  I'm trying to understand what is happening or what to look for when I create/assign a new shortcut keyboard and more to 'save' it why it does not work after.

  Background:

  I created other keyboard shortcuts that work successfully.

  A new is not substitute another shortcut assigned.

  I tried deleting and re-posting, yet, it does not work.

  Can someone tell me what to look for or what I'm doing wrong in this scenario?

  Hi Josh: I have to run, but I'm asking because the Mac have all kinds of keyboard shortcuts built into the operating system, and that they will replace the shortcuts of InDesign. You can take a look at them via Apple > System Preferences > keyboard shortcuts. If you try to use a shortcut function watch tab keyboard, for others, look at the shortcuts tab. I'll check this thread a little later on to see if you have thought about it.

  I'm under first 2015.4 on an iMac and I'm having a problem where I put the a new shortcut for the path select tool, and it still doesn't work.  All the other shortcuts are beautiful, and I re-kept my shortcut profile.  When I restarted the computer, the new shortcut worked for a while, then stopped again.  All the other shortcuts are always very good.  Thoughts?

  I traced the track selection tool to "," and back to "m".

  What I did which is my current solution is mapped to you and to do there first "forget" who worked.  Really weird, I've never seen anything like it.  But remapping it worked for now.

• Defining a new keyboard shortcut

  I'm trying to set a new shortcut.  I named my new game, selected the box product, selected to the new order and the window tabs shortened.  When I try to type in the new shortcut, I get 1 letter typed in and then this shortcut will appear (if I try typing Ctrl, as soon as I type C I get a copy of the message C).  Any ideas?

  You must enter the actual key combination. CTRL + c, for example, just press Ctrl + C.

  I'll try to find how to insert text quickly without having to type it all in. The example is my email address. It takes a while to type, and I have to do it often. Is there a way to press a single function/control key which States that the value assigned to it, and if so, how do assign you the value to the key?

  You can assign keyboard shortcuts to launch a program.

  You cannot assign a new function to the Windows key, natively in Windows 7 or Vista.

  You can't create hotkeys for pasting text into a form or document, natively in Windows 7 or Vista.

  Internet Explorer has a way to save the data from the forms (AutoComplete) if it is of no interest.

  Under file > Scripts > Script event handler you can bind an Action or Script to an event.

  I tried CC 2015 and the biggest issue I have so far, is that keyboard shortcuts custom I painstakingly wrote in the document "Adobe After Effects Mac en_US Shortcuts.txt 13.2', located (similar to the CC 2014) in Effects/13.5 Volume/users/user/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After is being written over at Ae launch. So, no more custom shortcuts for me at the moment.

  I'm surprised that there are no recent posts to this topic, so I wonder if I'm the only one with this problem.

  Any ideas why my Ae replaces my updated the document "Adobe After Effects 13.2 Mac Shortcuts.txt en_US. Everything in the modified document is identical to the "Adobe After Effects Mac en_US Shortcuts.txt 13.2" document by default (with the exception of my modifier keys). No error message, just replaced at the launch of the Ae. I tried write protecting her updated "Adobe After Effects Mac en_US Shortcuts.txt 13.2" but who did cause an error of Ae.

  OK, so since no. we have something to offer, I tell myself that I have to spend time on it on my own. Here's what I discovered:

  The new keyboard shortcuts for After Effects, Ae, Creative Cloud 2015 text file is named "Adobe After Effects Mac en_US Shortcuts.txt 13.5" affixed to 2014 is named "Adobe After Effects 13.2 Mac Shortcuts.txt en_US. For the last few updates everything we had to do was rename the previous text with the name of the new text file and replace in the more recent Preferences folder.

  However, it did not work for the most recent update. The old text file header and the text file are exactly the same, so I me assuming that the rest of the text is the same except for a few pieces of text for my personal shortcuts, I changed... But of course it was wrong.

  I did a comparison more near the previous text file and that of CC2015.

  203 - at the line 'major_version' = '80' is now 'major_version' = "85"... That's all. That was what was causing the copy / paste my previous text of shortcuts to be rejected by Ae CC 2015.

  So, I copy and pasted everything after 'major_version' = '85' on line 203... the text file is now is more replaced at EI launches and all my shortcuts work in reality... However, some of the predefined shortcuts that work are now no longer works. This means that Adobe has changed some of the other key basic mapping in 2015 of CC.

  Here are two major changes that I found so far:

  line 402 - "TimePlay' = '(space)' doesn't exist more in 2015 CC and is now at line 405 - 'TimeSpacebarPlay' ="(space),"

  also in the new CC 2015 "Preview" = "(Pad0) (PadInsert)(macControl+0)" is now "PreviewNumpad0" = "(Pad0) (PadInsert)(macControl+0)" on line 437

  These two shortcuts render preview and should not be changed.

  I guess you need to decide if its worth your efforts to go to the text file and just change the keys you want to change, and leave the rest alone. Or, if the doing some precision copy and paste are better. A pain so be it, but its good to know that the mod custom keyboard shortcut doesn't work effectively again.

I've defined for insert-> hyperlink - Ctrl + K and to insert-> anchor name I Ctrl + g. (Yes, I've been using Expression Web before.) However, when I press Ctrl-G in Design mode, nothing happens. When I select a Word and press Ctrl + K, the text is deleted and replaced by < A HREF = "#" > # < /A >.

  When I look at the drop down menus, my shortcuts are displayed, and when I select commands in the menus, the expected dialog boxes are displayed.

  I have reviewed the manual, watched a video somewhere and it seems that they think I should exactly as I did. But apparently, Miss me something. But what?

  Looks like you are running in a conflict between a part of the dialog box insert a hyperlink and the shortcut you want to use. In other words, now CTRL key when this open dialog box it removes and causes a default value should be inserted.

  To avoid the problem, you can try using commands as Nancy O. suggested, or you can change your hotkey to avoid using CTRL (for example, F11) or add a modifier key (such as CTRL + ALT + K instead of just CTRL + K).

  Seems unlikely after all these years.  But you can add your detailed opinion and vote on it in the Adobe official feedback forum: Lightroom: allow customization of keyboard shortcuts | Community customer Photoshop family

  But note that a fair amount of customization of the keyboard is possible with a modest effort:

  1. you can change TranslatedStrings.txt.

  2. on Mac, you can you shortcuts keyboard standard application in system preferences.

  3. on Windows, you can use the free and widely used AutoHotKey.

  You can choose the eyedropper tool, click on your document open in photoshop, and then hold down the left mouse button while you drag out of photoshop to read the colors.

  Also works when the adobe color picker dialog box open in photoshop.
