RGB to CMYK conversion in artificial intelligence

Hi, my printing says a RGB file I sent him, and he needs to CMYK for printing.

(1) how can I know that the original file is RGB color mode?

(2) how to convert file have RGB CMYK AI file?

Thank you very much!!!

lhcheng,

(1) file > Document Color Mode.

(2) tick CMYK instead of RGB.

You should be aware that the colors RGB and CMYK are fundamentally different, so more likely, you will need to create at least a few colors again, and you have to accept some inevitable changes.

Many RGB colors will be changed to CMYK rather muddy and messy, as you can see in the color palette when you select CMYK.

And a lot of bright colors will become less.

If I have only the pantone color, find the CMYK in artificial intelligence?

Double click on the sample, and you should see the CMYK values for this ink.

If you want to convert this to print in CMYK, there are 2 settings to change

    • Book in CMYK
    • Spot to process

You will notice the icon change in the color chart to show that this color is so more spot but CMYK.

There is now no exact value of CMYK to PMS colors. Adobe and Pantone changed their CMYK values over the years. While most of the CMYK matches are close, some are significantly different because you have only 4 inks trying to simulate the pantone together library, and a fluorescent or metallic PMS color for example would be very far. More muddy PMS colours usually have a close game, but especially those most dynamic have a close game.

  • Choice of profiles for RGB forced to CMYK conversion

When a mixed RGB/CMYK PDF is opened in Illustrator CS6, Illustrator requires a conversion to a color space or another. See this screenshot: http://imgur.com/sK8iEdn

I guess this is a limitation of the Illustrator and there is no way to keep the two color spaces. Under this assumption, is it possible to choose the profiles used for the conversion of RGB to CMYK? Illustrator is possible to use the RGB and CMYK profiles defined in its color settings to do this conversion?

I did some experiments with Illustrator CS6 and target RGB of MacBeth and checked my results with Photoshop CS6. I discovered that (especially) illustrator doing what he should do, within an error of 1% (probably rounded) on the output CMYK values. Here is a summary, in case anyone else needs this info:

Assuming that the elements of the source file are all not marked, when a mixed RGB/CMYK PDF is open in CMYK mode and Illustrator is

chosen, Illustrator uses the profiles and defined in rendering mode

Color settings to make conversions from RGB to CMYK color. Thus, we

have control over the profiles used for this conversion.

If the RGB elements in the PDF file have embedded ICC profiles,

Illustrator uses the ICC profile embedded instead of the RGB profile

defined in the color settings. That happens, however, if the PDF file

also includes the correct intention to output CMYK profile.

If the PDF file does not contain an output CMYK mode, Illustrator will fall

back on the color settings RGB RGB-> CMYK conversion profile. I think that it

would be more correct for Illustrator use the embedded profile of RGB and

the CMYK profile defined in the color settings, but this is not how it seems to work.

If the PDF file contains incorrect output CMYK mode, Illustrator will be

ignore the color settings and follow the embedded profiles, RGB and CMYK

for the conversion, as can be expected.

  • Convert RGB to CMYK and RGB image

    Hey.

I wonder if anyone has any experience with conversion of RGB to CMYK and RGB image?

I had a TIF in RGB, then convert to CMYK, but I thought it would be best to keep in RGB, so I converted. I read that he meant to cause losses in the data, but I don't see anything in the image, it's always very huge and 2 RGB files has the same size as well. Is there a way to compare the resolution of 2 images somehow, or how I can see what I've lost through 2 conversions?

    Thanks for help

Data loss, you refer relates to the compromise made when appearing in RGB colors fall outside the range of available colors printing inks. In such a case, substitutions are made in the conversion of RGB to CMYK based on your choice of the Conversion Option > intent found in Edit > color settings. The good news is that if you don't see a color change when you switch from RGB to CMYK and vice versa, this means that none of the colors in RGB mode are outside of the range of CMYK ink. I suggest that intention more appropriate for the mode switches such as the one you mentioned Relative Colorimetry is the choice more practical.

When RGB, clicking Cmd + there will show a color change if the colors are outside the range of ink. Another signal is an exclamation point beside the CMYK numbers in the info panel. To see which areas of the image are affected by the limitation of printing ink, choose View > Gamut Warning.

  • Trying to modify a file exported sigmaplot .eps and text is not incorporated. Is there a way to incorporate artificial intelligence, or should happen in sigmaplot?

    Hi all.

First assignment in time. I have 9 + graphics that are exported from sigma plot as .eps files. I am changing all of them in artificial intelligence to conform to the style rules of scientific journals. It seems that the .eps files have not incorporated and so all the words and the numbers come out in the form of vectors and therefore cannot be easily changed in artificial intelligence. I tried to use the pdf files exported from sigmaplot and for whatever Reason didn't let modify me them at all. My question is, is there an easy way (post export of sigmaplot) to get AI to recognize text as text? Or, is it something that needs to be done in sigmaplot before exporting?

    Very much appreciated.

I just talked to another author, and what you want is in the lower right of the dialog box options export of Sigmaplot. Check the box to make the conversion of PostScript fonts instead of convert text to curves.

  • RGB to CMYK becomes brown white

    Hi guys

In previous versions - changing from RGB to CMYK, or vice versa would change the colors a bit, but ever since CC when I change one to another my white

Brown and there is a yellow tone to the image.

Everyone does experience - it is not light either see image. I haven't settled something - the original CMYK is on the left and

When I do RGB - it goes Brown.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Thanks, I thought about it, well not really, I just changed things up haha it worked.

In my frame of color, everything was OK, but in the Conversion Options, the intention was defined on colorimetric Relative instead of perception,

Once I changed that everything worked perfectly.

A lot of trial and error and I don't know why this setting was different, but thanks for you help with this.

  • Is it necessary to convert RGB to CMYK photos if you simply print at home?

I am new to the creative suite, and I use InDesign for a class presentation. I was told I should convert photoshop images I use RGB to CMYK for printing, but I'm just to the printing house on my little deskjet.

Second question: if it IS necessary, why make an alert in photoshop by saying 'you are about to convert to CMYK using the "U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2" profile. This can ve not what you intend. "What do that mean and do I just ignore it?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!

The advice you got was specifically for sending from a project to a CMYK printing press. Conversion to CMYK was the traditional requirement of these tasks, since the days when most of the images were printed and more printed images went to a CMYK press.

But it has been several years that it was true. Some InDesign workflow can use RGB images if configure you InDesign to convert to CMYK output, or if the digital press will do the conversion. Many House digital printers and newer digital printers are set up to work with RGB images. For example, you do not send CMYK images to the laboratory have printed enlargements and photo books made, you send RGB. As far as your inkjet home goes, it uses different colors as U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) CMYK (some printers use six inks or more), so conversion to CMYK is not even properly correspond with the inks used.

This is the reason why you see the alert message. It is no longer a world where convert you all images to CMYK for print, if Photoshop is to make sure that it is something you really need to do. Because if you convert to CMYK when you do not need, your images will look worse because CMYK does not provide the number of RGB colors.

  • How to convert RGB to CMYK images in batches

    Hello

Can someone explain in a way step by step how to convert RGB to CMYK images batch?

    Thanks in advance

If you do not want to use Photoshop for the conversion of bact there are several ways, including lots and Image Procesor under the file > controller or file > Scripts of PS.

However, my preference is to use the script from Russell Brown: Image Processor Pro, via the bridge:

    http://www.russellbrown.com/scripts.html

Like other similar is transformative image:

    http://www.scriptsrus.TalkTalk.NET/

Both allow you to make several conversions simultaneously, different sizes and file types and actions running before or after conversion.

  • CMYK CMYK conversion Dmax caveat

Has detected an error in the way that Photoshop converts a CMYK profile for another CMYK profile...

During the conversion of RGB or CMYK LAB, photoshop will follow the parameters Dmax of the CMYK profile that you convert.  However, if you convert from a file of CMYK with a high Dmax to another with a low Dmax CMYK profile, your new file will NOT lower Dmax.

For example, if I have a file of CMYK with a Dmax 340 convert a CMYK with a Dmax 300 profile, colors are moving but the new file will have a Dmax of 340, NOT 300.

The only solution for this is to convert to CMYK in the LABORATORY, then return to your new CMYK profile.  Photoshop will use the correct settings of Dmax.

I know that you should not convert from CMYK to CMYK, etc.  But sometimes it is not avoidable for various reasons of workflow.  And I understand why photoshop is unable to convert the new Dmax when CMYK CMYK, you go.  But I think that it is a critical question color that photoshop should you warn that to get a good Dmax, you can't go from CMYK to CMYK.

It seems that anyone who works with CMYK should be extremely concerned Dmax, so for Photoshop to do not warn you of this problem is to invite serious problems of color which cannot be intercepted, until you go support on... which is a very stressful time to make these discoveries.

    Thank you!!!

Again, if you do a conversion, the dmax has to CHANGE to match the destination profile.

If you assign the new profile, then the color will change, but the values (and dmax) will remain the same.

If you converted in the new profile, to any other profile, then the dmax would according to the destination profile - there no choice, because there is no value in the destination profile who do not have the dmax of the destination profile.

Again, it really sounds like you are not making CMYK-> CMYK conversion, but just naming the destination profile (and do not change the values).

  • is the driver for win 8 for the printer photosmart D7360 RGB or CMYK?

    Hello

I'll use Lightroom 4.2 (under win 8 64) and will have calibrated the monitor and the printer (HP Photosmart D7360) by colormunki photo.

When the printer profile is generated by colormunki, according to the real printer driver, they will be RGB or CMYK profile.  Apparently, 4.2 LR will only show printer profiles to use if the printer driver is of type RGB.  So if it's CMYK, I would not be able to use the printing profile in LR.

Is someone can you please tell me if this printer driver is RGB or CMYK?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards

The pilot waiting for RGB data.  The real color in the printer inks use CMYK, but managed by the driver, applications need to send RGB data to the driver.

  • How to make an RGB or CMYK AI file to STAY in color, despite the presence of black?

I give up. If I presented all lines at all in black to start, no matter how much color needs to go in the illustration, it will be necessary to constantly hit the color/options/RGB or CMYK registration to continue working in color. Complete a curve, join the ends, fill it with red... No, it seems, with the grey wire. Go to the color, poke 'options' Panel, scroll down to RGB. Check. Back to the figure of the curve. Adjust the black line. Fill with... Gray again. Back to color Panel. And so on. Is it possible to declare an image "RGB" or even "CMYK" and make it stick? I mean, same CMYK? What Black INCLUDES? And you, CMYK? I tried Document Setup-did not have a difference.

The only solution I can think, after all this, is to dump black entirely and start all the drawings with lines of red, blue, green or dark blood. Does anyone have a better solution?

If you select your line, not the K 100% color panel shows?

Then, you work with the grayscale option.

Select a line, choose: select > same outline color.

Go to the Options of the color Panel and switch to CMYK.

  • Why the transparent .eps file in artificial intelligence is not transparent in After Effects?

    Hi all

Work on a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe CC.

When I create graphics for clients, I use .eps files.  I use them in AE so I can properly scale and animate.  I have worked with hundreds of .eps files in AE with NO PROBLEM. I'm not sure what the problem is with the .eps file.  After having tried other successful in the same project AE .eps images, they work very well.  It's just that file.  Full disclosure: I know very few HAVE, no specific guidance would be appreciated.  I have a .eps file which is transparent in artificial intelligence... first image.

    aipic.jpg

I create the layers that I want to work and when I drag them in AE, I have a white background.  The full logo above also shows that the other layers below, it's just not onscreen... second image.

    aepic.jpg

I am at a loss to why this is happening.  Can anyone shed some light on this for me?  I think it's simple, but I just do not know the program and not been able to find all the messages for this specific problem.

Thanks for reading and any guidance offered.

    Todd

If one uses pixellation effects (such as a shadow, they cannot be kept transparent in the EPS file and will be rasterized, resulting in an image with a white background.)

If there is no image applied effects thebackground will be transparent.

Try saving the file in format AI CC.

    Hi jessicam,.

Please see the help - Flaming Pear Software

    Ensure that:

    • active layer is visible.
    • active layer is not locked.
    • active layer is not text or vectors.
    • Selected area is not completely transparent. If this is the case, painted in a neutral color first.

You can use the pen tool to draw directly:

Or you can use the Pathfinder palette to subtract an ellipse from a rectangle:

  • How to display a document without spill on artificial intelligence

I posted this on the Adobe forum earlier.  Surprisingly, I can't find this message in my story because it seems that this forum is now now only a certain amount of history.  I was a member of the forum since 2004, but all my posts except the very recent disappeared. If I'm wrong about this, and if anyone knows how to get back to all of my history of messages, I appreciate it someone could tell me.

But anyway, one of the things that I've never understood about HERE is when you look at the shapes that are designed out of the screen design (I think he called the artboard), there is no option to turn off reversed forms, so you can see what the design looks like.  For example, the following example 8.5 x 11 with a bleeding.  I've drawn shapes that go beyond white.  But the only way for me to 'turn off' what is beyond white is when I draw gray rectangles and put them around the page to hide the reversed forms:

    shapes.jpg

PSD, you don't have to worry about that and ID, you turn on the preview and it cuts on the edges of the doc.  Is there a way to disable what is beyond the edges in artificial intelligence?

draw a much larger area than the work plan (larger than the area that you intend to view)

draw a box of the same size as the artboard.

    make a compound path.

    fill the compound path.

Make sure it is above your works of art in the order of the stack, or it's a clean diaper.

or use the script of carlos. It's really good.
