  Thanks for your reply, but I think that I have fixed my problem.  When I built the system, I never could the 2nd strip of memory to work.  It would not just start my system at all.  I thought all along that I had a problem of memory based on my last sentence.  I finally went out and bought another brand memory and did not have a BSOD on the last 2 days.

  This thinkpad had Vista Home top. I bought the new hard drive to load a copy just bought Windows XP Pro SP2 top (.) After you install the new hard drive:

  1. I turned on the machine and inserted the Windows XP CD.

  2. the files on the CD (drivers, etc) started loading (in memory, I guess).

  3. then invited himself to choose if I want to install a new version of XP or restore an existing version.

  4. I chose to install a new version.

  5 then I got a message saying that Windows could not find a hard drive on my machine.

  6 then I rebooted and interrupted restarting to examine the configuration of the BIOS settings

  7. I found the hard drive test function and the hard drive test.

  I get the BSOD 0xF4 at least once or twice a day. I can boot Windows without problem. It appeared to a next day to up my new build and running.

  My question is, since I already activated my copy of windows, is there a way to activate it again on the next generation?  Installation is always on a machine, I just need to be able to reactivate it.  I don't have a lot of time.  A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

  I saw the 5820 k markers once overclocked, similar to the k 5930 scene. so for me the upgrade to the k 5930 is only for the pcie lanes. If you're looking for more quickly, 5960 x 8 cores is the next step toward the top, but more than 2 x the price. If you need that performance, I will try to use the as a temporary remnant 5820 k, just to get to broadwell-e 10-core. It is rumored to 2016 q2 release.

  One word: glorious! 4K video editing is out of this world. In the source monitor and program videos are played with a 'complete' resolution with zero loss of images. Classification and color of the color correction is amazing also. I can manipulate each parameter and see it change during video playback. The rendering is seconds fast, light for a 2 min clip. The encoding is super fast.

  What to update then?  We can only try to recommend a balanced build based on your projects and media. If you do not have the system and launched, you would be able to see where the bottleneck using performance monitoring programs. first and most of the software adobe for the most part depend on the cpu. Since you have the gtx 980 ti and samsung 950, the next update would probably be the cpu. If the 5820 k is not enough, the next upgrade of processor will the kernel broadwell-e 8-database $600-ish or 10 at the $1 k - ish. the only faster cpu upgrade option for the asus x 99 mbd would be a xeon, but which would be very costly and require an ecc memory. After broadwell-e/ep next gen cpu will require a new motherboard.

  The keys on my T61 became unresponsive after several years of use, so I bought a keyboard replacement from Amazon. I just installed it and well, it feels terrible--nothing like the keyboard, I just replaced. The keys feel squishy and stir rather catchy and solid.

  Welcome to the forum!

  Historically, there are generally three manufacturers of different keyboard whose products were used on the ThinkPad. Each of these companies had a different number of RUF assigned for their product.

  At the back of your original keyboard, there are a number of RUF. Throw it in the Google search or eBay and make sure to check that the seller will provide the keyboard with the FRU even and not any other.
