new results of research in a new tab

I got the value that whenever I clicked on a website listed in a Google search result, it should open in a new tab in firefox. Now for some reason, that of not working and I can not find the setting.

For the Google Web site, you can set your preferences in the Google search settings page:

  • Number of results: Google default (10 results) provides the fastest results.
  • Results window: the search results open in a new browser window.
  • This information is stored in a cookie.
  • To keep such a context, you need cookie exception allow (Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep this cookie, especially for secure Web sites and if we let the cookies expire when Firefox closes
  • Make sure that you do not remove the navigation, search and download history on Firefox to clear 'Cookies' and 'Site preferences.

Yes. Open a new tab and type or paste Subject: config in the address bar, press enter and press ENTER again to override the warning. Then stick browser.search.openintab in the filter area that shows, and then double-click the browser.search.openintab to activate (it will switch to "BOLD").

  • Firefox recently started opening new tabs when I click on search results how do I get this to stop

When I use Google and I click on a search result, it opens a new tab, where it used to just take me to a new page in the tab I was using, I searched on the tabs tab in options and saw I could choose to open in a new window, but I don't see an option to open it in the current tab. It started to arrive from nowhere.

Found a setting in Google that said to open all the result in a new window that I guessed that Firefox has been the substitution and open it in a new tab as suggested settings unchecked the box in Google and now the behaviour is back to normal.

  • I use google search. When I click on a suggestion contained in the results tab of the search, I want it to open in a new tab and keep the search results in the original tab. How?

For example, when I enter the search term "cabinets" and get a page/tab search results with suggestions such as Sears, JCPenney, or Amazon, I want to be able to click on Sears and open the Sears page in a new tab/page. I want to be able to close the tab to Sears and use the search results tab.

Google offers a framework for this. What it does, it adds a HTML (target = "blank") statement to every result link, which causes Firefox to open in a new tab. If you uncheck the preference to divert new windows in new tabs, Firefox will then open the result in a new separate window.

This preference is stored in a cookie, if you clear your Google cookies often, so you'll need to reset every time. You can do so here:

    https://www.Google.com/preferences

(On this page, Google refers to a new window.)

  • How can I stop the Zoo research being my new tab popup?

I reset my homepage to be Google, when things were diverted by Zoo research. Now I get that as the new tab when I open it and I want it to stop. I'd rather Google.

If you want to return the default for all Google, this extension is a quick solution: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/searchreset/

However, where you need it, here is the way to 'practice' more than change your the new tab page.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Press Ctrl + t to open a new tab and check that it worked. Fixed?

    Two traps:

    • If Firefox ignores the setting, one of your extensions may be substitution of her. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on page modules. Either:

      • CTRL + SHIFT + a > click Extensions in the left column
      • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons > click Extensions in the left column
    • If the amendment works but at the next startup is back for the zoo, you could have a user.js file in your personal settings Firefox (your Firefox profile folder). This article describes how to track down and delete the file: How to fix preferences that will not save.

    A little luck?

  • When I open a new tab, it is no longer a 'new tab' but it opens a 'Research driven' Web page. I have not installed which. How can I remove it?

When I open a new tab, I no longer get a blank page. Instead, this link opens automatically.
    Search.conduit.com/?CTID=CT3319766 & octid = EB_ORIGINAL_CTID & SearchSource = 69 & CUI = & SSPV = & Lay = 1 & UM = 2 & UP = SPBE0988F4-A2BC-4595-B005-51E70B9E0B94

I've seen a shield of unknown virus type icon in my system tray, so I toss it and he said 'Protect research.' I didn't install myself, I install a program must have given me a virus. Research Protect is made by Conduit. I uninstalled search shelter in my control panel and delete the search folder protect program (x 86). Open Firefox and open a new tab.

    Research conducted is not more.

I didn't know it was a virus all this time. Thank you for your comments, everyone! I think I took care of him.

  • Links in search results does not open new tabs.

I'm missing something here and in other threads on this topic. I used to be able to search in the google search bar, for example, and a new tab opens with the search results. So if I left clicked on a link in the search results another new tab open and go to the linked page.

I don't remember how that was put in place, but I know that I didn't have to enter: config or install a special plug-in for it. I think that it has been implemented in the mixture of label more module.

I have no problem with search results, open a new tab, it is that I must now click on a link or right click + click 'open in new tab '.

What has changed here, and why? My old method worked in ver 21, he turned into worm. 22.

It seems that all these "updates" remove stuff that we used to have without notice and then come up with more finger clicks and config edits to make what was simple before.

For the search bar in the Navigation toolbar, you can set the browser.search.openintab true pref on the topic: config page.

For the Google Web site, you can make the change to the Google search settings page you can open through the gear icon on the Google results page.

Note that you can always force a link to open it in a new tab on middle - clicking on the link.

This also works for some entries in the context menu and some buttons (home, registration in the back and front button drop-down list etc.).

  • When, on my home page, I click on the link "transparent popup" in the query "did you mean: transparent popup", NO RESULTS appear in this new tab; How to solve?

I had trouble due, apparently, to a file named popuptransparent [dot] xul, which I have 3 cases on my computer (Win XP/Firefox last v.). Using my window of AVG home page, I get "popuptransparent" (try to fix) and the results appear OK. But then when I click to a new tab, on the "transparent popup" link in the query "did you mean: transparent popup", NO RESULTS appear in this new tab. In addition, when I reload then the Panel of AVG which sought to 'popuptransparent' in the first place, it, too, shows now no results. Or a panel shows Google now no results. They show the quantity of results, but just white screens for the results themselves.

Should I remove it from my computer all 3 of these instances of xul [dot]?

Regarding the problem of searching, you can check the extension "Disconnect"? I think it could affect the Google sites and third parties who use Google. You can disable or try its button Options here:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

While you're there, you can disable all extensions essential and unrecognized. When in doubt, turn off.

After restarting Firefox, did you notice a difference?

Could you explain in more detail the next part?

Should I remove it from my computer all 3 of these instances of xul [dot]?

Is this something that came in a security sweep? What question do you think they are originally? They are located in a folder extensions?

Whenever I am clicking on the results of the search from the Google search bar, it always opens the homepage of Google. I can only open in a new tab search results by clicking twice. It started when I installed Firefox 12.

Off all extensions and on each one. Everytime you had to restart the browser. The problem is resolved after you turn off the 'Indian Rail Info App 4.78 Firefox' extension. He worked with previous versions of Firefox but the problem came with the installation of Firefox 12.
