I managed to do it look they way had to be (basically add extra lines on the mesh and using white spot on the high brightness and opacity 0 on the edges to have a more natural mix). Then, I tried to dish/pixelation/opening in photoshop - flatten - save as JPEG and nothing worked as when I print (with Roland VS540) it does not come out as it should. Help, please!

Do not use the JPEG to CMYK, which was only intended for RGB. Try to save as format .psd.

This will synchronize the creative suite settings, as I see that you have customized.

  • Conversion from RGB to CMYK for print causes darkening and loss of detail on the page.

I work in CS5 to create figures in a very wide range of colors. I use filters and adjustment layers to achieve the desired effects, so my images are degraded and high contrast design. I usually only work for the web, so I've never had need to convert my images in a CMYK working space. I started to make prints of some of my work, and I noticed I lose not only in detail, but dynamism as well. A lot of the darker areas are together burrs, and some of the areas of light contrasted against dark look less intelligible than when I created it on the screen.

My first attempt at printing has been at a Staples, that could be part of the problem. I had saved in CMYK TIFF and JPEG files. TIFF files looked terrible, but the JPEG has a little more clarity in printing. One of my TIFF files displayed on the computer of Staples like being completely tense and in grayscale, although it was happening on my own camera.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, because I'm trying to learn everything I can about this topic. Thank you!

Don't not bither with CMYK for any shape so "home printing". Their printers work no any different from your own inkjet and exoect images come directly from digital cameras, etc. And are calibrated accordingly. Otherwise, you have a lot of reading to do on color, color grading, etc. of the range management.

  • Converting Images to CMYK for Print Publication

When in my workflow should I be converting images to CMYK for print publication?

Currently, I shoot FIRST pictures with my SLR in Adobe RGB, import images into Photoshop for manipulating and then convert the final image, the size to CMYK before placing it in my Indesign document. Before you go to print, I convert my PDF files using the [PDF / X - 1a: 2001] preset. I use a system that is balanced with a profile for my monitor.

As many of my photos have shades of green, I am often disappointed by the conversion to CMYK because lose I the saturation and brightness. I'm doing something wrong? Is there a better way to preserve the quality of the color in my images when you go to a printer?

    Never. Leave it as RGB.

All modern printers should happily accept RGB images. PDF/X-4 is the modern

standard. X-1a can be described as archaic.

  • How can I convert images RGB to CMYK for PACKAGING - InDesign CC?

I understand that everyone can be exported as pdf CMYK - but I am sharing a project with another designer and she needs to get all her files - many of whom are RGB - need them CMYK.  Thank you!

You can not convert the links during the packaging color mode - and you don't need to, probably. Why do you have CMYK? Unless you know the correct output space now and not re - purpose provide the file in the future (and even if these things are true and you don't need to Validating adjustments of the conversion to color) there is no advantage and disadvantage, to be converted to CMYK before export.

  • Need CMYK for printer... but the msg «document uses space mix CMYK...» "concerning

    Hi all

I need to create PDF output which is the printer CMYK.

I thought I did everything correctly until I got this message that was generated when I chose to export (in PDF format), "the document uses space CMYK. Are converted to RGB in interactive PDF files. To avoid color variations, click Cancel and choose Document RGB in the Edit > menu of the space of merger of transparencies. Click OK to continue. »

So, I think it means that the PDF export is saved in a RGB color space. Is this a correct interpretation? If so, how do I preserve the CMYK color space because it is what needs the printer? Is it still possible or relevant?

    Thank you10-04-2014 1-46-37 PM-InDesign-color_space.png

You shouldn't make an interactive PDF for the printer. Choose export and edit drop-down list type to PDF (Print) or use file > Adobe PDF presets > and choose your preset from the list.

  • Non-CMYK for printing color separation

    Hello
This is one of my first posts here - I hope that I do not too bad.

I checked a few threads here, looking for prospects and has already made a few discoveries but my question remains.

I have done a few trials with a Ricoh printer and am struggling a bit with the reproduction of photographs. The printer, I work with prints a color at the time: Blue (nearby), yellow (very similar to the yellow treatment), rather dark green red (close to Pantone 032), bright and black.
So far I've used the CMYK color separation (and rather rough halftone), substitute blue and magenta red cyan, but the pictures come out, logically enough, more orange than they should be.

So my question is: you know a way to divide an image into a given set of colors? (here, I guess it would be blue, red, yellow, and the black with the fact that I can print)

Please let me know if you have any ideas!
    Thank you

  • Is it necessary to convert RGB to CMYK photos if you simply print at home?

I am new to the creative suite, and I use InDesign for a class presentation. I was told I should convert photoshop images I use RGB to CMYK for printing, but I'm just to the printing house on my little deskjet.

Second question: if it IS necessary, why make an alert in photoshop by saying 'you are about to convert to CMYK using the "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2" profile. This can ve not what you intend. "What do that mean and do I just ignore it?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

The advice you got was specifically for sending from a project to a CMYK printing press. Conversion to CMYK was the traditional requirement of these tasks, since the days when most of the images were printed and more printed images went to a CMYK press.

But it has been several years that it was true. Some InDesign workflow can use RGB images if configure you InDesign to convert to CMYK output, or if the digital press will do the conversion. Many House digital printers and newer digital printers are set up to work with RGB images. For example, you do not send CMYK images to the laboratory have printed enlargements and photo books made, you send RGB. As far as your inkjet home goes, it uses different colors as U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) CMYK (some printers use six inks or more), so conversion to CMYK is not even properly correspond with the inks used.

This is the reason why you see the alert message. It is no longer a world where convert you all images to CMYK for print, if Photoshop is to make sure that it is something you really need to do. Because if you convert to CMYK when you do not need, your images will look worse because CMYK does not provide the number of RGB colors.

  • RGB to CMYK conversion in artificial intelligence

Hi, my printing says a RGB file I sent him, and he needs to CMYK for printing.

    (1) how can I know that the original file is RGB color mode?

    (2) how to convert file have RGB CMYK AI file?

    Thank you very much!!!

    lhcheng,

    (1) file > Document Color Mode.

    (2) tick CMYK instead of RGB.

You should be aware that the colors RGB and CMYK are fundamentally different, so more likely, you will need to create at least a few colors again, and you have to accept some inevitable changes.

Many RGB colors will be changed to CMYK rather muddy and messy, as you can see in the color palette when you select CMYK.

And a lot of bright colors will become less.

  • Pro RGB to CMYK photo

Can you please recommend the best way to convert 16-bit files Pro Photo RGB CMYK for printing prepress?

I shot images for a Web site and print.  They want the images in a catalog and now I need to convert them also.

I thank very you much for your valuable contribution.  I want to do it right the first time.

    Beth

    Beth,

Everything above is correct, but... where it is going to be printed? What you have to offer? A pdf file, an Indesign? Is your monitor calibated? If this is not the case, how do you know if the colors are ok? As Peter pointed out, you know the profile that the printer will use?

My best guess is, convert it to a 'standard' (in Europe, we have the standard "iso" for coated or uncoated stock) CMYK profile in photoshop and make a "standard" CMYK pdf Send this pdf to the printer and ask for proof of color on paper, digital without evidence).

Once you have, you can refine your picture converted to match your level.

    Good luck, gert

You will also need to convert it to CMYK for printing... ?

Image > Mode > CMYK color

CMYK conversion is needed to offset printing. Inkjet printers expect RGB data. If the fed CMYK, they will convert just right back to RGB.

And do not use the picture Mode. Convert to profile to use, once you have given the right CMYK printer profile.

Despite this, the photos most commonly presented as RGB these days, the final conversion is prepress.

  • I want to create a new document in Illustrator that I can use for Print and Web - using 2 different colourspaces.

Is it possible to do?  I need to create a document so that I can export under a high quality CMYK to print and export the same file in RGB jpeg / pdf for web and e-mail use.  What I do need to create the document with 2 different colourspaces, or can I edit / convert the colourspace after that I created and finished the document?  or is it possible simply to select a RGB / CMYK option during export record?

    looking forward to your response!

    Tom

    Tom,

The best way is to creat and finish the document CMYK for printing, and then save a copy (or avoid something similar and safe save them on the original of the document CMYK) and turn that into a separate RGB for the web and other document.

  • is the driver for win 8 for the printer photosmart D7360 RGB or CMYK?

    Hello

I'll use Lightroom 4.2 (under win 8 64) and will have calibrated the monitor and the printer (HP Photosmart D7360) by colormunki photo.

When the printer profile is generated by colormunki, according to the real printer driver, they will be RGB or CMYK profile.  Apparently, 4.2 LR will only show printer profiles to use if the printer driver is of type RGB.  So if it's CMYK, I would not be able to use the printing profile in LR.

Is someone can you please tell me if this printer driver is RGB or CMYK?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards

The pilot waiting for RGB data.  The real color in the printer inks use CMYK, but managed by the driver, applications need to send RGB data to the driver.

  • For printing, must I work in RGB or CMYK?

I inherited a file which is defined by default black in RGB. In the preparation of the document, its intention is set up to print. How can I change the mode from RGB to CMYK color? I already tried to convert profiles and assigning profiles. I use InDesign CC2015.

Create a new print document with the same basic grid settings and the same size of document with page 2.

Drag all the pages from one to the other document.

    Remove the first 2 pages.

Blend modes appear different in different color spaces, because they are not affected by the color management, but the biggest change is in gradients. If the work uses one or more gradients just redo them in the space of CMYK color and you should be fine. For the best possible match in order to use the color management you must first select all and rasterize the image to output ppi resolution. Then when converting to CMYK only out-of-range colors as appropriate, will change your appearance.
