New options for Smart Objects?

I can't find any information on the definitions of the new smart object options in cc2014?

Layer Comps in smart objects

Review a document with layer placed as a smart object in another document. When you select the smart object in the container document, the properties panel gives you access to layers that have been defined in the source file.

This feature allows you to change the State of the smart object to a level of layer without having to edit thesmartobject

    Simple app options are also some daft, ends up more expensive than my cc subscription!

    Strange, but true.

  • The PSB (textures 3D and Smart Objects) are stored in the PSD file?

    The subject line is the main issue. But I have a few other questions: the PSB files are stored (in the Windows operating system) in the folder Temp of the user. Why? My Temp folder has a dozen PSB files with various dates. Is there a reason that they do not disappear when a PSD file is saved? Remains of the PS crashes?

    Same questions for Smart Object PSB files.

    Thank you

    Yes, a smart object is a container for a file embedded as a PSB (large Document of Photoshop), EPS, PSD, TIFF, PDF, etc.

    Material 3D textures are incorporated in a document by using the mechanism of the SO.

    When you choose to edit a written Photoshop, SO the ER is incorporated into a temporary file and opens in a new window.

    Photoshop will normally remove the temporary file when the master document (the one containing the SO) is closed. If you wish, you can watch the creation and deletion of these files. An accident before closing the document master is expected to be the only reason that there is a PSB wandering in Temp.

  • Quickly download/modify a group of new smart object

    Hello! I have a file in photoshop with a 5-10 + images, each of them different East. It is protected by a kind of model.

    Whenever I change all the photos in the file over and over again.

    Is it possible to do it in 1-2 clicks? Not just manually edit each image smart object, but simply download new file, then it will be done automatically?

    Sorry for my bad English and I thank you!

    You use Photoshop CC? If I understand you correctly, you can use dynamic objects linked to simplify things:

  • Layering with smart objects for the architectural atmosphere photos in PS

    Help...

    I was wondering if anyone has had experience working professional architectural photographs in PS?

    I'm interested in Help and learn how to use the technique of what architectural layering of many photographers use to produce different exhibitions, an Interior into a single image.

    Many pros prefer this method tells me, because it offers more control and flexibility than the use of HDR.

    A photographer, that I talked to said:

    "I also support different exposures and use under or above the exposures for extreme areas needing adjustment." Dynamic objects simplify things by using a single RAW file whenever in range".

    I don't understand this; Anyone got any links to the Web sites, etc., I can learn more about this method?

    Thank you...

    From your post, I think that what they say is you using a raw image, you can change the exposure in camera raw. This can be done at any time by double clicking on the icon of the layer that should be a dynamic object, so that you can go back to camera raw at any time change the exposure.

    You can set a camera raw default to open an inphotoshop of the image as a smart object. In the lower right in camera raw, you will see either a button called open an image or a button called open object. This can be changed in the options of workflow that looks like a link html below the image in camera raw (this location may have changed since CS3). A shortcut is to press and hold the SHIFT key, it will change how this button.

  • copy the smart object, paste in the new doc is smarter

    Here's the relevant part:

    app.activeDocument = backArt;
    var backDesign = backArt.activeLayer;
    backDesign.copy();
    app.activeDocument = backTemp;
    app.activeDocument.paste();

    If the layer I copy a dynamic object, it is no longer when stuck.  Is it possible to change this option or if not actually copy paste a layer which is a smart object?

    Both pis.  I was able to solve the problem using two copies instead of copy.

  • Difference between convert it to a smart object and convert for smart filters?

    Hello

    I'm curious to know is there is a difference between the right clicking on a layer and convert it to a smart object vs going to the menu Filter and choose Convert for smart filters?

    I don't think that there is a difference.  When you use a filter on a smart object to a smart filter layer.  The layer must be a dynamic object for a smart filter layer filter it is a catch 22.

  • Change the default options for a NEW virtual machine in ESXI 5.1

    Hello

    I am looking for a solution change the 'default' options for a new virtual machine created in ESXI 5.1

    I want to have parameters such as 'cpu/memory HOT-add' default to enabled instead of disabled.

    There may be more options to change to a new virtual machine.

    All those who have an option to change the 'default' options for new virtual machines?

    THX

    You can change the/etc/vmware/config of vSphere host file and add the lines mem.hotadd = 'TRUE' and vcpu.hotadd = 'TRUE '.
    The settings then apply to any VM on this host when virtual machines are turned on...

    I just tried this on a 5.1 ESXi host and it seems to work perfectly...

  • DNG/Smart Object workflow options

    Hi, we have been converting all of our RAW files to DNG on receipt of the photographers. So this is the format we will use from now on for all RAW images.

    We create web banners of these images in a Photoshop master file that allows you to crop and optimize in one place. The end file will be many layers of banners on which it will export for each page header.

    But we decided to incorporate the RAW files as smart objects so that we could make other adjustments in ACR that we move forward.

    -Do I have reason to assume that ONLY the initials ACR adjustments before opening the DNG in PS as smart object will be stored in the DNG file? Any other refinements from PS by a double click to open in ACR only can be stored in the original DNG file?

    -If this is the case, is there scripts, automation or suggestions of workflow that would allow us to keep our DNG files original up-to-date with all the adjustments made, including those carried out after being a smart object in PS (we currently use the CS6 PS)?

    It's really convenient to have all the images in the document PS one as smart objects that can be adjusted according to the needs. But I would also like to be able to save the DNG in batches for different purposes (for example, master files for printing) without having to go back and redo all the settings.

    Ideas?

    To do this, I think you have to pass to CC so that you can use the linked location.

  • Done save for Web rasterize smart objects before it is resized?

    Photoshop CS5

    Windows XP

    Backstory: (feel free to jump)

    I do the webcomics, and the common practice to work in a very large size (like the 4000 x 3500) and throughout the last step down to the size of your target (something about x 1024). Sometimes, we use things like concrete or paper textures textures to Stylize our work. Often, because we work in very large formats, we can not find the texture we want in a high enough resolution to cover the entire file. In this case, we convert the texture to a smart object, so no detail is destroyed and resize it until our large size.

    tl; dr:

    Question:

    When I use Save For Web and Devices... on a file with a dynamic object more large scale, will it reduce the dynamic being rescaled version? Or it uses the original data in the smart object and resize it only once?

    Yes, it has to rasterize at the resolution of the document.

    It uses the same data as if you flattened the document and then saved.

  • If I'm smart object then rasterize it then smart new ojbects

    Hello

    I hope you are all good. I wonder that something with the smart object in photoshop. So if I do a random object layer intelligent then rasterize it (and make some changes may be beush or a few small changes) then turn to smart object again. I'll lose any resolution or size problems?

    If you have an information about it pls know me.

    Nice day!

    You do not have either of these problems when working with dynamic objects. If you rasterize the smart object and then change the size of resolution or image via the size of the Image, you will have the same results as you normally would. Switch to smart objects by pixelation will change all that.
