Netflix Silverlight

OK, I hate to be cynical in the group, but almost all your solutions are different for the same problem.

I've tried everything. Typical for the MS. Imagine if your car made in this way. You wouldn't keep long.

I think that Netflix should be responsible for software running on their Web site.

Thanks anyway

I agree with Syed N need more information. Since you talk about Silverlight, I guess you have a problem with the movies available for streaming Netflix. First of all I have no connection with Microsoft or any other computer related company. I can assure you that Netflix streaming movies will work on a fairly new system from Microsoft such as 7 and Vista or a recent Firefox browser, a fairly recent browser IE.  I invite you to update your browsers, if they are not the latest version or two.  Also, try to use the Firefox browser, if you have problems on an IE browser, or try an IE browser if you are having problems on Firefox.  Too high security settings can sometimes cause problems. So check the security settings on the two MS OS and the browser, as well as any virus, Malware, firewall, etc. programs added. There are many other things that could rarely be a problem.

There is no way that Netflix can ensure that streaming movies will work on your computer, because there is no way they can check and change dozens of settings on your computer that might cause a problem. Netflix gave help and is still probably, for the problems of their streaming movies. Also for those not wanting to do not use a computer to stream movies, they have a box, that you can buy that will connect your TV directly to them and publish movies. However, you will still need to use your computer to order movies, change your account etc.

  • Netflix/Silverlight stop working, is 10 Firefox a 64-bit browser?

It apparently takes MS Silverlight to stream Netflix. Streaming has stopped working for me every since Firefox updated to 10. MS wrote that Silverlight works with a 32-bit browser.

I had the same problem. I am running Windows Vista and Firefox 10.0.2 (I think).

What worked for me was to download Safari browser, then download Microsoft Silverlight from there.

Then, I liquidated Safari (I just like Firefox better) and reopened Firefox. Went to Netflix and I can watch new videos!

Original title: Netflix 8010-but mistake the Inprivate browsing is disabled

OK, I got some kind of virus this kind of thing where it was like a fake antivirus, fortunately I knew and got rid of him and everything seems to work fine except that whenever I try to watch something on netflix, I get this error. He said essentially that inprivate browsing is turned on and that it cannot play the video. Then I tried to disable Inprivate more through the registry. However it still gives me the error.

After that, I found something that said it could be silver light. Now I uninstalled light silver and restarted, but it won't let me reinstall it. He tries and tells me "unable to install silverlight" if I click it takes me to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight/resources/help.aspx?errorID=1622more information.

So now I'm still pretty much where I started. IM thinking responsible Foing to BestBuy and geeksquad tell later if I can't get this figured out. Thanks in advance.

Edit: I forgot to say that I tried to uninstall IE9, but it tells me there is an error uninstalling, so I downloaded firefox and it shows me the same error of netflix.

    Hello

I suggest you to check the Microsoft Silverlight configuration settings and check if it helps.

To do this, follow these steps.

    (a) click on the startup type Microsoft Silverlight in the box to start the search.
    (b) click the application storage tab.
    (c) click on delete and make sure the box that says "Enable storage of applications" is checked.
    (d) close Microsoft's Silverlight Configuration and check if it helps.

If you are still having the problem with Silverlight, it would be better to post the same question in the Microsoft Silverlight forums for assistance.

  • Netflix Silverlight crashes in Firefox and Chrome but works ok in Media Center.

I have a Windows 7 computer, I intended to use for Netflix movies specifically so I can get the subtitles.  Netflix is running in Media center, but does not seem to support subtitles.  Silverlight crashes after 20 or 30 minutes in Firefox and Chrome.  I think it hangs is IE also, but I rarely use it because it is difficult to get through all the options of the offer. I did uninstall it and reinstall stuff without success.

  • Netflix/Silverlight support for all eternity Syndrome

About half of the shows that I watch on Netflix are affected by what I call the syndrome of "load for all eternity. He played for 5 or 7 minutes, then start of loading and will never get more than 0%, unless I refresh the page, then 5 to 7 minutes later does it again. But NOT for all the shows I watch. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Silverlight, but that has not worked. I use a Qosmio X 775 with Windows 7, I have a strong inclination, it's the laptop or a problem of Silverlights, because my husband watch netflix on our pc with the same wireless, and it has no problem.

Doesn't make sure that no firewall or internet security thing is trying to block.

  • Firefox 43 - Netflix - not recognized Silverlight, does not.

    Using Windows 7 64-bit SP1. Using Firefox 43 32 bits.

After the upgrade to Firefox 43 Netflix doesn't recognize of Silverlight and the forces of reading in the built-in player to HTML5. HTML5 player uses 90% cpu and therefore unusable. Tried the usual solutions: clear the cache etc. uninstalling, re-installing Silverlight; turn it back on. Silverlight is still not recognized or work. Tried the Microsoft test site. Says that Silverlight is installed and running. I tried Netflix in Internet Explorer. Siverlight works.

I need one of two solutions: (1) work Silverlight; or (2) use HTML5 player with a CPU use moderate.

    Thank you.

Thank you. Change the user-agent string might work, but I don't want to change the headers.

Bottom line from my perspective: Silverlight cannot be used in Firefox 43 with Netflix. The change was not documented or communicated in the release notes December 15. The above blog ads were released on 17 December and State single reading HTML5 is available, which is different from saying that Silverlight is not available.

My time has been lost for stupid reasons.

  • Firefox does not allow Silverlight to run Netflix content on my browser after the most recent Microsoft update.

The Netflix support rep said that I now need to remove Firefox for 64-bit operating system and install Firefox 32 bits, which I don't even think is possible. I have Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Netflix was working fine until the update of Microsoft ran 36 hours ago. Now only Internet Explorer run Netflix content successfully. I uninstalled and re-installed Silverlight, rebooted my PC and no dice.

As for the 32-bit Firefox version you already have: 39 of Firefox is not available in a 64-bit version, at least not officially.

I think that your Silverlight is a different version of mine. Could you visit the Microsoft test page and see if he says you're good?

    http://www.Microsoft.com/getSilverlight/get-started/install/default.aspx

In addition, what kind of error do you receive when you try to access Netflix on Firefox? Details would be useful.

  • Cannot be used after I installed Firefox 38 Netflix. Always ask to install Silverlight?

I was under the impression that we can now play videos Netflix without using Silverlight, after the new update. I did not understand correctly? Netflix is always asking me to install Silverlight. I uninstalled it after reading the changes.

Netflix still test the module Adobe DRM and has not signed on this issue yet, so Silverlight will be necessary until Netflix allows this plugin module to use.

  • Why should I use silverlight to view Netflix movies?

I wonder why I have to use Silverlight to play Netflix movies. When I opened Netflix and selected a movie to play in my Firefox browser a gray page open upward and the only option was to play the movie using Silverlight. I have a vague feeling that it is a requirement for Netflix as Netflix is in partnership with Silverlight, a Microsoft product and has a grip on what can be played with this addon. Why there is no alternative. I love the new Firefox, but we always wish for a bit more control of who does what on our machine.

    Respectfully,.
    Tom C.

Netflix determines what program their films are to be used. Firefox has no control over it.

  • Will correct the error between mac FF27, Silverlight, and Netflix, (FF26 works) and or error in "On Firefox" that ALWAYS install the new version?

(personal information (password), removed by the moderator. Please see the guidelines and rules of the Forum -m)

First of all, your field 'password' (in the registration form) will not work with the password *. What is legal by your definition. You guys are really slippery. Your work starts to suck, your incompatible and you make a lot of mistakes, maybe you should take a breath and aim at a stable platform instead of adding new bells and whistles every 15 minutes. I'm very sad to know where you filed as recently disappeared.

This problem (see your question above line) has finally upset me so much that I take the time to let you know on the subject.

If you go to the window "On Firefox" under OS X, just check the version of the software; It will ALWAYS be up-to-date. In the case of FF26 to FF27. This is regardless of what the update is defined in preferences! And of course that makes Netflix no functional (netflix) generates an error indicating that Silverlight must be uninstalled and reinstalled. However, what needs to be done is for FF27 to be trashed and FF26 be reinstalled.

Please, if the product is not stable it is not usable, period.

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete a possible user.js file and files numbered prefs-# .js and rename (or delete) the file prefs.js to reset all the prefs by default, including the prefs set via user.js and pref which is no longer supported in the current version of Firefox.

Try this > about: config check the settings for these prefs and reset by clicking twice if one is true (it is to stop the automatic updates)

    App.Update.auto - false
    App.Update.Enabled - false
    App.Update.Silent - false

    You said:

First off, your "password" field (in the registration form) will not work with the password *****; which is legal by your definition.

Can you elaborate more on what you're talking about? Your existing password does not work on this site (support.mozilla.org) or is it something else?

    CARE

Disabling Plugin-Container is not a recommended solution

There is a danger that Firefox itself will become crashy if you disable the plugin container.

even more importantly Adobe is not testing the new versions of Flash with the in-process configuration, which means that we're seeing crashes which are specific to in-process. {bug 769721]

Unfortunately I know the problems of security, disable plugin - container.exe. I don't know that it is a problematic area in Firefox to manage plugins such as Silverlight and Flash related questions. Mozilla has known about flash player crashes for years for example and o guess they cannot not possible design that it is THEIR browser plugin container causing the problem and always point the finger to the flash. I'm sorry that I don't have the other answer for you.

As long as the original article, I've referenced, you can use my regedit to implement as well and does not require a re-boot machine unless you have a blocked running process that you can not kill.

I'm glad that I was able to get it resolved rather painless for you

    Best regards
